Abstract

This scientific research aims to characterize and promote the Arabic language at the Institute of Islamic Teacher Education in Burandwan. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative research methodology through interviews, observation, and documentation. So you get the fact that the Arabic language and its promotion in that institute are divided into two stages, the first of which is the foundation stage and the second is the implementation and promotion stage. Establishment stage: This stage goes back to the time of the founding of this institute in the year 1971 AD, with the efforts of Kayahi Haj Muhammad Idris Johari, hand in hand with Kayahi Hajj Muhammad Tijani Johari, who improved the sound structures and correct methods after coming from Mecca (1989 AD) until this stage was achieved with the title Success and paving the way in educating and teaching the Arabic language. The implementation and promotion stage: The process of the Arabic language as a language of communication and teaching may accelerate teacher education to its maximum extent for its employees, until the implementation and promotion stage has become as if it were facilitated in an instant, and elements of a) building a solid Arabic language teaching entity were formed in this stage, b) sending some distinguished cadres. And their enrollment in universities in Mecca and Medina in the Arabic language specialization, c) The large number of teachers who excel in the Arabic language and are effective in the fields of teaching it, d) Managing the implementation of linguistic and Arabic activities and educating them outside the classroom, e) The effectiveness of the linguistic and Arabic teams in forming cadres who excel in the Arabic language.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi Sujud Syukur di kelas VII Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kabat, Kabupaten Banyuwangi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Jigsaw. Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi Sujud Syukur yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya interaksi aktif antar peserta didik dan metode pembelajaran yang cenderung berpusat pada guru. Model Jigsaw dipilih karena dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran dengan cara berbagi informasi dan bekerja sama dalam kelompok. Pada siklus I hasil belajar peserta didik diketahui sebesar 54,5% dengan kategori tuntas, dan 45,5% dengan kategori tidak tuntas, kemudian pada siklus II hasil belajar peserta didik meningkat yaitu sebesar 86,4% dengan kategori tuntas, dan 13,6% dengan kategori tidak tuntas. Dengan demikian bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Jigsaw berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Peningkatan terlihat dari hasil evaluasi siklus pertama hingga siklus kedua, di mana rata-rata nilai peserta didik mengalami kenaikan yang signifikan. This research aims to improve students' learning outcomes on the topic of Sujud Syukur in grade VII at Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kabat, Banyuwangi Regency, through the implementation of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning model. The background of this research is based on the low learning outcomes of students on the topic of Sujud Syukur, which is caused by the lack of active interaction between students and a teacher-centered teaching method. The Jigsaw model was chosen because it can enhance students' engagement in the learning process by sharing information and working together in groups. The results of the research: In the first cycle, students' learning outcomes were 54.5% categorized as passing and 45.5% categorized as failing. In the second cycle, students' learning outcomes improved to 86.4% categorized as passing and 13.6% categorized as failing. This indicates that the implementation of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning model can improve students' learning outcomes on the topic of Sujud Syukur in grade VII at SMP Negeri 2 Kabat in the 2024/2025 academic year. Thus, the implementation of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning model successfully increased students' learning outcomes. The improvement is evident from the evaluation results of the first to the second cycle, where the average score of students increased significantly.

Abstract

Arabic language learning can be defined as a process of conditioning students to understand four skills: writing skills, speaking skills, listening skills, and reading skills. These skills are categorized into receptive skills, such as reading and listening, and productive skills, such as writing and speaking. This research aims to identify the linguistic problems in learning Arabic skills for 4th-semester intensive students both in the classroom and in the dormitory, identify the non-linguistic problems in learning Arabic skills for 4th-semester intensive students both in the classroom and in the dormitory. The researcher uses a descriptive qualitative research approach with a field research type, employing the Miles and Huberman model. Data is collected through various data collection techniques, including interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that it has been implemented with intensive fourth-semester female students at university of Al-Amien Prenduan in campus and in the dormitory. The productive skill issues stem from various linguistic forms, which include, problems in composing verbal structures, problems in composing nominal structures, problems in vocabulary composition, and problems with language code-switching. Non-linguistic factors contributing to these issues include, lack of motivation to learn, insufficient knowledge before entering the Islamic boarding school, and uneven mastery of productive skill among female students. It can be understood that with a strong desire to learn Arabic, non-pesantren female students can master productive skill on par with boarding scool graduates.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used in teaching colloquial Arabic for tourism purposes to fifth-level students at University of Al-Amien Prenduan. The research responds to the growing need for tour guides capable of communicating in colloquial Arabic with tourists from the Middle East. Although Modern Standard Arabic is the main language of instruction at the university, the Arabic Language Education Department has included colloquial Arabic to meet labor market demands. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive method, with researchers acting as semi-participant observers through classroom observations, interviews with lecturers and students, and document analysis. The findings reveal, first: the teaching relies on two main strategies interactive teaching, which emphasizes student engagement and discussion for understanding, and the lecture strategy, where the instructor explains theoretical concepts and grammar rules related to colloquial Arabic. Second: there are supportive factors in the learning process, such as a friendly peer environment, the use of YouTube as a supplementary tool, and teacher competence. Third: several obstacles exist, including low student motivation, limited learning materials, and time constraints. The main conclusion is that successful colloquial Arabic instruction requires a balance between interaction and explanation, supported by an appropriate learning environment. The study recommends enhancing interactive strategies, using multimedia, and developing culturally appropriate materials for non-native speakers.

Abstract

Limited foreign language skills among students at educational institutions in Plakpak Village, Pegantenan District, Pamekasan Regency remain a significant challenge in facing the demands of globalization and the world of work. The lack of speaking practice and contextual learning methods has resulted in foreign language learning that is ineffective and meaningless. Based on these issues, this community service activity aims to implement service learning as a collaborative learning innovation that can integrate theory and practice in a social context. The community service method was carried out through a service learning approach with the following stages: (1) identification of foreign language needs in the target educational institution, (2) intensive training based on communicative practice and community service projects, (3) assistance in the implementation of collaborative learning between students and teachers, and (4) evaluation of the improvement in students' foreign language skills. This activity involved teachers, students, and university students as active partners in learning, thereby creating a reciprocal process between the academic world and community needs. The results of the community service showed an increase in learning motivation and basic foreign language communication skills among students. In addition, teachers gained new experiences in applying a service learning approach oriented towards experiential learning. This activity also strengthened the collaborative network between universities and village educational institutions in creating innovative, participatory, and sustainable learning models.
