Abstract

This research aims to analyze how homeless people in Indonesia face gaps in obtaining their social and political rights using Kristian Stokke's political citizenship approach. Homeless people often experience marginalization that prevents them from accessing appropriate social services, as well as participating in the political process. As well as the inhibiting factors that cause this inequality will be discussed in this article, including structural barriers, inadequate regulations, and social stigma and government efforts to overcome the gap between homeless people, to understand whether these efforts are successful in fulfilling the politics of redistribution (welfare) and politics. representation (political participation) for homeless people. This research uses a qualitative approach method by applying descriptive analysis methods. This method was chosen because it is relevant to the research objective, namely to conduct an in-depth study of the gaps in social and political rights faced by homeless people in Indonesia. Data collection techniques are carried out by examining various sources of information, such as books, scientific articles, academic journals, official documents and reports related to the research topic being studied. Research findings show that the rights of homeless people as Indonesian citizens, such as civil, political and social rights, have not been fully fulfilled. Based on Kristian Stokke's political approach to citizenship, fulfilling these basic rights is a state obligation that should be guaranteed to every citizen. However, research findings show that the state's constitutional obligations have not been optimally implemented, even though various social policies have been pursued.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of political oligarchy on the legislative process and the quality of democracy in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) during President Jokowi's administration (2019–2024). Employing a qualitative research method based on library studies, the research explores the relationship between political elites and large business groups in shaping public policies. The findings indicate that oligarchy significantly influences policy formation, exemplified by the revisions to the KPK Law, the Minerba Law, and the Omnibus Job Creation Law. These policies often favor elite groups over the broader public. The study also reveals that oligarchic dominance reduces transparency, accountability, and public participation in the legislative process, posing a threat to democratic norms. Furthermore, politicians' reliance on financial support from elite groups reinforces the oligarchy’s role in determining national policy directions. Based on these findings, it is recommended to enhance legislative transparency, strengthen public oversight, and develop inclusive mechanisms for public participation to improve the quality of democracy in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

The reading comprehension of grade IX students of MTs Palasa is still low, especially in reading narrative texts. so that the researcher was motivated to discuss the thesis entitled "The Effect of Using Listening-Reading-Discussion (LRD) Strategy on Students' Understanding of Reading Narrative Text at Mts Palasa". This research aims to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of using listening-read-discussion strategies on students' understanding of reading narrative texts. This research method is quantitative. The research design used is quasi-experimental. In the experimental class, the researcher used the listening-read-discuss method and in the control class, the researcher methods that are often used by teachers at the school, in 8 meetings with a time of 80 minutes for each class. The researcher used an instrument in the form of multiple choice. The instrument is given in pre-test and post-test. Before giving the treatment, the researcher gave a pre-test for the second class. Then after the treatment, the instrument was given in the form of a posttest. After giving the pre-test and post-test, the researcher analyzed the data using SPSS 25 to calculate the independent sample t-test. From the analysis of the data calculated using SPSS 25, this research shows differences in the value of the final significant mean between the classes, from the experimental class, was 70.00, while the final mean of the control class is 58.50. The hypothesis test shows that sig. 2 tailed (p) is 0.001 with alpha (α) is 0.05, so 0.002 < 0.05. It can be stated that Ho (Null Hypothesis) has been rejected and Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of listening-reading-discussion strategi affects the reading comprehension of ninth-grade students of MTs Palasa on narrative texts in the 2021/2022 academic year.
