Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan hasil survei tracer study lulusan 2022 Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA. Hasil menunjukkan 39% ikut andil pengisian tracer study, artinya bahwa kurang mencapai target yang ditetapkan 50%. Lalu, pada sisi tempat lulusan besar terdapat 64% bekerja di Perusahaan Swasta, lalu kesesuaian bidang ilmu dengan pekerjaan menunjukkan 58% (Sedang), 38% (Tinggi), 4% (Rendah). Hal ini menandai sebagian besar relevan antara bidang ilmu dengan dunia pekerjaan. Namun, dari sisi aspek lainnya, 70% praktikum saat kuliah menunjang pekerjaan bagi lulusan 2022, dan 21% (Rendah)/tidak menunjang pekerjaan lulusan. Aspek-aspek luaran tracer study ini dapat menjadi evaluasi menyeluruh; praktikum, kurikulum dan aspek perkuliahannya. Kata kunci: Alumni, Tracer Study, Ilmu Komunikasi, Dunia Kerja

Abstract

Kampung Pulo Geulis kini telah berkembang dari kawasan permukiman kumuh menjadi Kampung Wisata Tematik yang dapat menarik kunjungan wisata. Kepadatan penduduk, akses serta sarana dan prasarana yang tidak memadai hingga letak geografis yang berada di tengah Sungai Ciliwung, dan status Pulo Geulis yang kini menjadi kampung wisata membuatnya menjadi pusat berbagai aktifitas pelaku wisata, oleh karena itu tentunya hal tersebut membuat Pulo Geulis tidak terhindar dari peningkatan timbulan sampah dan rentan kembali menjadi pemukiman kumuh, bahkan sungai berpotensi menjadi pembuangan sampah dan limbah lain. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan kontribusi nyata kepada masyarakat agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup, kesejahteraan, dan menunjang keberlangsungan serta perekonomian Kota Bogor khususnya warga di Kawasan Kampung Wisata Tematik Pulo Geulis. Adapun metode pelaksanaan menggunakan metode Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan pengelolaan sampah warga berbasis 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace) untuk lingkungan yang berkelanjutan di Kawasan Kampung Wisata Tematik Pulo Geulis, Kota Bogor dapat menumbuhkan motivasi dan minat peserta dalam melakukan praktik pengelolaan sampah sebagai upaya dalam menjaga kebersihan dan keindahan lingkungan wisata. Peserta juga telah memahami alasan penting dan dampak negatif dari pengelolaan sampah yang dapat mengancam kualitas hidup, kesejahteraan, serta perekonomian Kampung Wisata Tematik Pulo Geulis. Kebersihan dan keindahan serta kemampuan warga dalam pengelolaan sampah dapat menjadi penciptaan ruang kampung berciri khas dalam hal pariwisata, dan tentunya hal ini bisa menjadi keunggulan maupun kelebihan lain yang dapat ditonjolkan Pulo Geulis sebagai Kampung Wisata Tematik di Kota Bogor.

Abstract

Film merupakan salah satu media yang dapat menyampaikan berbagai informasi dan pesan di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk perjuangan seorang Ibu yang terdapat pada film ‘Air Mata di Ujung Sajadah’ yang menjadi film box office. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori perjuangan oleh Joyomartono yang mencakup sebanyak enam poin nilai-nilai perjuangan; nilai rela berkorban, persatuan, menghargai, sabar, semangat pantang menyerah dan kerja sama dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif serta metode penelitian analisis isi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa indikator nilai perjuangan yang dominan pada film ini yaitu nilai persatuan.

Abstract

The media has a strong influence in shaping people's perceptions and values, but unfortunately the messages conveyed are often not in favor of women. As a reflection of culture, the media often adopts, reinforces and even perpetuates the figure of women with negative connotations through certain roles and attributes that often undermine their abilities, especially in the public sector. Music videos are one form of media that often constructs women unfairly and undignified, to the point of being unprofessional on screen. This paper focuses on the controversial music video clip “Orang Yang Berbeda” by Anji, which is the locus of the author. The purpose of this writing is to try to uncover how the construction of women's professionalism is portrayed in the media. This writing is important to do as a form of effort in fighting for a fairer and more dignified portrayal and placement of women on screen, especially music videos. This writing seeks to contribute to a more positive and empowering representation of women in the media, which ultimately leads to gender equality. This paper will apply the concepts of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann's construction theory and De George's elements of professionalism to understand the reimagining of women's professionalism in music videos. This paper will use qualitative content analysis method, constructivism paradigm, and qualitative approach. The analysis will focus on the scenes and symbols in the music video. The results of the author's analysis of this music video show doubts about women's ability to work professionally. 4 out of 5 scenes illustrate how the two female roles, Yolla and Celline marginalize the aspects of professionalism stated by George, namely; professionalism must have strong integrity and not be easily tempted by material things or worldly pleasures and professionalism requires a harmony between thoughts and actions.

Abstract

Advertising this is media product that has the aim of persuading consumers to purchase a product. Experiential marketing which consists of 5 elements is a way for a company to attract consumers, which is then done by Le Minerale as a drinking water brand in Indonesia. Qualitative Content Analysis is used to analyze how the depiction of experiential marketing messages carried out by Le Minerale. The results found that the 5 elements of Experiential marketing were maximized in Le Menineral advertisements, they used the momentum of international tournaments by featuring several national figures who took part in international events.

Abstract

Kondisi remaja yang saat ini tengah bergerak ke arah yang semakin maju dan modern melahirkan konsekuensi-konsekuensi tertentu yang berkaitan dengan nilai dan moral dalam berkomunikasi, salah satunya ialah kesantunan. Para santri yang tinggal di Yayasan Daarul Rahman (YDR) dipilih sebagai mitra dalam kegiatan ini, selain mayoritas santri adalah remaja, suatu Yayasan juga memiliki tanggung jawab atas pembentukan karakter dan nilai-nilai moral para santri. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan penguatan dan pemahaman mengenai kesantunan dalam berkomunikasi agar para santri dapat menjadi komunikator andal pada era digital. Adapun metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukuan dengan beberapa tahapan, yaitu analisis situasi, perencanaan dan solusi, dan penyuluhan atau implementasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan dapat membantu para santri merasa lebih percaya diri dan terampil dalam berinteraksi dengan orang lain di lingkungan yang lebih luas baik secara tatap muka maupun didalam jaringan. Peserta meyakini bahwa menyela pembicaraan bukan bagian dari perilaku santun dalam komunikasi apalagi jika dilakukan terhadap orang yang lebih tua, dan mengucapkan terima kasih harus dilakukan pada siapapun yang membantu. Secara digital peserta juga memahami bahwa menghargai orang lain merupakan bagian dari kesantunan, dan yang paling utama ialah menjaga identitas diri dengan tidak mengumbar informasi pribadi.

Abstract

In the era of rapid digital transformation, teenagers face unique challenges in developing effective communication skills. Although they are digital natives, many adolescents lack the competence and awareness needed to communicate ethically and responsibly in both online and offline contexts. This community service activity aimed to strengthen the communication abilities of teenagers at Al-Ikhlas Jatipadang Mosque, South Jakarta. The program involved a series of steps, including situation analysis, planning, and implementation through counseling and practical exercises. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of communication, the importance of polite behavior, and the principles of intelligent speech. They were also taught to recognize and correct common misconceptions—such as believing that communication is merely speaking or that it only occurs during intentional interaction. Practical sessions, including simulations of responding to online comments, helped reinforce the lessons. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and communication skills, as indicated by pre- and post-test scores and participant feedback. The activity not only equipped teenagers with essential skills for navigating the digital world but also emphasized the importance of ethical communication, empathy, and social responsibility. The program highlights how community-based education can foster youth as positive communicators in society.

Abstract

The advent of the digital era has precipitated a profound metamorphosis in the communication patterns of Indonesian society, particularly through the medium of social media, which has emerged as the predominant conduit for the dissemination of information and the shaping of public opinion. A salient phenomenon pertains to Anies Baswedan's communication style during the third presidential debate in 2024, which adopted a Low Context Culture (LCC) a direct and explicit communication style contrasting with Indonesia's traditional communication culture, which tends to be implicit and polite called High Context Culture (HCC). The objective of this study is to examine how the audience received and interpreted the LCC messages conveyed by Anies Baswedan during the debate. The theoretical framework of this research draws on Edward T. Hall's cultural communication theory, Hofstede's cultural dimensions, and Anthony Giddens' Runaway World theory, which highlights the dynamics of globalization and digital interaction. The research method employed is a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach, combining Stuart Hall's reception analysis and Phillip Mayring's qualitative content analysis. The data presented herein was collected through a meticulous examination of textual content and in-depth interviews with active and relevant  audiences. The findings of the research indicate that audience reception is significantly influenced by cultural background. Anies' LCC communication style has been perceived by some audiences as firm and effective, while others have found it offensive and inappropriate with local cultural norms. This study provides strategic recommendations for the development of political communication in the digital age.

Abstract

Indonesia, sebagai negara yang rentan terhadap bencana alam, sering mengalami peristiwa longsor, salah satunya yang terjadi di Gang Barjo, Kota Bogor, pada 14 Oktober 2022. BPBD Kota Bogor memainkan peranan penting dalam memberikan informasi bencana kepada masyarakat, salah satunya melalui media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami praktik jurnalisme bencana yang diterapkan oleh BPBD Kota Bogor dalam pemberitaan longsor Gang Barjo. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan pengelola akun Instagram BPBD dan observasi terhadap interaksi masyarakat. Validasi data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jurnalisme bencana dilakukan dengan pengumpulan data lapangan, dokumentasi visual, pengolahan narasi, dan publikasi terstruktur. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori media framing dan komunikasi risiko untuk memahami bagaimana pesan kebencanaan diproduksi, didistribusikan, dan diterima oleh publik melalui Instagram.

Abstract

This study analyzes how communication psychology plays a role in shaping the self-concept of individuals who practice cross-dressing within the cosplay community in Indonesia. This phenomenon gives rise to complex identity dynamics, as it directly intersects with cultural norms that tend to be conservative toward non-binary gender expressions. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques based on their consistency in cross-dressing cosplay and active involvement within the community. Data collection techniques included  in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and literature review. The results show that the psychological communication process in cross-dressing cosplay involves intrapersonal communication through identity reflection, social support from the community, and reinforcement from social media despite the presence of cultural conflicts and norms attached to gender issues. Crossdressing is positioned not merely as a form of artistic performance but as a symbolic strategy to express, test, and negotiate self-identity within a social space that is not yet fully inclusive. These findings confirm that self-identity is a communicative construct that is dynamic, contextual, and potentially subversive to dominant norms. This study makes an important contribution to the development of communication psychology studies in the domains of alternative identity expression and popular culture. The limitation of this research lies in the small number of participants and the narrow geographic scope; thus, further research with a larger participant base and multi-location approaches is necessary for more comprehensive results.
