Abstract

Background: SARS-CoV-2 is a new type of coronavirus that has never been previously identified in humans. In severe cases of COVID-19 it can cause pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death. Hypertension causes a number of pathophysiological changes in the cardiovascular system such as left ventricular hypertrophy and fibrosis. This can make a hypertensive heart particularly vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2. This study aims to analyze and estimate the effect of comorbid hypertension on mortality in COVID-19 patients.Subjects and Method: This was a systematic review and meta-analysis conducted with PRISMA flow diagram. Article searches through journal databases include: Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, and Springer Link by selecting articles published in 2020 and 2021. The keywords used are “Hypertension” OR “Hypertensive Patient” OR “Blood Pressure”, “Systolic Pressure” OR “Diastolic Pressure” AND “Mortality”, OR “death” OR “loss” AND “COVID-19” OR “SARS-COV-2” OR “coronavirus” AND “multivariate”. The inclusion criteria were full paper articles with observational research methods, the results of the analysis used the aOR value, the exposure given was comorbid hypertension, the research subjects were COVID-19 patients, with mortality outcomes. Eligible articles were analyzed using the Revman 5.3 app. Results: A meta-analysis of 18 articles showed that confirmed COVID-19 patients who had comorbid hypertension had a 1.27 times risk of mortality compared to those without comorbid hypertension and were statistically significant (aOR= 1.27; 95% CI= 1.14 to 1.41; p <0.001).Conclusion: Comorbid Hypertension affects the mortality of COVID-19 patients. Keywords: hypertension, mortality, COVID-19, meta-analysisCorrespondence: Nanda Agustian Simatupang. Abstract

Anemia in adolescent girls can have long-term impacts on themselves and their future children. Low knowledge of adolescents about anemia is the biggest factor causing anemia, especially school children who have unhealthy snack habits and unhealthy diets. The KECERIA program aims to educate adolescent girls. This activity was carried out at SMK Negeri 4, Jambi City, targeting adolescent girls. This activity was carried out in May-July 2024 with stages, advocacy, socialization, and nutrition education for 34 adolescent girls. Quantitative assessments were carried out pre- and post-tests before and after nutrition education. The average knowledge score before being given education was 59.41 and increased to 80.88 during the post-test. The results of the Paired Samples Test statistical analysis (Dependent T Test) found a P value = <0.0001, which means that there is a difference in the average knowledge of respondents in the pre-test and post-test results of SMK Negeri 4, Jambi City students after being given education. Providing education about anemia has an influence on the level of knowledge of female adolescents at SMK Negeri 4, Jambi City. It is recommended that schools routinely provide education about preventing anemia for female students in order to increase the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of female students in preventing anemia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Globally, 247 million positive Malaria cases were reported in 84 malaria-endemic countries. Indonesia is one of the malaria-endemic countries with 443,530 cases in 2023 [4]. Meanwhile, in Jambi Province in 2022, there were 12,682 cases, with the highest cases recorded in Merangin District (3,639 cases) and Sarolangun District (3,494 cases). This study aims to analyze and explore in-depth information about the beliefs and health-seeking behaviors related to Kuro fever among the Suku Anak Dalam tribe. This is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The study was conducted from February to October 2024 with 6 informants consisting of 2 tribal chiefs (temenggung) and 4 Suku Anak Dalam tribe members, using Thematic Analysis technique. The Suku Anak Dalam community still strongly holds traditions and beliefs in traditional treatments and herbal medicines prepared by shamans or self-prepared. Seeking treatment at health facilities is their secondary option if traditional treatments fail to cure the illness. It is crucial to enhance health education programs that are sensitive to the culture and local beliefs of the Suku Anak Dalam tribe. The government and related institutions need to facilitate improved access to health services, such as providing mobile health facilities in Suku Anak Dalam community areas. Keywords: Suku Anak Dalam, Beliefs, Kuro Fever, Health Seeking Behavior  ABSTRAK Secara Global, sebanyak 247 juta kasus positif Malaria di laporkan di 84 negara endemis malaria. Abstract

Background:  Anxiety in children will make it difficult for dentists to perform dental treatment. In dentistry, especially pediatric dentistry, children who are very anxious will avoid examinations and refuse dental treatment. This study aims to analyze the influence of the "tell show do" method in reducing dental anxiety in pediatric patients. Subjects and Method:  This was a systematic review and meta-analysis conducted using PRISMA flow diagrams. Search articles through journal databases including: Google Scholar, PubMed, and Springer Link by selecting articles published in 2016 and 2022. The keywords used are (“tell show do” OR “TSD”AND “dental anxiety” OR “anxiety” ) AND (“pediatric dentistry” OR “children”) AND (“RCT” OR “randomized control trial”). The inclusion criteria were full paper articles using the Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) research method, the results of the analysis used the Mean SD value, the intervention provided was a tell show do, the study subjects were pediatric dental patients at the first visit, with dental anxiety as an outcome. Articles that met the requirements were analyzed using the Revman 5.3 application. Results:  The meta-analysis of 12 articles shows that there is an increasing effect using the tell show do method on reducing dental anxiety. Children who received the tell show do intervention had a dental anxiety level 0.54 units lower than those who did not receive the tell show do, and the effect was statistically significant (SMD 0.54; 95% CI= 0.23 to 0.85; p=0.0007). Conclusion:  The tell show do method has an effect on reducing anxiety in pediatric dental patients.   Keywords: tell show do, dental anxiety, meta-analysis
