Abstract

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of protein levelin diet on feed eficiency and growth rate of Snakehead (Channa striata). Fivediet with different level of protein, diet P25(25% protein); P30 (30% protein); P35(35% protein); P40 (40% protein); and P45 (45% protein) were applied in thisexperiment. Ten fishes with initial body weight range 0.7 – 1.0 gram were rearedin each aquarium (water volume 10 L). Fishes were fed three time a day, atsatiation. Fish reared for 30 days. The result showed that growth rate and feedefficiency of fish fed diet 25% protein level (P25) were0.28 g and 2.46%, diet30% protein (P30) were 0.71 g and 9.86%, diet 35% (P35%) were 0.84 g and14.18%, diet 40% protein were 1.17 g and 16.97%, or diet 45% protein (P45)were 1.00 g and 9.58%. Based on BNT test showed that diet 40% protein levelwas higher growth rate and feed efficiency of fish than others diet. While survivalrate of fish fed diet 25% protein level was 50%, diet 30% protein was 46.67%,diet 35% protein was 76.67%, diet 40% protein was 63.33%, or diet 45% proteinwas 100%. Based on analysis of varians, had no significant different on survivalrate.Water quality of rearing media were temperature range was 26 – 29oC, pHwas 6.7 – 7.2, dissolved oxygen was 1.46 – 4.16 mg.L-1, and ammonia was 0.014- 0.182 mg.L-1.Keywords : Protein level in diet, feed efficiency, growth rate, Channa striata

Abstract

Putra MFS, Astuti S, Mahmud KK, Nabila F, Irawan H, Lorenza P, Fitrani M. 2021.  Survivality and growth of red tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) maintained in yumina and bumina systems. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar NasionalLahan Suboptimalke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang 20 Oktober 2021. pp. 788-794.  Palembang: Penerbit&PercetakanUniversitasSriwijaya (UNSRI). Fish farming is a source of livelihood for the community. However, in fish farming, especially tilapia, with high stocking rates, it will result in environmental pollution, both from undigested feed and too much fish manure. One technique that can overcome this is using yumina and bumina. This cultivation technique combines vegetables with fish or fruits with fish. By doing this technique, it will not damage the environment due to the use of fish manure which is used as fertilizer for plants. Yumina-bumina is the right solution because it is environmentally friendly, water quality can also be improved with this technique, because a decrease in water quality will cause fish death. This paper aimed to determine the effect of survival and growth of red tilapia cultured using yumina, bumina, and without yumina and bumina cultivation systems. Based on the results of the journal with 3 treatments, the highest weight growth value of tilapia was in the treatment of tilapia cultivation using pakcoy, and eggplant with results of 27.5 g and 27.2 g, respectively. As for the control treatment, the result was 18.7 g. In addition to pakcoy and eggplant, the yumina and bumina techniques can use basil, kailan, and other plants to get optimal fish growth results. Thus, the growth of tilapia using yumina and bumina techniques resulted in higher growth than without using yumina and bumina, and obtained two advantages in cultivation, namely vegetables and fish or fruit and fish.

Abstract

Putri AAE, Rahma BS, Anggraini L, Azizah M, Asyarifah MR, Fitrani M. 2021. Bumina cultivation technology uses a raft system water flow. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang 20 Oktober 2021. pp. 524-529.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI). Fish farming is one of the livelihoods in Indonesia. The number of people as actors of fish cultivation such as freshwater fish, but is constrained by increasingly limited land, decreasing water quality and quantity, water pollution and the impact of intensification. Therefore, a solution is needed to overcome this problem, namely by making use of a pond called the BUMINA (fruit and fish) pond that uses a raft system water flow. Bumina Pond is a pond that not only produces freshwater fish but is also able to produce certain fruits by utilizing freshwater fish farming on simple land and relatively cheap costs. fruit. The results obtained from Bumina's cultivation are fish, besides that it also produces fruit that increases income.

Abstract

Huda S, Mardhiyyah A, Oktavia I, Umami R, Amalia F, Fitrani M. 2021. Strategy for reducing water pollution due to plant waste by making water recirculation anaerobic-aerobic biofilter system in burai village, South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang 20 Oktober 2021. pp. 338- 347 Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Waste is a problem that a national and international scale has discussed. Those domestic and industrial waste harms the waters. One of them occurs in the waters of Burai Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, which has a plant waste problem in the form of liquid waste flowing along the river and can reduce water quality in the area. The research shows that the river in Burai village does not meet the cultivation requirements because heavy metals contaminate it with high hardness and total coliform, which is not suitable for drinking water. The purpose of this study was to reduce the pollution of river waters and support the aquaculture process. The writing method in this study using the literature study method. The study results show that water recirculation with a biofilter system can reduce water quality degradation by the filtration process and control dissolved solids that the cultivation system can adapt. The biofilter system used is an anaerobic-aerobic immersed biofilter system. Water recirculation with this system is proven to be able to control the total ammonia nitrogen and nitrite. Therefore, water recirculation can be applied to maintain water quality to support the cultivation business in the village.
