Abstract

Small and medium enterprises in Kediri grow rapidly, especially food business. Similarly, Pia Latief's business is also growing year by year, as evidenced by the increasing demand. So this sector needs to continue to be developed and needs to be examined how the development so as to provide input and description of his business. The analysis that needs attention is related to the sales volume associated with the cost and the profit earned. The purpose of this research is to analyze related to break even point, contribution margin, margin of safety, and profit planning. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The research approach used is quantitative approach. Data analysis using least square method to separate semi variable cost into fixed cost and variable cost. After that analyzed by using break even point, contribution margin, and margin of safety. The results of research conducted on the company Pia Latief Kediri, on two products namely wet pia and dry pia is a wet pia BEP of 6,986 units, dry pia of 12,292 units. The margin of safety contribution was 53.34% from the sales, margin of safety was 95.67% with the target of 2017 for 169,581 units for wet pia product, dry pia sales target of 298,409 units. Expected from the results of this study can provide input on the company Pia Latief in determining the policy of production and sales, so obtained a profitable advantage.

Abstract

Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris yang baik khusunya yang berkaitan dengan proses melamar pekerjaan merupakan hal yang sangat menentukan kesuksusesan para siswa di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan yang diinginkan terutama jika mereka ingin bekerja di perusahaan asing atau perusahaan internasional. Maka dari itu, para siswa harus mempunyai pengetahuan dan keterampilan Bahasa Inggris yang baik yang berkaitan dengan bagaimana mencari Iklan Lowongan Pekerjaan, membuat Surat Lamaran Kerja, Daftar Riwayat Hidup, dan Wawancara Kerja. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, maka tim pelaksana pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang terdiri dari beberapa Dosen Program Studi Bahasa Inggris Politeknik Negeri Jember melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan kepada para siswa SMK Trunojoyo Jember tentang proses melamar pekerjaan menggunakan Bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode diskusi dan praktek langsung yaitu memberikan pemahaman kepada peserta pelatihan tentan topik materi yang disampaikan dan dilanjutkan dengan praktek langsung yang dibimbing oleh tim pelaksana pengabdian. Kegiatan pelatihan ini telah berjalan dengan baik dan lancar serta mendapat respon yang positif dari sekolah maupun dari para siswa selaku peserta kegiatan pelatihan.

Abstract

This paper reports the results of a case study which explored the reality of ELT curriculum implementation in the higher education setting in Indonesia in light of the notion of coherence. The study was underpinned by naturalistic inquiry and was intended to know the extent to which the national curriculum policy was implemented in the individual higher education institution through the institutional curriculum policy and in turn was implemented through classroom instructions and experienced by the students. The data were collected by using documentation, interviews, and observations, and analyzed by using the Immersion/Crystallization method. The major finding was that the implementation of the ELT curriculum in the institutional level might not represent the vision of national curriculum policy. The institutional policy announced the application of curriculum on the basis on IQF (Indonesian Qualification Framework), nevertheless, divergent interpretation toward the national policy had led to bias implementation in the level of the department. While most subjects within the overarching (department) curriculum were directed to adopt a strong product-oriented model, the English subjects represented a different reality.   Keywords: higher education, EFL curriculum, coherence, policy, and practice

Abstract

Optimal soil fertility is the main key in achieving sustainable agricultural productivity. This abstract describes various efforts and strategies that can be adopted to improve soil fertility and, as a result, increase agricultural productivity. Increasing soil fertility not only increases agricultural yields, but can also contribute to global food security, reduce degraded land, and support environmental sustainability. This abstract aims to provide insight into various strategies that can be adopted to increase soil fertility and agricultural productivity. With a deep understanding of soil dynamics and a science-based approach, stakeholders can develop agricultural policies and practices that support sustainable agricultural growth.

Abstract

The digital literacy level of the Indonesian young generation is still low. Therefore, the students need to be equipped for digital literacy from an early age. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Darul Kholili Jember. In this basic digital literacy training, the presenter used several mixed approaches, they are lecturing, discussion, and practice. The materials taught in this training include Digital Literacy, Digital Culture, Digital Ethics, Media Sosial Education and Cyber Bullying. After delivering the material, the presenter opened a discussion and question answer session, the participants were asked to practice the material that had been discussed. During the training, participants were very enthusiastic also active in discussion sessions and asked questions. It is hoped that this activity will contribute to the development of participants’ digital literacy. The result of this training activities showed that the students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Darul Kholili Jember have a good knowledge improvement in their digital literacy, however in the process of literacy digital training there were still some things that must be improved.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aktivitas bongkar muat barang curah kering berupa gandum di Terminal Untuk Kepentingan Sendiri (TUKS) PT XYZ, dengan fokus pada penerapan stowage plan dan discharge sequence dalam mendukung efisiensi operasional. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi langsung, wawancara dengan pihak manajemen pelabuhan, serta studi dokumen teknis seperti stowage plan dan discharge sequence. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan bongkar muat di Jetty B dilaksanakan secara sistematis melalui enam tahapan discharge yang memperhatikan keseimbangan kapal, kapasitas grain unloader, serta kondisi ballast kapal. Dokumen stowage plan mengatur distribusi muatan berdasarkan pelabuhan tujuan dan jenis produk untuk mencegah kontaminasi antar produk serta memastikan kelancaran pembongkaran. Fasilitas dermaga seperti grain unloader, conveyor system, dan silo penyimpanan juga berperan penting dalam mendukung alur distribusi tanpa hambatan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi antara perencanaan muatan dan kesiapan fasilitas pelabuhan dalam menunjang kecepatan, akurasi, dan keamanan proses bongkar muat barang curah kering.

Abstract

English reading skill is a fundamental skill that is crucial in education, particularly in today's globalized world. However, many Vocational High School (SMK) students still face challenges in comprehending English texts, stemming from limited vocabulary, limited reading strategies, and a lack of contextual learning. This community service activity was conducted at SMK Swasta Islam (SMKSI) Darul Istiqomah Jember to provide students with basic English reading skill training. The training focused on mastering reading strategies such as skimming, scanning, determining topics, identifying main and supporting ideas, and answering questions using WH-Questions. The implementation method included initial observation, material preparation, interactive lectures, practice exercises, and evaluation. The results showed that the training successfully improved students' ability to comprehend English texts more effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, it increased students' motivation and confidence in reading English texts, and provided an initial understanding of functional texts relevant to the world of work. This activity is expected to be a real contribution in improving the quality of vocational high school students' English literacy and supporting their readiness to face the demands of the global workforce.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi konsumsi energi listrik dan mengidentifikasi potensi penghematan energi pada sistem pencahayaan dan tata udara di Plaza XYZ, sebuah pusat perbelanjaan enam lantai di Jakarta Barat yang belum memiliki sistem pemantauan energi. Metode yang digunakan berupa pendekatan kuantitatif melalui observasi lapangan dan analisis data teknis. Evaluasi dilakukan terhadap jumlah lampu, kapasitas AC split, dan performa chiller menggunakan parameter COP dan kW/TR. Hasil menunjukkan nilai Intensitas Konsumsi Energi (IKE) tergolong boros. Potensi penghematan mencapai 6.927,19 kWh/bulan untuk pencahayaan dan 1.145,40 kWh/bulan untuk tata udara. Rekomendasi diarahkan pada optimalisasi sistem untuk efisiensi energi gedung.
