Abstract

Manusela National Park borders several villages to the south. The proximity of the village location to the National Park is an opportunity to improve the family economy based on Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) through cultivating Trigona sp bees. The aim of Community Service activities is to educate and train the community of bee farming groups to provide stock. Community Service Activities were carried out in collaboration with the Manusela National Park Office, in Moso village, Central Maluku Regency on 21-25 November 2023. The communities who are stakeholders in this activity are honey farmer groups from 3 villages, namely: Moso village, Teluti Baru and Hattu. PKM activity participants are involved in all series of activities starting from delivering materials for making stups to placing stups. The resulting stup was 10 units and 3 units were placed in each village and 1 stup unit was placed around the location where the stup was made.

Abstract

Ukuran karakteristik makroskopis bervariasi menurut arah panjang batang bambu.

Abstract

Dusung is traditional land management in Maluku by planting various plant species in the same area. Factors such as intensive land management, selection and combination of plant species, vegetation structure, topography, soil, and others influence the economic and ecological productivity of dusung. Ecological productivity affects the biomass content, which indicates the potential for carbon absorption in the land. The method used in this research is direct measurements in the field of several carbon pools specifically for aboveground biomass. Data collection was guided by Indonesian National Standards (SNI) 7724-2019 concerning field measurements for estimating forest carbon stocks. The research result showed that the diversity of vegetation species in Dusung Rutong Village at all growth levels in the moderate category tends to be low, dominated by fruit plants such as Durian (Durio zibethinus). Tree-level species diversity is moderate because the community controls the species that grow on Dusung land. The total aboveground carbon stocks in Dusung Rutong Village are 106.424 tonnes/ha, consisting of trees 100.673 tonnes/ha, undergrowth 1.708 tonnes/ha, litter 1.124 tonnes/ha, necromass 0.042 tonnes/ha and bamboo (Schizostachyum brachycladum) 2.877 tonnes/ha while the potential for equivalent carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption of 390.221 tonnes/ha.

Abstract

Non-Timber Forest Products are a potential that can be managed to overcome forestry and community economic problems. Improvement of eucalyptus oil processing and management can affect the income of eucalyptus oil farmers. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge about improving the quality of eucalyptus oil through improving eucalyptus oil processing methods and utilizing eucalyptus leaf waste as an energy source through making charcoal briquettes. The stages of the activity are: 1) The initial approach is carried out with the head of the Buru FMU to facilitate meetings with the KPH-assisted farmer groups to be addressed, 2) Implementation of counseling, lectures and questions and answers about various knowledge related to the utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products. How is eucalyptus oil processed and how is the management carried out by eucalyptus oil farmers, and 3) Observation of eucalyptus oil cooking places to see the raw materials and boilers used. This activity was carried out cooperatively and well because the Waspait village community was very enthusiastic about their curiosity which was reflected when participating in the counseling which was carried out by building dialogue in the form of questions related to the eucalyptus oil processing activities carried out.

Abstract

Sago leaves are one of the biomass potentials that contain cellulose so that they can be used as raw materials for charcoal briquettes. The purpose of community service activities is to increase community knowledge so that they can utilize biomass potential as an alternative energy source. The stages of activities in implementing PKM activities are a social approach to the Ureng Village government one month before the PKM activity date. PKM activities are carried out in two sessions, namely: delivery of materials and practice of making charcoal briquettes starting from carbonization of sago leaves, making charcoal briquettes and utilizing charcoal briquettes by burning sago leaf charcoal briquettes. This activity went well because the people of Ureng Village were very enthusiastic, this was reflected when building a dialogue in the form of questions related to how to make charcoal briquettes.

Abstract

Damar resin is one of the non-timber forest product commodities that has high economic value. However, limitations in processing techniques and market access hinder optimal utilization by the community. This community service aims to increase community knowledge which will have an impact on increasing the economic value of damar resin through training in processing and marketing techniques in Hukuanakota Village, Inamosol District. The methods used include training in damar processing techniques, development of processed products, and digital-based marketing assistance. The results showed that the training increased community knowledge which is expected to improve the quality of damar products, which has implications for increasing selling prices and community income.
