Abstract

Academic achievement reflects the level of success students achieve in college studies. Based on observation, a prominent factor that typically influence this metric is family roles, particularly through the mediation of noble character. Therefore, this research aims to examine the mediating role of noble character on the relationship between family roles and student academic achievement. In order to achieve the stated objective, 201 college students were selected using cluster stratified random sampling, which served as the sample in this explanatory quantitative research. Accordingly, three key variables observed during the course of the exploration include family function, noble character scales, and student cumulative achievement index. A mediation test was also carried out using Jamovi statistical software 2.0.0 to determine the relationship between the key variables. The obtained results from the test showed that family function did not directly influence educational achievement. Instead, it only determined academic achievement through the instillation of noble character in students. Based on this result, an inference was made that noble character significantly mediated the relationship between family function and academic achievement.

Abstract

Background: Nowadays, higher education is increasingly challenged to improve its quality to meet global needs. One of the most concerning indicators of higher education success is the quality of the graduates. To nurture the excellent traits of the alumni, higher education institutions should facilitate the learning process that drives the students to be active in both academic and non-academic areas. Entrepreneurship characters become one important feature in higher education curricular and non-curricular programs. However, the student's enthusiasm for entrepreneurship is still limited. Thus, it is essential to measure the entrepreneurial intention and the factors such as achievement motivation and subjective well-being. Purpose: This research aims to measure the relationship between achievement motivation and subjective well-being to entrepreneurial intention and the relationship between achievement motivation and subjective well-being among higher education students in Indonesia.Method: The respondents of this research are 316 higher education students from many different areas in Indonesia. The data were collected using an online survey with purposive sampling technique. SEM-PLS is employed as the data analysis method in this research.Findings: The result of this study showed that there is a positive relationship between achievement motivation and entrepreneurial intention. Besides, this research also revealed a positive relationship between subjective wellbeing and entrepreneurial intention, and there is a relationship between achievement motivation and subjective well-being.Implication: This information gives insight into intervention for building and enhancing entrepreneurial intention among students to build their achievement and subjective well-being.

Abstract

This research discusses the revitalization of Gambang Semarang in the context of coastal culture as a strategy to preserve traditional arts through education and tourism approaches. As one of Semarang's distinctive art forms, Gambang Semarang reflects cultural acculturation and has excellent potential to be developed in art education and cultural tourism promotion. This research explores strategies for integrating Gambang Semarang into the education curriculum and its development as a cultural-based tourist attraction. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study method involving interviews with stakeholders, observations, and documentation studies in Semarang schools, arts communities, and tourist destinations. The results showed that experiential arts learning and arts community engagement contributed significantly to increasing students' appreciation of Gambang Semarang. In addition, cultural festivals and arts-based tourism programs are effective strategies for expanding Gambang Semarang's exposure to the public and tourists. However, challenges in regenerating young artists and limited promotion remain significant obstacles. The impact of this research shows that the synergy between education and tourism can be an innovative solution for the preservation of Semarang Gambang while contributing to the strengthening of the cultural identity of Semarang's coastal communities and increasing the attractiveness of local cultural tourism.

Abstract

Enhancing educational outcomes for underachieving gifted students, defined as those with an IQ ≥ 110 but mathematics scores below 80%, requires innovative teaching strategies. This study investigates the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) compared to conventional teaching for improving mathematics learning outcomes among underachieving gifted students. Using a experimental design with randomised pre-test and post-test groups, 60 students from class XII IPA at SMA Negeri 5 Surabaya were assigned to either the STAD (n=30) or control group (n=30). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent t-test. The STAD group achieved a mean gain score of 39.633, compared to 27.267 for the control group, with a significant difference (t(58) = 7.380, p <0.001, d =1.91). These findings suggest STAD is effective for enhancing mathematics performance in this Indonesian population, supporting its use in collaborative learning contexts. Further research should explore long-term effects and additional outcomes.
