Abstract

The training includes introducing the concept of packaging, the benefits of packaging, packaging design, and making packaging product. Kemplang crackers, Rengginang, Chips, and Pempek are commodities produced by the SMEs assisted by the PPMK in Prabumulih City. However, the packaging is inadequate so that it is not feasible to be marketed to a wider market such as minimarkets, hotels, or other modern markets. The result of this training is that participants understand the importance of adequate packaging so the product has value-added and can increase product competitiveness. Participants become skilled in packaging after packaging practice. We recommend that the training program for packaging craft products be continued by providing packaging tools so that more groups of craftsmen can experience the benefits. The training participants are expected to be able to take an active role in improving the quality of the product and pass the knowledge they have gained to other craftsmen in their area.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between air pollution, economic growth, and life expectancy in Indonesia. The observation period during 1985-2019 used time-series data obtained from the World Bank. Quantitative approach by applying two main models, namely the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model by considering the effect of time-lapse and Granger causality with vector error correction method. Research findings prove that air pollution has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy in the long run. Economic growth has a positive and significant effect on life expectancy. In the short run, the current life expectancy is positively and significantly influenced by the life expectancy of the previous period. Air pollution has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy, and economic growth has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy. Another finding in the Granger causality model is a two-way relationship between air pollution and life expectancy. Other evidence exists of a two-way relationship between economic growth and air pollution. In addition, evidence of a unidirectional relationship of economic growth with life expectancy in the short run. The cointegration equation shows evidence of a long-run relationship between air pollution, economic growth, and life expectancy..How to Cite:Bashir, A., Liliana, L., Hidayat, A., Suhel, S., Hamidi, I., & Atiyatna, D. In implementing this packaging, all business participants do not have adequate packaging and do not have a product brand, so they will further provide assistance to design the training participants' brands and product packaging.

Abstract

Capital consists of human capital, social capital, natural capital, physical capital, and financial capital, but this study will only discuss human and social capital. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between human and social capital in achieving prosperity through the level of wages and income, especially for workers in the Small and Medium Enterprises sector in Palembang City. Respondents in this research were 400 workers in the Small and Medium Enterprises sector in Palembang, in the Sub-districts of Sukarami, Ilir Barat I, Kalidoni, Seberang Ulu I and Seberang Ulu II. The method used is descriptive qualitative in path analysis, with primary data in interview questionnaires. The results showed that workers’ drinking and maximum income ranged from Rp500,000 to Rp7,500,000, with an average of Rp1,903,041. The results of the path analysis found that human capital through wages affected the income of 76.4 percent, with a beta value of 0.137 indicating that if the length of schooling were increased by 10 percent, wages would increase by 1.4 times and income by 23.6 percent. In contrast, the relationship of social capital through wages to income is very small because other factors influence, such as the work environment, place of residence, and others.
