Abstract

Penelitian tentang efektivitas ekstrak daun ruku – ruku (Ocimum tenuiflorum L) yang berasal dari daerah Bener Meriah Provinsi Aceh terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat dari daun ruku-ruku yang diekstrak menggunakan etanol secara maserasi pada konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 40%, dan 70% terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental Laboratorium dengan metode difusi disk (cara cakram). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun ruku-ruku (Ocimum tenuiflorum L) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Escherichia coli yaitu pada konsentasi 40% dan 70% dengan zona hambat masing-masing sebesar 17 mm dan 19 mm, sedangkan pada konsentrasi 10% dan 20% tidak didapatkan zona hambat (0 mm). Dari besaran zona hambat yang diperoleh pada konsentrasi 40% dan 70 % tersebut maka dapat dinyatakan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun ruku-ruku (Ocimum Tenuiflorum L.) efektif menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dengan katagori kuat.Kata Kunci : daun ruku-ruku, Escherichia coli, uji daya hambat.ABSTRACTResearch on the inhibition of ruku - ruku leaf extract (Ocimum tenuiflorum L) from the Bener Meriah of Provinsi Aceh against the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria has been carried out. This study aims to determine the inhibition of ruku - ruku leaf extract using ethanol by maceration at concentrations of 10%, 20%, 40%, and 70% against Escherichia coli bacteria. This research was conducted in an experimental laboratory with the disc diffusion method. The results showed that the ethanol extract of ruku-ruku leaves (Ocimum tenuiflorum L) could inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli at a concentration of 40% and 70% with an inhibit zone of 17 mm and 19 mm respectively, while at concentrations of 10% and 20% there is not obtained of inhibit zone (0 mm). From the large inhibition zone obtained at concentrations of 40% and 70%, it can be said that the ethanol extract of ruku-ruku leaves (Ocimum Tenuiflorum L.) can inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria in the strong category.Keyword : ruku-ruku leaves, Escherichia coli, inhibition test.

Abstract

Lipstick or lip dye is a cosmetic dose that serves to coloring, decorative the lips, as a moisturizing material and protect the lips from exposure the sun to provide optimum results. Lipstick should not contain chemicals such as lead (Pb) because the Pb is a heavy metal that is very dangerous when continuously used on the skin, because it will be absorbed into the blood and attack the body organ causing the onset of disease. According to BPOM that the lead rate on the lipstick does not exceed the permissible limit of 20 mg/kg or 20 ppm.This research aims to know the levels contained in the samples are 4 brands of matte lipstick that are sold in the Aceh market in Banda Aceh City with the method of atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS). The results showed that on the 4 brands of lipstick matte contain heavy metal lead (Pb) with a rate still qualified allowed by BPOM  is samples A, B, C, and D, respectively at 0.24 ppm; 0.10 ppm; 2.87 ppm and 1.32 ppm, so that the 4 brands of lipstick matte are still used.

Abstract

The use of waste oil that can cause health problems. The disturbance is caused by the high peroxide number triggered by oxidation and hydrolysis of oil in the presence of free fatty acids and high water content. Reuse of waste oil can be done with several alternatives such as the addition of natural antioxidants or synthesis. This study aimed to determine the effect of soaking wet and dry chocolate fruit on the quality of waste oil. The parameters seen are water content, acid numbers, peroxide numbers and free fatty acid levels. The moisture content was determined by the oven drying method, acid numbers and free fatty acid levels by the alkalimetry titration method, and peroxide number by the iodometry method. The results showed that the waste oil soaked on the exocarp of dried cacao is more optimal in reducing the peroxide number by 38.71%, while soaking with wet exocarp is only 12.14%. Moisture content increased by 0.08% on soaking with the exocarp of dried cacao, whereas wet exsocarp is 1.63%. Acid number increased 17.42% in soaking with the exocarp of dried cacao, whereas wet exocarp is 36%. Free fatty acid levels increased 0.64% in dumping with dried exocarp, while soaking with the exocarp of wet cacao increased by 0.82%.

Abstract

Cellulose had been isolated from rice husk waste and sawdust with chemical method through hydrolysis with HCl 2.5 N and bleaching process with  H2O23%.The yields were 13,45% and 22,75% (w/w) of cellulose from rice husk waste and sawdust, respectively. The chemical treatment caused partial removal of lignin and hemicellulose from raw material showed by FTIR spectrum.  Structure and morphology of cellulose from rice husk waste and sawdust were investigated using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The XRD patterns showed cellulose structure converted from amorphous to crystalline form after bleaching process while SEM images showed that the isolated cellulose from rice husk waste had rougher surface than cellulose from sawdust. The SEM micrograph also showed that the isolated cellulose from rice husk was in the form of aggregates.

Abstract

Pemanis buatan merupakan bahan tambahan yang dapat memberikan rasa manis dalam makanan dan minuman, tetapi tidak memiliki nilai gizi. Natrium siklamat termasuk pemanis buatan umum digunakan oleh industri makanan atau minuman yang memiliki sifat sangat mudah larut dalam air dan mempunyai tingkat kemanisan 30 kali dari gula pasir. Batas Maksimum penggunaan Natrium siklamat pada minuman ringan telah ditetapkan oleh Kepala Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan No. 4 Tahun 2014 yaitu 350 mg/kg bahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar Natrium Siklamat pada minuman serbuk instan secara Spektrofotometri UV-Visible. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah minuman serbuk instan yang pada kemasan tertulis mengandung natruim siklamat, dan sampel dianalisis menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Visible pada panjang gelombang 314 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan natrium siklamat pada sampel A,B, dan C masing-masing sebesar 488,31 mg/kg, 536,81 mg/kg dan 665,57 mg/kg. Kadar natrium siklamat dalam ketiga sampel melebihi batas standar persyaratan yang ditetapkan oleh BPOM No. 4 Tahun 2014 dalam minuman ringan.

Abstract

Cosmetics are a very important need for women, one type of cosmetics that must be owned by women is lipstick. Lipstick is a lip color that has many colors. Rhodamine B is a synthetic dye that is prohibited for use in cosmetics and is declared a dangerous substance. This study aims to identify the presence or absence of Rhodamine B in gloss and matte sold in the city of Banda Aceh using the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method. The population in this study was a sample of lipstick sold in the city of Banda Aceh with a sampling technique using a purposive sampling method. The criteria for lipstick taken from the gloss liquid, homogeneous, sharp smelling, red and purplish pink in color. Whereas matte has a semi-solid and smooth texture, has a purplish pink color and smells of lipstick in general and has a BPOM or not BPOM statement. Observations were made by looking at the stains under a 254 nm UV lamp. The results of this study were that of the eight samples, non-BPOM SS samples tested positive for Rhodamine B, with an Rf of 0.68 which is in line with the standard Rf value. In accordance with the requirements of the Regulation of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2019 concerning technical requirements for prohibited dyestuffs in cosmetics.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang uji kuantitati vitamin C pada sayuran yang telah mengalami pemanasan telah dilakukan, yang bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar vitamin C pada sayuran segar akibat proses pemanasan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang maksimum 265 nm. Kadar vitamin C pada sayuran segar seperti Sawi, Kacang Panjang, Bayam, Kangkung dan Brokoli masing-masing sebesar 0,013 mg/g; 0,015 mg/g; 0,023 mg/g; 0,020 mg/g dan 0,020 mg/g. Sedangkan kadar vitamin C dari masing-masing sayuran yang telah direbus berturut – turut sebesar 0,012 mg/g; 0.008; 0 mg/g; 0,004 mg/g; 0,013 mg/g. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada sayuran yang telah mengalami pemanasan (rebus) terjadi penurunan kadar vitamin C. Kadar vitamin C pada sayuran segar lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kadar vitamin C pada sayuran yang telah mengalami pemanasan. Kata Kunci : vitamin C, sayuran, spektrofotometri UV-Vis.

Abstract

Sabun padat transparan merupakan salah satu jenis sabun padat yang memiliki busa lembut dan tampak tembus pandang. Penambahan ekstrak daun sisik naga dapat difungsikan untuk menjaga kesehatan kulit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui formulasi dan stabilitas sabun yang memenuhi syarat SNI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental laboratorium. Sampel dibuat dalam 4 formula yaitu F0 tanpa ektrak daun sisik naga, F1 mengandung daun sisik naga sebesar 0,20%, F2 sebesar 0,30%, dan F3 sebesar 0,40%. Parameter yang diuji yaitu organoleptik, pH, stabilitas busa, kadar air, dan alkali bebas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk sabun padat, warna yang bervariasi yaitu warna putih bening (F0), kuning bening (F1), putih kekuningan (F2), dan kuning (F3) dengan bau lemon yang ditambahkan sebagai pewangi. Dari keempat formulasi sediaan sabun tersebut diperoleh nilai pH 10,1, sedangkan untuk nilai stabilitas busa diperoleh berturut-turut sebesar 60,4%, 63,7%, 65,0%, 67,8%, nilai kadar air diperoleh sebesar 3,1%, 3,0%, 2,7%, 2,6%, dan nilai alkali bebas dari keempat formula tersebut diperoleh sebanyak 0,188%, 0,180%, 0,136%, 0,2%. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menghasilkan sabun padat transparan yang memiliki nilai pH, stabilitas busa, dan kadar air yang sesuai standar mutu, sedangkan nilai alkali bebas diperoleh hasil diatas nilai yang ditetapkan. Kata Kunci : Sabun Padat Transparan, Uji Stabilitas, Ekstrak Daun Sisik Naga (Pyrrosia piloselloides ).

Abstract

Siklamat adalah pemanis buatan yang diizinkan untuk dikonsumsi berdasarkan Permenkes no 033 tahun 2012. Peraturan Kepala BPOM RI NO 4 Tahun 2014 menetapkan bahwa konsumsi zat ini per hari maksimal 11 mg/Kg Berat Badan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk mengetahui kandungan natrium siklamat pada minuman teh poci yang dijual di Kecamatan Baiturrahman kota Banda Aceh dan mengetahui kadarnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di laboratorium Akafarma Banda Aceh menggunakan metode gravimetri. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 teh poci yang dijual di Kecamatan Baiturrahman kota Banda Aceh yang diambil secara totally sampling. Hasil Penelitian didapatkan bahwa kelima sampel yang diuji yaitu positif mengandung natrium siklamat dengan kadar sampel A-E berturut-turut sebesar 14.73 mg/ BB, 10.34 mg/ BB.4.69 mg/ BB; 9.87 mg/ BB; dan 8.30 mg/ BB. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kadar natrium siklamat pada sampel A tidak memenuhi persyaratan BPOM, sedangkan sampel B, C, D dan E masih memenuhi persyaratan BPOM.
