Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to identify and describe the management, activities and strategies of the Arabic Language MGMP Forum in developing the pedagogic competence of Arabic teachers in Central Java. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, questionnaires and documentation studies. Interviews were conducted with the committee, while the questionnaire was given to members of the Central Java Arabic Language MGMP Forum. The results showed that the Central Java Arabic MGMP Forum was optimal in developing the pedagogic competence of Arabic teachers in Central Java. This is evidenced by some programs that adapt to the needs of teachers, but from a management perspective it needs to be improved so that it can run optimally. First, there is a need for management of the Arabic Language MGMP Forum in each city or district in Central Java. Second, there is a need for regular meetings of the core board of the Central Java Arabic MGMP Forum and City/Regency level administrators on a regular basis either offline or online. Third, there needs to be a socialization of the programs of the Central Java Arabic MGMP Forum to Arabic language teachers in Central Java, so that the enthusiasm of members is higher. Fourth, the Central Java Arabic MGMP Forum must increase collaboration with external organizations to jointly support and develop teachers’ pedagogy through the MGMP Forum, collaboration can be done with universities, language centers, and education policy makers from the Ministry of Education and Culture and/or the Ministry of Religion at the provincial level as well as the provincial government or district/city governments in Central Java.

Abstract

This study explores the concept and implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in Arabic language learning at the high school level. Introduced in 2019, the Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes humanistic and innovative learning through differentiated approaches, project-based learning, and holistic assessments. This research employs a literature study method with a qualitative approach, analyzing 34 references, including books, academic journals, and supporting documents. Findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum provides teachers with flexibility in selecting methods and teaching materials while encouraging students to learn actively and independently. The curriculum encompasses intracurricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular learning aimed at developing character and 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy. However, its implementation faces challenges, including limited teacher understanding, resource constraints, and administrative hurdles. In the context of Arabic language learning, the main challenges include a lack of innovative teaching materials and teacher training. This study recommends intensive teacher training, increased access to technology, and the development of learning resources as strategic steps to support the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. By addressing these obstacles, the curriculum holds significant potential to improve educational quality and prepare students to face challenges and opportunities in the global era.

Abstract

Globalisasi telah membawa dampak yang signifikan terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Indonesia, yang telah mengalami transformasi dari masa ke masa. Globalisasi dengan segala dinamika dan kompleksitasnya, memberikan dampak besar pada pembelajaran bahasa Arab melalui pengaruh teknologi, perubahan kurikulum, serta diversifikasi tujuan pembelajaran. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi literatur, penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa globalisasi memberikan peluang besar untuk meningkatkan akses pembelajaran bahasa Arab melalui aplikasi daring, media digital, dan platform berbasis teknologi. Bahasa Arab yang sebelumnya berfokus pada kebutuhan keagamaan kini telah meluas penggunaannya ke bidang diplomasi, ekonomi, dan akademik. Namun globalisasi juga membawa beberapa tantangan seperti dominasi bahasa asing yang mengurangi penggunaannya di berbagai aspek kehidupan dan rendahnya penguasaan teknologi di kalangan pendidik. Transformasi pembelajaran ini membutuhkan upaya adaptasi metode pembelajaran yang inovatif. Penguasaan teknologi, serta pengembangan kurikulum yang relevan dengan tuntutan zaman. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa meskipun globalisasi menghadirkan tantangan, peluang besar tetap terbuka untuk mempertahankan eksistensi bahasa Arab melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang modern dan inklusif.

Abstract

The study aims to provide a philosophical foundation for character education development in Indonesia, advocating for a value-based curriculum that fosters integrity in students. This study explores the integration of the value of honesty into the educational curriculum through a philosophical framework involving ontology, epistemology, and axiology. Honesty as a central tenet in Islamic teachings and character education, faces significant challenges in its implementation in the modern era, particularly with the pervasive influence of digital culture and the weakening of moral awareness. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilizes a literature review to examine various sources related to education and philosophy. The findings suggest that the integration of honesty should not be limited to teaching materials but must permeate school culture through role modeling by educators and the habitual practice of honest behavior. A curriculum emphasizing honesty can contribute to producing individuals who are intellectually competent and morally upright.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology today has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including education. In the field of language learning, particularly Arabic, technology has introduced innovations that open new opportunities to enhance the quality and efficiency of the teaching and learning process. With digital technology, the integration of interactive media, online learning platforms, mobile applications, and artificial intelligence can create a more engaging, flexible, and personalized learning experience. This study aims to identify the types of technology that have been applied in Arabic language learning. A qualitative method with a literature review approach was employed in this research. The data sources were drawn from journals discussing relevant themes on the use of technology as a medium for teaching Arabic. The data were then analyzed to generate new findings. The analysis revealed 21 technology-based learning media that effectively support Arabic language learning, including Instagram, TikTok, Google Sites, Moodle, Duolingo, YouTube, Animated Films, Plotagon, Powtoon, Kahoot, Digital Comics, Quizizz, Chatbot Mondly, Canva, Adobe Animate CC, Podcasts, MixPad, Word Wall, Digital Dictionaries, BISA Nahwu Sharaf Application, and Alef Education Platform. These media contribute to enhancing students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. These findings are expected to serve as strategic references for educators and educational institutions to develop more innovative and relevant Arabic language learning approaches in the digital era.
