Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government had implemented a policy which changed face-to-face learning to distance learning. However, there is still a need for teachers to optimize the quality of students' education. This goal is in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number four, namely quality education. By getting a quality education, people can break the chain of poverty. Through education, inequality can be reduced, and people can be empowered to live more sustainably and healthily. The purpose of this research was to analyse students' coping strategies during distance learning. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research was conducted in Jakarta from May to June 2021. The population was Universitas Negeri Jakarta students. The sample was selected using a cluster sampling technique of as many as 211 students. Data collection uses a coping strategy scale consisting of 39 items derived from the dimensions of problem-focused coping, emotional-focused coping, and seeking social support. The t-value of 0.110 with sig 0.913 > 0.05 shows no significant difference in average coping strategies between female and male respondents. The ANOVA revealed F-value of 0.329 with sig. 0.805 > 0.05, which means there is no significant difference in the average coping strategy of respondents based on birth order. The results of the analysis showed that the students' coping strategies were in the high category. Over time, students can adapt to the learning techniques used in the classroom. The problem-focused coping dimension has the highest average value, so this research concludes that students focus on dealing with the problem when faced with one. Students try to analyse the causes of the problems they face, plan steps to deal with problems, and make efforts to change the situation carefully. There is no difference in the average value of female and male students' coping strategies. Students are more dominant in using problem-focused coping as an effort to deal with stress when implementing distance learning. Students must be able to overcome their problems with appropriate coping strategies to achieve quality learning in education.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh parental bonding terhadap self-esteem pada anak usia remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dan pendekatan kuantitatif asosiatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada tahun 2022 di wilayah Jakarta. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 81 orang anak usia remaja yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data karakteristik responden, parental bonding, dan self-esteem. Instrumen pengukuran variabel penelitian terdiri atas 25 butir untuk variabel parental bonding dan 10 butir untuk variabel self-esteem. Setiap pernyataan terdiri atas empat pilihan tanggapan, yaitu sangat setuju, setuju, tidak setuju, dan sangat tidak setuju. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-esteem remaja termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Remaja juga memiliki tingkat kedekatan dengan orang tuanya dalam kategori sedang. Hasil uji regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa parental bonding berpengaruh signifikan terhadap self-esteem remaja (β=0,763, p<0,01). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, parental bonding dapat meningkatkan self-esteem pada anak usia remaja. Semakin dekat hubungan antara orang tua dengan anak usia remaja maka semakin baik self-esteem yang dimiliki oleh anak. Dengan demikian, peningkatan kedekatan antara orang tua dan anak dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan self-esteem pada anak, terutama anak usia remaja.   Abstract This study aims to analyze the effect of parental bonding on self-esteem in adolescent children. This study used a cross-sectional design and an associative quantitative approach. Data collection be done in 2022 in the Jakarta area. Respondents in this study were 81 adolescents who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. This study collected data on respondent characteristics, parental bonding, and self-esteem. The research variable measurement instrument comprised 25 parental bonding items and ten self-esteem items variables. Each statement has four response options: strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. Data processing uses descriptive statistics and simple linear regression tests. The study results show that adolescent self-esteem is in the medium category. Teenagers also have a level of closeness with their parents in the medium category. The simple linear regression test results show that parental bonding significantly affects adolescent self-esteem (β=0.763, p<0.01). Based on these results, parental bonding can increase self-esteem in adolescent children. The closer the relationship between parents and adolescents, the better the child's self-esteem. Thus, increasing the closeness between parents and children can be a solution to increase self-esteem in children, especially teenagers.

Abstract

Abstrak: Karakter disiplin penting untuk anak dan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhinya yaitu lingkungan keluarga melalui pelaksanaan fungsi keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keberfungsian keluarga dan pengaruhnya terhadap karakter disiplin siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2024 dengan menggunakan angket. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 275 orang siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik probability sampling. Untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji regresi linear. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya pengaruh keberfungsian keluarga terhadap karakter disiplin siswa di sekolah. Besaran pengaruh kontribusi keberfungsian keluarga terhadap karakter disiplin siswa di sekolah sebesar 16%, sisanya di pengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menguatkan pentingnya keberfungsian keluarga dalam membangun karakter disiplin pada siswa. Orang tua dapat meningkatkan keberfungsian keluarga melalui: komunikasi, kekompakan, aturan dan peran.Abstract: Disciplinary character is important for children and one of the factors that influences it is the family environment through the implementation of family functions. This research aims to analyze family functioning and its influence on students' disciplinary character at school. This research uses quantitative methods. Data collection was carried out in May 2024 using a questionnaire. The respondents in this study were 275 students selected using probability sampling techniques. To answer the research objectives, the data was analyzed using a linear regression test. The results of data analysis show that there is an influence of family functioning on the discipline character of students at school. The magnitude of the contribution of family functioning to the discipline character of students at school is 16%, the remainder is influenced by other factors not examined in this research. The results of this research reinforce the importance of family functioning in building disciplined character in students. Parents can improve family functioning through: communication, cohesiveness, rules and roles.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor self injurypada remaja ditinjau berdasarkan dari dinamika self injury, perilaku self injury, dampak self injury, karakteristik dan latar belakang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan November 2021–Januari 2022. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi melalui perspektif pelaku self injury dan orang terdekatnya. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelituan ini menggunakan purposive sampling dengan kriteria remaja dengan usia 15-18 tahun yang pernah melakukan self injury dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 5 informan. Pengolahan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi ATLAS.ti untuk mengolah data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor self injury disebabkan oleh faktor utama yang bersumber dari permasalahan keluarga seperti, adanya trauma pada masa kecil, kesibukan orang tua, merasa dirinya tidak diperdulikan, tidak memiliki kedekatan secara emosional dan tidak adanya dukungan dari pihak keluarga membuat informan melakukan self injury. Selain itu faktor lainnya disebabkan oleh permasalahan percintaan dan self injury muncul karena adanya kemauan atas diri sendiri pada informan sangat besar untuk melukai dirinya.

Abstract

Adanya pandemi Covid-19 di Indonesia membuat pemerintah menerapkan kebijakan pembelajaran jarak jauh. Dengan keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana yang dimiliki oleh setiap siswa di rumahnya membuat pembelajaran virtual synchronous menjadinya sulit dilakukan secara penuh. Sehingga kemungkinan yang terjadi adalah siswa mengikuti pembelajaran asynchronous yang terdiri dari pembelajaran mandiri dan kolaboratif. Dengan demikian diperlukan kemampuan siswa untuk mau belajar sendiri dan bertanggung jawab atas pilihan belajarnya. Sikap tersebut disebut kemandirian belajar. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memunculkan kesadaran pada diri siswa mengenai pentingnya memiliki sikap kemandirian belajar. Bentuk kegiatan ini adalah perencanaan dan penyuluhan. Perencanaan kegiatan meliputi pembuatan buku saku kemandirian belajar dan uji kelayakan buku. Penyuluhan diikuti oleh 43 orang yang terdiri dari siswa dan guru SMPN 259 Jakarta. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2021. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan selama kegiatan, siswa masih belum memiliki sikap percaya diri, inisiatif, dan motivasi yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan dengan siswa, masih banyak siswa yang belum mandiri dalam belajar. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya intervensi dari keluarga dan sekolah untuk menumbuhkan kemandirian belajar pada diri siswa.The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has forced the government to implement a distance learning policy. However, the limited facilities and infrastructure owned by each student at home make virtual synchronous learning challenging. So that the possibility that occurs is that students take part in asynchronous learning, which consists of independent and collaborative learning. Thus, it requires the ability of students to want to learn on their own and be responsible for their learning choices, called self-directed learning. The purpose of implementing this community service activity is to raise awareness in students about the importance of having self-directed learning. The form of this activity is planning and counseling. Planning activities include making a pocketbook about self-directed learning and a book feasibility test. The counseling was attended by 43 people consisting of students and teachers of JHS 259 Jakarta. This activity was carried out in October 2021. Based on observations during the activity, students still did not have the attitude of self-confidence, initiative, and high motivation. Based on the results of interviews conducted with students, many students are still not independent in learning. Thus, there is a need for intervention from families and schools to foster self-directed learning in students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between parenting style and emotional intelligence in elementary school students in Pasar Minggu District, South Jakarta. This research is a quantitative study using a survey method with a correlational approach. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire directly. Retrieval of data using simple random sampling technique. Sampling was carried out in five schools involving 309 students and parents of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students in Pasar Minggu district, namely MI Al-Hidayatussalafiyah, MI Sirojul Muslimin, MI Al Hikmah, MI Nurul Hidayah JP, and MI Faturrahman. The data collection for this study starts from January 2022 to July 2022. To analyze the relationship between the test variables used is the Spearman rank correlation. Before being tested, the data was tested for prerequisites, namely the normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov. The results showed that there was a relationship between parenting style and students' emotional intelligence of 0.302 with sig. 0.000. Which means that parenting style is significantly related to students' emotional intelligence. The better the parenting style applied by parents, the better the emotional intelligence of students. Thus, parents are advised to apply positive parenting styles, such as the emotional coach parenting style.

Abstract

Abstract: Polite behavior is an important aspect in social interaction, especially among teenagers. The influence of globalization, digital culture, and the social environment makes behavior such as speaking rudely or disrespecting others begin to be considered normal. One factor that can shape polite behavior is peer interaction. This study aims to determine the effect of peer interaction on polite behavior in adolescents in urban areas. The research method used in this study is a survey with an associative approach. The population in this study were students in grades VII and VIII at SMPN Jakarta, with a sample of 199 students taken using a proportional random sampling technique. This study used a non-test instrument in the form of a Likert scale questionnaire distributed online via Google Form. The regression equation test Y ̂ = 49.332 + 0.183x, which means that every one point increase in peer interaction will increase polite behavior in adolescents in urban areas. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.086 indicates that peer interaction contributes 8.6% to polite behavior in adolescents, which means that peer interaction has an influence, although not dominant, on the formation of polite behavior in adolescents in urban areas. The results of this study indicate that peer interactions have a very significant influence on polite behavior and positive social relationships with peers can shape attitudes, norms. Self-control in adolescents that support the formation of polite behavior in everyday life.Abstrak: Perilaku sopan santun merupakan aspek penting dalam interaksi sosial, terutama di kalangan remaja. Pengaruh globalisasi, budaya digital, serta lingkungan sosial membuat perilaku seperti berbicara kasar atau kurang menghormati orang lain mulai dianggap wajar. Salah satu faktor yang dapat membentuk perilaku sopan santun adalah interaksi teman sebaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi teman sebaya terhadap perilaku sopan santun remaja di wilayah perkotaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey dengan pendekatan asosiatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII dan VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Jakarta Utara, dengan sampel sebanyak 199 siswa yang diambil menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen non-tes berupa angket skala likert yang disebarkan secara online melalui Google Form. Hasil uji persamaan regresi Y ̂ = 49,332 + 0,183x, yang berarti setiap satu poin kenaikan interaksi teman sebaya akan menaikan perilaku sopan santun remaja di perkotaan. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,086 menunjukkan bahwa interaksi teman sebaya memberikan kontribusi sebesar 8,6% terhadap perilaku sopan santun remaja, yang berarti interaksi teman sebaya memiliki pengaruh meskipun tidak dominan terhadap pembentukan perilaku sopan santun pada remaja di wilayah perkotaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa interaksi teman sebaya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku sopan santun. Hubungan sosial yang positif dengan teman sebaya dapat membentuk sikap, norma, serta kontrol diri remaja yang mendukung terbentuknya perilaku sopan santun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Strengthening literacy from preschool age impacts children's social, emotional, and critical thinking development. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4, which targets quality and inclusive education for all children. In early literacy development in preschool-aged children, the environment closest to them plays a significant role: the family and school. Therefore, this study aims to develop a Home Literacy Environment (HLE) instrument for preschool-aged children using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The study employs a research and development methodology, specifically the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), to produce a standardized measurement tool. Validation procedures were conducted in three stages: construct validation by three experts, content validation by 14 panellists, and empirical testing involving 165 families with children aged 5–6 years in the Greater Jakarta area. Data were analyzed using CFA to examine factor structure and construct validity. Results indicated that 20 items across the three core dimensions demonstrated adequate factor loadings and significant t-values, with high construct reliability and variance extracted, confirming their validity. Nine indicators of goodness of fit met the criteria. Overall, the model was deemed sufficiently fit and suitable for further interpretation. This study supports the broad applicability of the HLE as a valid measure of the literacy environment created at home for preschool children. By providing a validated HLE instrument, educators, researchers, and policymakers are equipped to assess and enhance the literacy support provided at home. This result enables targeted interventions and informed decision-making to strengthen early learning foundations and promote inclusive, equitable education from the earliest years.
