ABSTRACTThis research aims to revisit the relationship between two cultural dimensions index (masculinity and power distance) and corruption – as indicated in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI). Two hypotheses were proposed: An increase in the masculinity index increases corruption and an increase in the power distance index increases corruption. Using the latest CPI data from 2012 to 2016 of 67 countries, this research found that the increase in masculinity does not significantly increase corruption. Meanwhile, it is noticed that the increase in power distance significantly increases corruption. Better understanding on such relationship will provide valuable input on how cultural approach is important to fine tune the design of corruption eradication strategy, particularly in Indonesia. At the end, proper strategy will contribute the improvement of Indonesia’s CPI, which will eventually improving Indonesia’s business environment for the investo

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries prone to disasters. Data from the Disaster Information Indonesia (DIBI) indicates that between 2019 and 2023, there were 15,928 disasters with 18,872,310 casualties. The high frequency of disaster occurrences and their impacts necessitates disaster preparedness. Generally, the readiness index of the Indonesian population in terms of emergency response is classified as inadequate. Tasikmalaya Regency ranks second among disaster-prone areas in Indonesia, with Cipatujah Subdistrict being the most vulnerable subdistrict within Tasikmalaya Regency. One of the vulnerable villages in Cipatujah Subdistrict is Sindangkerta Village. A dedicated team from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Siliwangi University, in coordination with the Tasikmalaya Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Kabupaten Tasikmalaya) and in partnership with Dompet Dhuafa, conducted activities to raise awareness and simulate disaster preparedness. These activities took place on August 5, 2019, involving 46 students from vocational high schools in Sindangkerta. The awareness-raising activities utilized PowerPoint presentations and posters, while the simulation exercises were conducted in the field. The evaluation of the activities was carried out through real-time monitoring. The activities ran smoothly, as the participants actively engaged with enthusiasm and demonstrated a high level of curiosity."Bagian Atas Formulir

Abstract

This article discusses ecotheology in the perspective of Christianity by examining Genesis 1:26–28 and Psalm 24 as biblical foundations for human responsibility toward the environment. The purpose of this study is to explore the theological understanding of the cultural mandate and divine ownership in relation to the preservation of creation. The research employed a library study method with a qualitative-descriptive approach, analyzing biblical texts, theological literature, and previous studies. The findings show that humans are called to be stewards of creation, not arbitrary rulers, so that the management of nature must be carried out with full accountability to God. The integration of Genesis 1:26–28 and Psalm 24 provides a theological framework that emphasizes the balance between authority and ecological responsibility. Thus, Christian ecotheology is not merely conceptual but also a practical calling for the church and believers to make environmental preservation an integral part of faith and worship to God.
