Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mechanical properties of impact, bending and tensile of bundle fiber composites with 5% NaOH variation of immersion time 0.5 hours, 1 hour and 1.5 hours. Then the blending and casting process is carried out to form a composite material with 20% fiber and 80% resin binder with a catalyst content of 1% and pressurized with press variations of 5 kg, 10 kg and 15 kg. The results of the blending and casting process are made according to the testing standard and then testing the mechanical properties. Impact, bending and tensile strength test results showed that immersion of 0.5 hours with 15 Kg concentration produced the highest value, namely Impact strength 94.89 J / mm2, bending strength 17.77 N / mm2 and tensile strength 27 N / mm2. Whereas the fracture form of the composite is the binding and fiber breaking evenly at the same point and the fiber is not pulled from the metric.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about the price of tensile, hardening, and changes in microstructure as well as changes in material properties at hot temperature variations 800 OC to 900 OC. The method used in this study is an experimental method, where the material used is ST-60 steel bolts, with a tensile test sample form referring to the ASTM D 638-03 standard, while for testing hardness and chemical composition based on machine standards, namely Ø16 mm x 20 mm. In this study, 5 samples were made at each temperature of 0 0C, 800 0C, 850 0C, 900 0C, 950 0C and 1000 0C with the type of heat treatment in the normalizing process and the hardening quenching process. This research was conducted in the Laboratorium Pengujian Bahan, Jurusan Teknik Mesin, Politeknik Negeri Pontianak. The test results on the normalizing process for tensile strength decreased by an average of 230.78 N/mm2 or 50%, Vickers hardness decreased by an average of 33.99 HV or 31% and the carbon content decreased by an average of 0.19 or 48% of the normalizing process is not done. Whereas in the hardening quenching process, the average tensile strength increased by 93.22 N/mm2 or 20 %, the Vickers hardness on average increased by 19.29 HV or 18 % and the average carbon content increased by 0.06 or up 17 % of the hardening quenching process was not done. So to overcome the decrease in mechanical strength and changes in the microstructure of the ST-60 bolt due to hot temperatures, the hardening quenching process can be applied, namely by polishing with used oil after the bolts work at hot temperatures.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of adding asbestos to the production of refractory bricks with different material compositions, namely kaolin, fly ash, asbestos and standard water. The composition of kaolin and fly ash is given in equal percentages, varying according to the mass of asbestos, 0 (%), 10 (%), 15 (%), 20 (%), 30 (%). The tests carried out are thermal conductivity and mechanical properties, where these results become parameters for determining the best composition. The results of testing the compressive strength of refractory bricks showed that 0 (%) quartz sand composition had the largest compressive strength, namely 14.40 (Mpa), the impact test results for 0 (%) asbestos fiber composition had the largest value, namely 0.084 (Joule/mm2), while the results Heat conductivity testing showed that quartz composition 30 (%) had the lowest value, namely 0.373 K(W/mC), thus the addition of asbestos fiber can reduce heat conductivity but cause a decrease in the compressive and impact mechanical properties of refractory bricks. Abstract

The Al Qur'an Nur Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School is precisely located on Jalan Gusti Djafar, Pedalaman Village, Tayan Hilir District, precisely in Gang Ikhlas, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Areas that have not yet been touched by clean water or water standards suitable for consumption. This is all due to the unequal distribution of infrastructure provision, due to limited government budgets and foundation costs, which is an inhibiting factor in the availability of clean water for Islamic boarding school residents. To overcome this problem, community service activities are carried out with the aim of increasing knowledge about clean water quality standards and water processing skills suitable for consumption by residents as well as improving the health and welfare of residents at the Al Qur'an Nur Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School. The method that will be carried out is seeking training and direct practice in making drilled wells and processing water suitable for consumption which will later be installed and operated. The results are that residents at the Islamic boarding school know the water standards in accordance with Minister of Health Regulation Number 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990, understand how to make drilled wells, provide water and purify water suitable for consumption and the health and welfare of residents at the Miningkat Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

Welding is needed to fill holes in castings, increase the hardness of the tool layer and equipment or worn components. Damage usually occurs on the wheel shaft of the truck that rubs against the bushing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the hardfacing welding method with variations in current of 90 A, 110 A and 120 A using RD 260 electrodes measuring 3.2 mm on surface hardness and tensile strength. The method used was experimental, aimed at testing and comparing ST.60 material that was not hardfacing welded and hardfacing welded. The results of the study obtained the highest average hardness value in hardfacing welding with a current of 120 A of 202.89 HV, the lowest average hardness value in specimens without hardfacing welding was 97.1 HV and hardfacing welding with a current of 90 A obtained an average hardness value of 104.80 HV and hardfacing welding with a current of 110 A obtained an average hardness value of 112.37 HV. For the average value of tensile strength (σtrk) without hardfacing welding is 660.67 N/mm², the tensile strength in hardfacing welding decreases where for a current of 90 A it is 567.80 N/mm², a current of 110 A the tensile strength (σtrk) is 568.88 N/mm² and 120 A the tensile strength (σtrk) is 574.11 N/mm². This shows that the surface hardness increases with increasing current in hardfacing welding and the tensile strength value will decrease.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini menganalisis perubahan suhu dalam sistem pendingin radiator pada mesin Toyota Corolla untuk memahami efisiensi termal dan stabilitas suhu pada kondisi operasi yang berbeda. Sistem pendingin radiator merupakan komponen esensial yang menjaga temperatur mesin tetap optimal, terutama dalam kondisi kerja yang bervariasi. Metode pengukuran dilakukan dengan memonitor suhu air pendingin pada berbagai titik dan menganalisis pengaruhnya terhadap performa keseluruhan mesin. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perubahan suhu dalam radiator dipengaruhi oleh beban mesin dan laju aliran udara pada kisi-kisi radiator. Pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai perubahan suhu ini dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pendinginan, mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar, dan memperpanjang umur mesin. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan sistem pendingin radiator yang lebih efektif pada kendaraan bermotor.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji perubahan suhu pada sistem pendingin mobil toyota corolla. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa laju perpindahan panas air dan udara sebesar 50,03 J/ det, dengan temperatur rata - rata logaritma 4,51 K.  Nilai analisa perpindahan panas secara konduksi sebesar -0,6  watt dan perpindahan panas secara konveksi sebesar 3,15 Watt.

Abstract

Friction stir welding (FSW) adalah proses penyambungan material dengan kondisi solid ataupun logam tidak meleleh saat dilakukan penyambungan. Metode ini digunakan agar karakteristik dari logam induk tidak banyak berubah. Proses ini banyak digunakan pada material khususnya aluminium. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan analisa pengaruh variasi putaran (rpm) dimana putaran yang digunakan adalah 1115, 1750 dan 2720 rpm terhadap sifat mekanik dari material aluminium dan aluminium cor pada proses friction stir welding (FSW). Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah kekuatan impak charpy, kekerasan vickers dan struktur mikro. Pada pengujian kekerasan vickers pada proses FSW putaran yang mempunyai kekuatan terbesar berada pada putaran rpm 1750 yaitu sebesar 93,46 HV, pada pengujian impact sudut akhir yang terbesar terjadi pada putaran rpm 1115, sudut yang terbentuk -0,55 = 1,24 J/mm2, patah getas terjadi pada bahan yang mempunyai temperatur rendah dan hal ini terlihat bahwa temperatur dan bentuk takikan berpengaruh terhadap kekuatan impak suatu material.

Abstract

Kalimantan Barat merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia yang memiliki potensi industri unggulan menurut Perda No.7 2017 salah satunya ialah pengolahan hasil laut dan perikanan. Hal ini juga diperkuat dengan data BPS tahun 2021 bahwa nilai tangkap perikanan laut mencapai 162.128 Ton dan perikanan darat mencapai 33.365 Ton. Untuk itu banyak kelompok masyarakat yang membuat budidaya ikan dengan memanfaatkan kolam terpal bioflok baik berbentuk kotak maupun berbentuk bulat. Ada beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat keberhasilan panen ikan diantaranya kualitas pakan dan kualitas air. Maka dari itu diperlukan penerapan teknologi yang bisa meningkatkan oksigen terlarut didalam air dengan memanfaatkan ilmu mekanika fluida berupa Micro Bubble Generator untuk membuat gelembung mikro yang dapat meningkatkan oksigen terlarut didalam air. Selain itu gelembung mikro juga bermanfaat menjaga kualitas air. Penerapan sistem ini diharapkan dapat meminimalisir kematian awal bibit ikan, mempercepat proses pertumbuhan ikan sehingga dapat memenuhi kebuutuhan permintaan ikan dalam kota dan meningkatkan kesejateraan pelaku pembudidaya ikan.
