Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of class VIII students. The aim of the research is to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Discovery Learning model on students' mathematical communication skills, by comparing the experimental class that uses the Discovery Learning model and the control class that uses conventional learning. This research method is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design in two groups (Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design). The research subjects consisted of students from class VIII-A as the control class and VIII-B as the experimental class, each numbering 25 people at SMP Negeri 2 Takokak. The data collection technique uses instruments to test students' mathematical communication skills on the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). Students' mathematical communication ability tests were given twice at pretest and posttest. Data processing and analysis uses the Microsoft Excel 2021 application and SPSS 25 software. The results of the research show that the effectiveness of students' mathematical communication skills who learn through the Discovery Learning model is better than conventional learning.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection that attacks the lungs. Tuberculosis is a dangerous disease that can cause death. In overcoming it, a safe and effective treatment is needed so that this disease can be cured. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential activity of the active compounds derived from xanthones contained in the mangosteen rind as an inhibitor of Mycobacterium tuberculosis protein with the comparison compound Isoniazid. The active compounds used in this study were α-mangostin, β-mangostin, γ-mangostin, garsinon, gartanin, and 8-deoxygartanin. This research uses the molecular docking method with Yasara, MarvinSketch, PubChem, PDB, and Plants 1.1 software. The results showed that the Gibss energy produced by each test ligand had a difference value, either lower or higher than the native ligand protein of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Lipinski screening was done to make it easier to determine a molecule or compound based on its permeability and absorption properties. The results showed that gartanin and 8-deoxygartanin complied with Lipinski's rules. Prediction of pharmacokinetic properties and toxicity was carried out using the pkCSM website and can be concluded that gartanin and 8-deoxygartanin compounds have good pharmacokinetic properties and low toxicity.

Abstract

Teknologi berkembang dengan pesat dalam berbagai bidang salah satunya bidang komunikasi. Alat komunikasi dibuat canggih, manusia bisa terhubung satu sama lain dalam jarak yang berjauhan, alat itu adalah gadget. Gadget memiliki manfaat dan dampak buruk jika penggunaannya salah dan berlebihan. Salah satu dampak buruk gadget adalah terganggunya interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pemanfaatan gadget dengan interaksi sosial pada remaja. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel 85 orang yang merupakan siswa SMA dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan pengisian kuesioner tertutup. Kuesioner pemanfaatan gadget memiliki 16 pertanyaan dan interaksi sosial sebanyak 10 pertanyaan. Analisa univariat menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan analisa bivariat menggunakan uji Chi square. Hasil penelitian bahwa mayoritas jenis kelamin perempuan 53 (62.4%), usia remaja 17 tahun sebanyak 40 orang (47.1%), mayoritas remaja memanfaatkan gadget secara positif 62 (72.9%), remaja dengan interaksi sosial positif 62 (72.9%). Hasil uji korelasi Chi Square didapat Pvalue = 0,000 (<0,005) yang berarti ada hubungan pemanfaatan gadget dengan interaksi sosial pada remaja. Hasil penelitian diharapkan remaja dapat memanfaatkan gadget dengan baik sehingga interaksi sosial tidak terganggu.

Abstract

Basic math training plays an important role in preparing students for the National Selection Based Test (SNBT), which is one of the entry pathways to public universities in Indonesia. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of academic ability test training in improving the readiness of XII grade students of Pasundan Majalaya High School to face SNBT 2024. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a case study approach. The study population was all XII grade students of Pasundan Majalaya High School who participated in the training program. Data were collected through observations and tests conducted before and after the training. Data analysis was conducted to measure the improvement of students' academic ability and readiness. The results showed that the academic proficiency test training implemented at Pasundan Majalaya High School was effective in improving students' pre and post test results. There was a significant increase in proficiency test scores through pre and post test results. In addition, the training also helped students in developing time management skills, problem solving strategies, and critical thinking skills. The findings suggest that structured and comprehensive training can significantly improve students' academic readiness, thus helping them to face SNBT more confidently and competitively. This research is expected to contribute to the preparation of Pasundan Majalaya High School students for college entrance selection.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the application of Islamic values in literature learning in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. The main focus of the research is how Islamic values can be harmonized and applied in literary materials holistically, so as to build a deeper understanding for students. Using qualitative methods and interviews, this research identifies challenges and solutions in the implementation of Islamic values, particularly in relation to efforts to prevent controversy in its application. In addition, this research evaluates the impact of the implementation of Islamic values on learners' attitudes, both in terms of literary and religious understanding. The results of the study are expected to provide effective guidance for the implementation of Islamic value-based literature learning, while enriching the learner's literacy experience without causing conflict or significant differences in views. The implementation of Islamic values is expected to create uan inclusive, tolerant, and multicultural learning environment. Keywords: islamic values, literature learning, merdeka curriculum, multicultural education, controversy AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis penerapan nilai-nilai Islam dalam pembelajaran sastra pada konteks Kurikulum Merdeka. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah bagaimana nilai- nilai Islam dapat diselaraskan dan diterapkan dalam materi sastra secara holistik, sehingga mampu membangun pemahaman yang lebih mendalam bagi peserta didik. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan wawancara, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi berbagai tantangan dan solusi dalam implementasi nilai-nilai Islam tersebut, khususnya terkait upaya untuk mencegah munculnya kontroversi dalam penerapannya. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengevaluasi dampak implementasi nilai-nilai Islam terhadap sikap peserta didik, baik dalam pemahaman sastra maupun agama. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan panduan yang efektif bagi penerapan pembelajaran sastra berbasis nilai keislaman, sekaligus memperkaya pengalaman literasi peserta didik tanpa menimbulkan konflik atau perbedaan pandangan yang signifikan. Abstract

Warukawung Village, Depok District, Cirebon Regency, holds significant potential in education, the furniture industry, and the environment but faces challenges such as low reading interest, plastic waste management, and limited skills in furniture business management. This article discusses the Community Service Program (KKN) initiative aimed at addressing these issues through two main programs: Ecobrick education and the construction of the Ecobrick Literacy Park. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was employed, involving active participation from the community at every stage, from planning to evaluation. The Ecobrick education program at SDN 1 Warukawung involved 5th-grade students to raise environmental awareness and provide plastic waste management skills, where students were taught to create Ecobricks, later used to beautify the school garden. The Ecobrick Literacy Park project at the Warukawung Village Hall created a public space that supports literacy activities and promotes environmental awareness. Using Ecobricks for park elements such as benches, tables, and bookshelves, the park also includes a mini-library made from Ecobricks. Through the PAR approach, community participation ensured that the program was relevant and beneficial. The outcomes successfully improved the quality of education, environmental awareness, and community empowerment, providing long-term benefits for the village. Sustainability recommendations include regular teacher training, environmental education programs, and the formation of a literacy park maintenance group to ensure lasting benefits for the community.

Abstract

Mathematics plays a significant role in developing science and technology (also known as IPTEK in Indonesian). However, students' understanding of the contribution of mathematics to the progress of IPTEK still needs to be improved. This study examines the knowledge of senior high school students (also known as SMA in Indonesian) regarding the role of mathematics in developing IPTEK. The method used is a quantitative survey, and questionnaires were distributed to SMA PGRI Cicalengka students. The data obtained were analyzed to determine the level of students' understanding of the relationship between mathematics and its applications in various fields of science, such as physics, biology, and technology. The study results showed that although most students understand mathematics is important in IPTEK, most still need to learn its specific applications in modern technology and scientific innovation. This study suggests the need for more contextual and applicable learning about the role of mathematics in the development of IPTEK so that students can better appreciate and understand the contribution of mathematics in everyday life.

Abstract

COVID-19 is a global health epidemic due to increasing infections and deaths. Indonesia has many confirmed cases with high daily case growth, including the Bandung City and Bandung Regency areas. High mobility between regions can impact the growth of COVID-19 cases. Strategies to prevent the growth of COVID-19 cases need to be carried out by considering the growth of COVID-19 cases in the nearest area. The Vector Autoregression (VAR) model is a forecasting model that can consider geographic impacts. This study aims to model the growth of cases in adjacent areas and have high mobility using the VAR method. The growth of COVID-19 cases in Bandung City and Bandung Regency is integrated into the VAR model to see the impact of each other. The VAR model also considers the impact of case growth in the past on its region's future. Transformation and differencing are carried out on the time series of case growth in each region to achieve time-series stationarity so that the VAR model can be carried out. First-order VAR becomes a model representing the growth of COVID-19 cases in Bandung City and Bandung Regency. The model shows that COVID-19 cases in each region will decrease over time and each region impacts each other. Decreasing cases growth can be caused because people who have been infected and vaccinated have sound immune systems to prevent re-infection. However, prevention still needs to be done to stop the pandemic. Therefore, restrictions on mobility between regions can be used as a strategy to prevent COVID-19 infection.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengembangan produk berupa Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik berorientasi Keterampilan Proses Sains materi keanekaragaman hayati sub materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup pada peserta didik SMA kelas X yang valid dan praktis serta dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terbatas dengan tahapan Analyze, Design, dan Development. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024 di kelas X SMA Gajah Mada 3 Palembang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada uji coba kelompok kecil dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 12 peserta didik pada kelas X. Indikator KPS yang dipilih adalah mengelompokan/klasifikasi, menafsirkan/interpretasi, berkomunikasi dan mengamati/observasi. Hasil persentase dari tiap indicator KPS adalah 91,6%; 89,5%; 85,4%; dan 83,3%.
