Abstract

A gel is a semisolid system consisting of small inorganic particles or large organic molecules suspended in a liquid. This study aims to determine if Euphatorium leaf extract can be formulated into a gel preparation that meets the physical quality requirements and to determine the activity of Euphatorium leaf extract gel on rabbit burn wound healing. This type of research was a laboratory experiment with gel preparation formulations and activity tests on rabbit burn wound healing. Preparation of Euphatorium leaf extract by maceration with 96% ethanol solvent. In this study, FI gel preparations (negative control), FII (2.5% extract), FIII (5% extract), FIV (10% extract), FV (Bioplacenton positive control). Furthermore, a physical stability test was carried out on the Euphatorium leaf extract gel which included; organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, spreadability test, adhesion test, viscosity test and accelerated stability test. Then tested the activity of Euphatorium leaf extract gel on the healing of rabbit burns. In this test, 5 rabbits were used. Each rabbit was made a wound with an area of ​​2 cm on the back area which was divided into 3 wound areas. Each wound area is given the same concentration. Observations were made every 3 days of treatment. The results showed that Euphatorium leaf extract could be formulated into a gel preparation and met the physical stability requirements of the gel, and the activity test on the healing of rabbit burns obtained an average percentage of burn wound healing, namely FI (11.83%), FII (24.50) , FIII (31.33%), FIV (54.17%) and FV (66.17%). Based on the results of statistical analysis tests with one way ANOVA, it was shown that there were significant differences in the healing activity of rabbit burns between all treatment groups where the value of p <0.05.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to formulate peel off masks and test the physical quality of potato starch peel off masks (Amylum solani) as facial skin exfoliants. This research was carried out in the Phytochemical and Pharmaceutical Laboratory of Pancasakti University-Makassar. The process of making starch begins with mashed potatoes and let stand for 24 hours with distilled water to get starch filtrate. The starch obtained is then dried and sieved. Potato starch is formulated into face mask preparations and physical quality tests are carried out in the form of organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, viscosity tests, spreadability tests, drying time tests and hedonic tests. The results of the physical quality test of the preparations showed that there was an effect of variations in the concentration of potato starch on the stability of facial skin cleansing mask preparations. However, the results of the physical quality of the preparation still meet the stability requirements for facial skin cleansing mask preparations. Thus the use of variations in the concentration of potato starch can be formulated for exfoliating facial skin masks.

Abstract

Minyak Nilam (Pogostemon cablin) mengandung senyawa patchouli alkohol yang memiliki efek sebagai antiinflamasi. Pemberian minyak Nilam secara topical dapat memberikan efek antiinflamasi pada kulit punggung Mencit jantan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antiinflamasi minyak Nilam yang di formulasikan kedalam bentuk sediaan emulgel terhadap hewan uji Mencit Jantan dan apakah sediaan emulgel minyak Nilam memenuhi syarak mutu fisik sediaan. Penelitian ini dilakuan dengan tiga formula dengan konsentrasi Minyak Nilam masing-masing FI 10%, FII 12.5%, FIII 15%. Berdasarkan pengujian stabilistas fisik sediaan dari parameter organoleptik, viskositas, homogenitas, tipe emulsi, pH, daya lekat dan cycling test, minyak Nilam dapat diformulasikan kedalam bentu sediaan dengan konsentrasi 10% dan 12.5% karena stabill sebelum dan sesudah cycling test. Hasil pengujian statistik ANOVA dengan SPSS dilakukan uji normalitas dan homogenitas menuujkan bahwa emulgel minyak Nilam tidak menunjukan perbedaan signifikan meskipun rata-ratanya berbeda jauh dalam mengatasi radang pada kaki mencit (sig>0,05), namun jika dilihat dari persen daya inflamasi maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa emulgel minyak Nilam dengan konsentrai 12.5 % dengan daya inflamasi sebesar 96.87% di menit ke 300 memiliki daya inflamasi yang paling besar dan memenuhi syarat uji mutu fisik sediaan.

Abstract

Kate Mas plant (Euphorbia heterophylla) is a weed plant that grows in humid areas. Traditionally kate mas leaves are used to treat constipation, bronchitis, anti-inflammatory and asthma. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving kate mas leaf extract (Euphorbia heterophylla) as a laxative to mice (Mus musculus). The research design was experimental at the Pharmacology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Pancasakti University. This study used 15 mice which were divided into 5 groups which had been fasted 1 hour before treatment, using loperamide HCl suspension as inducer. The first group was given CMC Na suspension as a negative control, the second group was given dulcolactol syrup as a positive control, groups three, four and five as the treatment group were given katemas leaf ethanol extract with doses of 70 mg/20 g BW, 140 mg/20 g BW and 280 g respectively. mg/20g BW. Data were analyzed using the SPSS application, the Kruskall-Wallis Test followed by testing using the Mann-Whitney Test method to see differences between treatment groups. The results showed that kate mas leaf extract had a laxative effect on mice. The first dose treatment group, namely 70 mg/20 g BW, had the same laxative effect as the positive control group with a significance value (P> 0.05) from these results it could be concluded that kate mas leaf extract had a laxative effect on mice, the most effective treatment group was group three with a dose of 70 mg/20 g BW.

Abstract

Beras merupakan bahan pangan pokok masyarakat di Indonesia yang berasal dari tanaman padi (Oryza sativa L) yang telah digiling. Beras kaya akan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan bagi tubuh manusia,seperti karbohidrat,lemak ,vitamin, serta zat gizi lain seperti protein dan eberapa jenis mineral. Klorin yang digunakan sebagai pemutih pakaian merupakan bahan kimia yang dilarang pengunaannya didalam bahan pangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan menentukan kadar klorin pada beras yang beredar dipasar Andi ta’da Kota Palopo. Penelitian ini menggunakan sebanyak empat sampel beras putih yang dijual dipasar Andi Ta’da Kota Palopo. Penentuan klorin diuji secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil analisis kualitatif menunjukkan semua sampel positif klorin adanya perubahan warna biru keunguan. uji kuantitatif diketahui kadar sampel beras putih yang diberi kode A mengandung kadar klorin 0,1111 mg/g, sampel beras putih diberi kode B mengandung kadar klorin 0,1475 mg/g , sampel beras putih diberi kode C mengandung kadar klorin 0,1435 mg/g, dan sampel beras putih diberi kode D 0,0794 mg/g.
