Abstract

Abstrak: Tujun dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan buku pegangan Reading Two melalui strategi monitoring. Kemampuan membaca adalah salah satu aspek keberhasilan seorang pelajar dalam mencapai target yang mereka inginkan. Sedangkan strategi monitoring adalah salah satu metode metakognitif, meta kognitif dapat juga disebut dengan “thinking of thinking”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R N D (Research and Development) dengan beberapa prosedur yaitu; identifying the problem dengan need analysis, literature study, need survey, writing manuscript, expert judgement, test drive, revision dan publishing. Setelah melakukan analisa peneliti mendapatkan beberapa masalah yang mereka hadapi dalam pembelajaran Reading Two yaitu; kurangnya strategi dalam membaca, kurangnya kosa kata Bahasa Inggris yang mereka kuasai dan lemahnya pemahaman struktur dalam ilmu Bahasa Inggris. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa banyak dari mereka tidak mempunyai buku pegangan yang cocok dalam materi reading 2, selain itu mereka juga butuh materi yang sesuai dengan kondisi serta kebutuhan mereka. Sehingga untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut peneliti telah mengembangkan buku reading 2 khusus mahasiswa INKAFA Gresik yang berdomisili didalam pondok pesantren mambaus sholihin.Keywords: Reading Comprehension, Monitoring

Abstract

Online collaborative learning is learning that focuses on group cohesiveness with the success of the process. The inspiration that drives this assessment is to investigate the impact of the use of online collaborative learning on students' ability to write descriptive texts. it's done in MTS. BUSTANUL ULUM in the second class of juniors to find out whether online collaborative learning is effective learning, researchers used pre-experimental methods where information was calculated using the statistical formula of the T-test. the consequence of exploration was that the mean of the pre-test was 60.4063, and the mean of the post-test was 84.4688. From the questionnaire, there were students who agreed with the online collaborative learning method that had helped them in writing descriptive text. It can be concluded that student achievement increases when they are educated by collaborative learning online.

Abstract

Purpose - This research aims to understand the development of English book material for Grammar at Mambaus Sholihin English Course (MEC) Gresik. Design/methodology/approach - This research applied the Educational Research and Development (RnD) to develop the contents. This research method deals with the researcher’s purpose wants to be aimed by need analysis, drafting the document, organizing material, review, expert validation, revision I, try out, and correction II. Findings - This product has been suitable for the students’ needs to help them in learning grammar to be easier understood and practiced. The result shows that book is appropriated with the purposed to help them who need this research and development in relaxed and fun learning of grammar notification. Also, this book is completed with direct method although it is used in speaking skill more, it is also suitable for grammar in learning and teaching. Originality/value - It is important for a teacher or tutor to innovate in designing a teaching book that suits the needs of students. Especially for students who do not have a study handbook. Abstract

This study was aimed at investigating the use of Edmodo, an online learning platform in a Garuda Maintenance Facility class in Electronic Engineering study program of State Polytechnic of Malang. In addition, students’ perception toward the use of Edmodo was also explored to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of Edmodo. This study also investigated teacher’s activities that have been done via Edmodo. The activities done by students via Edmodo are presented in the result of this study to inspire other teachers about how to use Edmodo effectively. This  study was a case study since it described and analyzed a group in a classroom setting to gain understanding through activities done in the classroom.  Survey and interviews were used to collect the data about students’ perception and the description of classroom activities. The results showed that students had positive perceptions towards the use of Edmodo since it accomodated their need to apply technology in their learning. In addition, it could also encourage shy students who tended to be discouraged when interacted and participated without the aid of online tool in the classroom. Students also mentioned some obstacles encountered during the use of Edmodo such as slow internet connection and limited data package that was needed to connect to the internet. However, it can be concluded that the implementation of Edmodo in GMF class gained positive response. In addition, students also appreciated various activities conducted via Edmodo. It can be added that Edmodo as a learning platform is not only used to replace lecturer’s absence, but it can accomodate various learning activities that can increase communication skills in English.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the empirical evidence of enriching students’ vocabulary through project-based learning (PjBL). Project-based learning (Project Based Learning) is a learning method that uses projects as the core of learning. This is an innovative learning method that involves project work where students work independently in constructing their learning and culminating in real products. The researcher uses experiments and samples are students of the second grade of junior high in Sugihwaras Bojonegoro. The result shows that the pretest average of the experimental group is 2.100. The post-test average of the experimental group is 2.500. The obtained t-test is 15, 20, whereas the t-table is 2, 02 for a = 5%. The t-test score is higher than the t-table (15, 20> 2, 02). It means that Ha is accepted while Ho is rejected. Since the t-test score was higher than the t-table, that can include project-based learning were an effective model in enriching students’ vocabulary of English learning process at the second grade of Islamic Junior High in Sugihwaras Bojonegoro.

Abstract

Reading is the most and useful skill for people. It is an activity that can update any information or knowledge. This research aims to know the effect of CIRC strategy on students' reading comprehension skills in the description text. This study used a quasi-experimental in which design involves two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The research was conducted in the experimental class consists of 20 students, and the control class consists of 20 students. The results show that The minimum score of pre-tests in the experiment class was 44, and the maximum was 84. While the minimum score of pre-tests in the control class was 44and, the ceiling was 78. On the other side, the mean of each group was different. The mean score of the pre-test experiment was 68,00, and the mean score of pre-test control was 61,50, and The minimum score of post-tests in the experiment class was 80, and the maximum was 92. While the minimum score of post-tests in the control class was 68, and the maximum was 84. On the other side, the mean of each group was different. The mean score of the post-test experiment was 85,00, and the mean score of post-test control was 75,30.

Abstract

Online gamification learning is an imaginative methodology that expects to build manufacturing clients' commitment and motivation. The inspiration driving this assessment was to investigate the impacts of the utilization of online gamification learning on students’ motivation and students' writing descriptive text. The study was conducted at MTs. Mambaus Sholihin Gresik in class VIII I. To know whether online gamification learning is effective, the researcher utilized a pre-experimental method in which the information was tried by a statistical formula of t-test. The consequence of the exploration is the mean of the pre-test was 66.3810 and the mean of the post-test was 80.2143. The questionnaire appeared that students who agree with the method of online gamification learning have motivated and helped them in writing descriptive text. It can be concluded that the students' motivation and students’ accomplishment in writing descriptive text is improved when they are educated by online gamification learning.
