Vegetable is a way of traditional treatment of ancestral heritage that has long been known in Indonesia. Vegetable as a culture of the Indonesian Society desperately needs to be preserved. In an effort to preserve herbs and improve the benefits of herbal medicine in Indonesia, the Division of Work Program " Smoothies vegetable" KKN-PPM group in Kepuh Kemiri Village, Tulamgan made a new innovation in the form of herbal medicine in the form of smoothies. It aims to attract people to love more ancestral heritage products that are almost marginalized by modern market products lately. Through this new innovation, it is expected the interest of the community especially Kepuh Kemiri Village, Tulangan to herbal medicine can increase. Researchers use herbs as an ingredient of smoothies, because some people in the village of Kepuh Kemiri, Tulangan work as a maker of vegetable. This research activity was carried out in several hamlets in Kepuh Kemiri village, Tulangan namely RT.03 and RT.09 The KKM-PPM group activities in each sub-village are done by way of product socialization and how the product works. The results obtained from this research that there is a high interest from the community of Kepuh Kemiri village, Tulangan in making smoothies vegetable. It is expected that they can develop new innovations in the manufacture of vegetable so as to increase household income.

Pemanfaatan teknologi khususnya dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Indonesia sudah banyak dieksplorasi. Sebagian besar hasil eksplorasi ini mengungkapkan bahwa teknologi dapat memfasilitasi para siswa dalam menguasai materi dan meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa mereka. Selaras dengan hasil penemuan tersebut, dosen Prodi Bahasa Inggris Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya menyelenggarakan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (PPM) berupa pelatihan pemanfaatan Podcast dengan bantuan aplikasi Audacity dalam pengajaran Listening dan Speaking bagi guru SMA/SMK kota Surabaya. PPM ini dilaksanakan secara daring dan diikuti oleh 95 guru. Setelah selesai PPM, kami ingin mengetahui pandangan guru-guru tersebut mengenai pemanfaatan Podcast dan Audacity dalam pembelajaran Listening dan Speaking. Pre-Test dan kuisioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Data dari pre-test dan kuisioner ditambah dengan data opini tertulis peserta dianalisis menggunakan konten analisis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta mempunyai sikap yang positif terhadap penggunaan Podcast dalam pembelajaran listening dan speaking. Hal utama yang mendasari sikap positif mereka adalah fleksibilitas Podcast dalam penggunaannya, fleksibilitas akses, fleksibilitas frekuensi, dan fleksibilitas individu.

Since TOEFL is sat by students before being successfullyadmitted into various higher institutions of education at tertiary levelaround the world, they should reach and achieve a satisfactory pass inthe examination. It is an instrument to determine students’ ability tocarry out their programs of study in English. The TOEFL internetbased testing (iBT) measures the ability in using and understanding ofEnglish. It also assesses reading, listening, writing and speaking,focusing on integrating the four skills. The examination measuresstudents’ ability to use English language as a tool to communicateeffectively in academic settings. TOEFL iBT is also being taken bythose who want get automaticity for a promotion in their respectivejobs and application for visas. Therefore there is a necessity forlecturers to find out an innovative teaching model to use for theirconsumption. A model that should be effective and innovative in thelearning and teaching of English for foreign language learners thatcaters for local needs. This research is to find out the innovativeteaching and learning of English at English First (EF) which is situatedat Kayun, Surabaya. There are many other institutions that offerTOEFL iBT preparation. However, EF is chosen because of theteaching strategies are unique in a way that the practitioners are veryexperience and they themselves are native speakers of English. It ishoped that this study should be a fruitful effort in finding a goodmodel for teaching English to students who are motivated to learn andyet find it difficult to master the language in a non-Englishenvironment. This study also aims to give more description orinformation about the implementation of the innovative teaching ofTOEFL iBT examination for the lecturers in Adi Buana University intheir English language proficiency courses. Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) adalah tanaman budidaya yang berkhasiat sebagai obat. TOGA dimanfaatkan oleh nenek moyang kita dalam upaya mengatasi masalah kesehatan dengan mewujudkan berbagai bahan bahan tanaman obat. Pemanfaatan tanaman obat keluarga (TOGA) perlu dikembangkan dan disebarluaskan di masyarakat untuk ibu rumah tangga. Sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah para wanita di sekitar wilayah Kepuh Kemiri, Balai Desa KabupatenTulangan. Metode aktivitas yang digunakan adalah metode. Teknik penyelesaian data ini menggunakan teknik observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, perempuan di sekitar wilayah Balai Desa Kepuh Kemiri sangat antusias ketika publikasi proses pembuatan toga instan.

This article examine the effectiveness of Indonesia traditional game, engklek, to upgrade the pupils speaking skills and to minimize the pupils speaking anxiety. The study found that games have several of disadvantages. One of the game are not appropriate to be applied in the upper level (adult) because some of them consider that games are bothering. Other study claims that games give several kinds of advantages in the teaching and learning activities and it is suitable to be applied for any level of age. The clashing research findings from both studies lead the researcher’s curiosity to investigate the effectiveness of Indonesia traditional game to boost university pupils speaking skills. The designs adopt in this study are experimental design and descriptive design. The results showed that the treatment given to the experimental group (engklek game) is able to give an impact to increase the score of pupils speaking skills that is higher than the control group (presentation technique). The majority of the pupils agree that engklek game is effective to upgrade the pupils speaking fluency, lessen the pupils anxiety, and boost the pupils motivation, cognitive and social skills.Penelitian ini menguji keefektifan permainan tradisional Indonesia, engklek, untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dan mengurangi kecemasan berbicara siswa. Salah satu penelitian menemukan bahwa permainan memiliki beberapa kekurangan, salah satunya yaitu permainan tidak seharusnya diterapkan di level atas (dewasa) karena beberapa di antaranya menganggap hal tersebut tersebut mengganggu dan merepotkan. Dalam penelitian lain, dinyatakan bahwa permainan menawarkan beberapa macam keunggulan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dan cocok untuk diterapkan di segala tingkatan usia. Temuan penelitian yang saling bertabrakan dari kedua studi tersebut mendorong rasa keingintahuan peneliti untuk menyelidiki keefektifan permainan tradisional Indonesia dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara para mahasiswa. Penelitian ini mengadopsi desain eksperimental dan desain deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan yang diberikan kepada kelompok eksperimen (engklek) mampu memberikan dampak peningkatan pada skor speaking siswa yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (teknik presentasi). Mayoritas siswa setuju bahwa permainan engklek efektif untuk meningkatkan kefasihan berbicara siswa, mengurangi kecemasan siswa, dan meningkatkan motivasi, keterampilan kognitif, dan sosial siswa.

Technology is now becoming an unavoidable part of Indonesian students’ life. The application of digital tools have facilitated the students to expand their knowledge and develop their learning. At the same time, it helps to plant learning autonomy toward the students. This paper aimed to explore the teachers’ experiences in applying the digital assessment by using in- depth interview and classroom observation. The teachers can gain a lot of advantages by applying the digital assessment in their teaching and learning activities. It saves a lot of teachers’ time, it breaks the barriers between teachers and students in terms of meeting time and at the same time it also helps to reduce students’ anxiety during the assessment. However, during the application of the digital assessment there were several difficulties faced by the teachers, namely the internet connection, the misconception among the students because the students did not comprehend well regarding the teachers’ feedback as well as there may be a possibility for the students to cheat during the assessment since they can do it anywhere not only in the campus. The teachers’ mastery in technology indirectly can also help the development of Indonesia’s education system. Teknologi kini menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan siswa Indonesia. Penerapan perangkat digital telah memfasilitasi siswa untuk memperluas pengetahuan dan mengembangkan cara belajar mereka. Pada saat yang bersamaan, perangkat digital juga membantu menanamkan otonomi belajar kepada siswa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman para guru dalam menerapkan penilaian secara digital dengan menggunakan wawancara secara intensif dan observasi kelas. Para guru dapat memperoleh banyak keuntungan dengan menerapkan penilaian secara digital dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar mereka. Penilaian dengan cara seperti ini menghemat banyak waktu guru, menjembatani jarak antara guru dan siswa dalam hal waktu pertemuan dan pada saat yang sama juga membantu mengurangi kecemasan siswa selama penilaian. Namun, dalam penerapannya, terdapat beberapa kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh para guru, yaitu koneksi internet, kesalahpahaman di antara siswa karena siswa tidak memahami dengan baik tentang umpan balik guru dan terdapat kemungkinan siswa menyontek selama ujian karena mereka dapat melakukannya di mana saja, tidak hanya di area kampus. Penguasaan guru tentang teknologi secara tidak langsung juga dapat membantu pengembangan sistem pendidikan di Indonesia.

The complexities of skills in the Pronunciation created many hindrances for the students in mastering the Pronunciation Practice subject. Most of the first semester students of Adi Buana University were failed during the mid test since they have very little background knowledge of the Pronunciation skills and they tend to get bored during the teaching and learning activities. The writer tried to apply the story telling technique in the middle of the semester to foster the pronunciation skills to the first semester undergraduate students of English Department as well as to arouse the students’ motivation in learning pronunciation. The result showed a significant progress on the final test score of the students and it also gave a good impact toward the students’ motivation in learning Pronunciation.
