Abstract

Abstract: One of the factors that can influence the economic development of a country is the presence of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME). With the development of technology and globalization of the world, to introduce MSME, it is necessary to create a relevant promotional media. Bilingual booklet is an option that business owner can use to promote their products. This study uses research and design method. English is a widely spoken and understood language in the business world. Creating booklets in English helps companies effectively communicate with a global audience, potential clients, partners, and customers. The aim of the research is to produce a local industry promotion media in the form of a booklet using two languages, English and Indonesian so that it can reach the international market. The stages in designing the booklet itself use the ADDIE model including analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate stages. The research location was a local industry in Palembang Pempek Crispy Neny and data was collected through interviews, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The result of the research is on the formation and development of promotional media for Pempek Crispy Neny bilingual booklet containing information about the products offered by this industry.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of the project at SDIT Future Islamic School (FIS) Pekanbaru to enhance the Pancasila student profile (P5) dimension of faith, devotion to God Almighty, and noble character in the independent curriculum, as well as the relationship between this project and the students' moral education in the hadith. The study that was done falls under the category of qualitative descriptive research. Interviews are the method used to get data. Content analysis is the method used for data analysis. According to the study's findings, P5 is being implemented at SDIT Future Islamic School (FIS) Pekanbaru, which is improving religious, interpersonal, environmental, and national morality. The moral education of children in the hadith is connected to the implementation of P5 at SDIT FIS. The result of the research is Islamic Integrated Islamic School should adopt the hadist in their teaching learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the significant effect of the use of the small group discussion learning model on the writing skills of the students of SMKN 1 Bangkinang Kota. This research method uses experimental quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design. The sample in the study consisted of 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, totaling 71 students. The data collection instrument used pretest and posttest tests. The data analysis technique used normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing (t test). The results showed that the writing skills of the students of SMKN 1 Bangkinang Kota using the conventional learning model was with an average value of 76.34. Writing skills using the small group discussion learning model is with an average value of 79.76. The results of the "t" test obtained tcount > ttable, namely 2,914 > 2,009 with a significant level of 0.05 or 5% which states Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This proves that the small group discussion learning model has a significant influence on the writing skills of the students of SMKN 1 Bangkinang Kota

Abstract

Lectures can range from being fully focused on the teacher to valuing learner-teacher and learner-learner interaction. Advocates of the completely didactic (teacher-cantered) lecture want to maximize the amount of lecture time available for material delivery, viewing other activities as 'lost' lecture time. However, educational research has found the potential benefit of interactivity in promoting cognitively active learning and better learning outcomes. This study aim is to find out the interactive lecture approach to drive of students learning motivation in higher education. The research was the qualitative research approach. The data was found from library research. The results are the strategies for interactive lecturing consist of encourage active participation, utilize multimedia and advanced technology Encourage teamwork and peer learning, give practical illustrations and applications, provide formative evaluations, develop a conducive learning environment, individualize educational experiences, Provide clear objectives and outcomes in learning process.

Abstract

ABSTRAKBahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa internasional yang paling banyak memiliki penutur dan sering kali digunakan pada pertemuan antarnegara. Oleh karena itu, kemampuan Bahasa Inggris perlu dikuasai oleh siswa sebagai penerus generasi agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Kampung Literasi yang menjadi tempat belajar nonformal bagi siswa dimanfaatkan sebagai perluasan akses informasi, khususnya terkait pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini meliputi 1. Apa materi yang tepat digunakan dalam pelatihan vocabulary for kids di Kampung Literasi 26 Ilir Palembang? dan 2. Bagaimana metode yang diterapkan dalam pelatihan vocabulary for kids di Kampung Literasi 26 Ilir Palembang? Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Jurusan Bahasa Inggris Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya memberikan pelatihan kepada siswa di Kampung Literasi 26 Ilir Palembang. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik kosa kata dalam Bahasa Inggris. Metode pelatihan conversation yang telah dilaksanakan adalah dengan drilling method di mana peserta pelatihan diminta melakukan hal yang sama, berulang-ulang secara sungguh-sungguh dengan tujuan untuk menyempurnakan keterampilan speaking, terutama pronunciation agar peserta mengetahui cara pengucapan yang benar. Target yang diharapkan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu meningkatkan keterampilan, menambah pengetahuan, dan mempertajam pemahaman terkait kosa kata Bahasa Inggris sehari-hari kepada anak-anak untuk dapat meningkatkan kompetensi speaking.ABSTRACTEnglish is the most widely spoken international language and is often used in international meetings. Therefore, English proficiency needs to be mastered by students as the next generation to improve the quality of human resources. The Literacy Village, which serves as a non-formal learning place for students, is utilized to expand access to information, especially related to English learning. The issues raised in this study include: 1. What is the appropriate material used in vocabulary training for kids in Literacy Village 26 Ilir Palembang? and 2. What methods are applied in vocabulary training for kids in Literacy Village 26 Ilir Palembang? Based on these issues, the Community Service Team from the English Department of Sriwijaya State Polytechnic conducted training for students in Literacy Village 26 Ilir Palembang. This training was carried out using lecture, discussion, and English vocabulary practice methods. The conversation training method implemented was the drilling method, where the trainees were asked to perform the same task repeatedly in a serious manner to enhance speaking skills, especially pronunciation, so that participants know the correct pronunciation. Abstract

Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas kepala sekolah untuk meningkatkan layanan pendidikan di Madrasah Aliyah Swasta di Kota Pekanbaru. Tahapan pengabdian ini adalah persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi, dan tindak lanjut. Materi penelitia terdiri daripelatihan manajemen sekolah, pendekatan pembelajaran kreatif, dan penggunaan TI dalam pendidikan adalah semua bagian dari program ini. Hasil dari pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah lebih memahami dan memiliki keterampilan yang lebih baik dalam mengelola dan mengembangkan sekolah mereka. Hasil dari Pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah ada peningkatan pemahaman kepala sekolah terhadap materi yang diberikan. Setelah pelatihan, pemahaman peserta meningkat signifikan: Kepemimpinan dan Perubahan dari 63% menjadi 86%, SDM dan Keuangan dari 74%  menjadi 90%, Perencanaan Strategis dari 71% menjadi 98%, E-learning  dari 51% menjadi 81%, Teknologi Administrasi dari 76% menjadi 90%, Keamanan TI dari 52% menjadi 85%, Proyek Kolaboratif dari 62% menjadi 88%, Pengajaran Kreatif  dari 42% menjadi 85%

Abstract

Purpose: The goal of community service is to improve the level of teacher competency in elementary schools by engaging in community service activities. The objective was to obtain this outcome by concentrating on communication and instructional development. Methodology: The Participatory Action Research (PAR) was chosen as the technique for this community service. Participatory Action Research (PAR) entails the active engagement of community members and relevant stakeholders with the objective of fostering collaborative problem-solving and knowledge acquisition. Results: The community service initiative enhanced the language and communication abilities of teachers. This implies that the training program has been successful in effectively addressing specific areas of teacher competency. Limitations: One obstacle to this training is related to the duration required for implementation. If the implementation time is short, it will produce less than the optimal results in the expected output. Contribution: The community service project implemented a notable enhancement in teacher proficiency in language and communication skills within the context of elementary education. This underscores the imperative for ongoing investment in teacher training to augment the calibration of education.

Abstract

Although E-evaluation technology offers the potential for increased efficiency and accuracy in assessment, there are still problems related to its understanding and application among lecturers. This study aims to analyze lecturers' perceptions of the use of electronic evaluation methods in assessing students' academic achievements in the Islamic education study program at STAI Al-Kifayah Riau. This research uses a mixed method. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. In this study, quantitative and qualitative data were converged. The research findings revealed that users' perceptions of E-evaluation in the Islamic Education study program of STAI Al-Kifayah Riau showed a high level of approval. The survey showed that respondents had a positive view of the use of E-evaluation. Meanwhile, the implementation of E-evaluation in the Islamic Education study program has a moderate level. Lecturers already have expertise and understanding related to E-evaluation after attending training, but they still face difficulties in implementing it efficiently. The results of this study have implications for the need for additional training and support for lecturers to improve their competence in E-evaluation implementation. This is important to ensure more effective integration in teaching and assessment methodologies and to maximize the benefits of technology in education.

Abstract

One of the challenges students face in learning English is the confidence to speak the language in practical situation. To cope with this problem, incorporating travel vlogs in English classroom may be one of the solutions. The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the students' perspective towards the use of travel vloggings in the English classroom and whether it can help boost their confidence in speaking English. This study was conducted at Sriwijaya State Polytechnic, participated by second semester students of Tourism Business Management department who took English for Tourism Industry compulsory subject. The data were collected using questionnaire and then analysed using qualitative descriptive approach. The results showed that students have positive attitude towards the use of travel vlogs to boost their confidence in speaking English.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of student self-regulation in understanding English reading at Danul Hikmah Pekanbaru MTS. Using a quantitative research design with a correlational descriptive approach, the study involved 46 students selected through stratified random sampling techniques out of a total population of 143 students. The research instruments included a questionnaire to measure self-regulation and standard tests to measured reading understanding. The data collection process begins with validity and reliability testing of instruments through pretests, followed by primary data collection. The data analysis was performed using SPSS version 25, using descriptive statistics to summarize data and Pearson correlations to test the relationship between self-regulation and reading understanding. The results of the analysis showed a significant positive correlation between student self-regulation and their English reading understanding score. The Pearson Correlation Coefficient of 0.849 indicates a strong relationship, where a higher level of self-Regulation is associated with a better understanding of reading. These results emphasize the importance of developing self-regulation skills in students to improve their academic performance in reading. Therefore, teaching strategies that facilitate the development of self-regulation can make a positive contribution to learning outcomes. These findings recommend the application of educational interventions that focus on the development of self-regulation to improve student reading understanding and, ultimately, their overall academic performance.
