Abstract

AbstractPurpose - This study aims to analyze the influence of macroeconomic variables and specific variables of the bank on sharia bank credit risk in Indonesia based on the type of financing agreement. Islamic bank credit risks based on financing agreements consist of credit risk based on profit sharing, receivables and rent.Method - This study uses secondary time series data. The data used is the data of Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia from January 2015 to March 2019. The data analysis method uses Vector Autoregression (VAR) with Eviews 10 software tools.Result - Based on the results of the impulse response, the impact of shock on macroeconomic variables and banking-specific variables on sharia bank credit risk in general is almost the same except for credit risk based on rent in certain variables. Judging from the variance decomposition, in general the CAR variable has the greatest influence on the risk of Islamic bank credit in Indonesia.Implication - There must be an acceleration in strengthening the capital structure of Islamic banks in Indonesia.Originality- This research fills in the blanks about syariah bank credit risk based on the type of financing agreement.

Abstract

One of the halal lifestyles that continues to increase in Indonesia is the use of halal cosmetic products. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of religiosity and country of origin on purchase decisions for halal cosmetic products through the variable halal awareness as an intervening variable. Analysis of the model used is Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The data in this study are primary data with 273 generation Z respondents in Central Java Province who use halal cosmetic products. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling method. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence between religiosity and country of origin on purchase decisions for halal cosmetic products. Furthermore, halal awareness is able to mediate the relationship between religiosity and country of origin on the decision to purchase halal cosmetic products. Policy implications that can be applied by stakeholders include increasing halal education policies, strengthening halal certification on imported cosmetic products, facilitating halal certification on MSME products, and helping to promote local halal cosmetic products.

Abstract

Research Originality: Global economic uncertainty has increased in recent years, leading to an appreciation of the US dollar relative to most global currencies, including the Indonesian rupiah. The novelty of this study is the inclusion of natural resource commodity price index variables, given the importance of these commodities in Indonesia's balance of trade.Research Objectives: This study aims to examine the effect of rupiah exchange rate depreciation on Indonesia's trade balance.Research Methods: This study uses a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to analyze Indonesia's balance of trade from January 2015 to December 2023, examining the potential J-Curve phenomenon resulting from the depreciation of the Indonesian rupiah.Empirical Result: Findings from the impulse response analysis suggest that the J-Curve phenomenon is present in Indonesia's balance of trade as a result of the rupiah's depreciation. The results of this study also confirm the positive effect of increasing natural resource commodity prices on Indonesia's trade balance.Implications: The implication of these findings is that exchange rate depreciation can improve Indonesia's trade balance only when natural resource commodity prices are rising. Conversely, if commodity prices decline, maintaining the stability of the rupiah exchange rate becomes crucial.JEL Classification: F11, F14, F31, Q02
