ABSTRAKSeiring dengan pertambahan usia, sebagian besar lanjut usia (lansia) mengalami penyakit kronis, salah satunya penyakit diabetes mellitus (DM). Penyakit kronis yang terjadi pada lansia dapat menyebabkan perubahan pada kualitas hidup. Orem dalam teori self care defisit menyatakan terdapat basic conditioning factors (BCFs) yang dapat mempengaruhi perawatan diri seseorang. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan BCFs dengan kualitas hidup lansia dengan DM di poliklinik endokrin RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif korelatif dengan desain cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode consecutive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 50 lansia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada tanggal 13-31 Mei 2015. Alat pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner BCFs terdiri 9 item pertanyaan dengan 2 pilihan jawaban dan kuesioner DQOL terdiri 28 item pertanyaan dengan rentang jawaban skala likert. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji chisquare dengan confidence interval 95% dan a=0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan BCFs dengan kualitas hidup lansia (p=0,001), ada hubungan jenis kelamin (p=0,013), ada hubungan status kesehatan (p=0,003), ada hubungan pelayanan kesehatan (p=0,013), ada hubungan sosial budaya (p=0,002), ada hubungan sistem keluarga (p=0,001), ada hubungan gaya hidup (p=0,002), ada hubungan lingkungan (p=0,023) dan ada hubungan sumber daya (p=0,002). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diharapkan kepada petugas kesehatan di Poliklinik Endokrin RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh untuk lebih meningkatkan pendidikan kesehatan kepada pasien lansia dengan DM terkait penyakit yang diderita dan memperhatikan kenyamanan lansia selama lansia berobat. The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between BCFs and the quality of life of the elderlies with DM in Endocrine Clinic of dr. ZainoelAbidin General Hospital of Banda Aceh. This study was descriptive correlational study with cross sectional design. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling with the number of sample was 50 elderlies. Data were collected from May 13-31, 2015. The data collection instrument used was questionnaire about BCFs consisted of 9 question items with two optional answers and DQOL questionnaire consisted of 28 question items with Likert scale. The data were analyzed by using chi-square test with confidence interval 95% and a=0.05. The results of the study showed that there was correlation between BCFs and the quality of life of the elderlies (p=0.001); between sex (p=0.013); between health status (p=0.003);between health services (p=0.013); between social and culture (p=0.002); between family system (p=0.001); between lifestyle (p=0.002); between environment (p=0.023); and between resources (p=0.002). Based on the results of this study, the health personnel of Endocrine Clinic of dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital are expected to increase health education for the elderlies with DM, in term of the diseases suffered, and to pay attention to the elderlies’ comfort during the treatment.
