Abstract

The lack of students' motivation towards learning mathematics is caused by various factors, including the use of traditional and conventional teaching models. This study aims to determine the application of the hands-on activity learning model with the help of handmade media, such as origami paper material, to increase student learning motivation in mathematics lessons. The research method carried out is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles, each with 4 stages. The subject of his research was a grade V student at MI Hidayatus Shibyan Jatirogo. The results showed that with the hands-on activity model, student learning motivation increased from cycle I by 57.14% and increased to 71.42% in cycle II. Meanwhile, student learning outcomes in the first cycle were 71.4% and increased by 85.7% in cycle II. If the application of this hands-on activity model is carried out by teachers continuously, better learning outcomes will be obtained and students will always be motivated to participate in mathematics lessons.

Abstract

This article explores the representation of fathers' roles in the Qur'an, addressing a recent bias that narrowly sees them as providers, overlooking their crucial role as character builders for their children. The Qur'an illuminates the father's role through the stories of Luqman, Ibrahim, and Syu'aib, showcasing the multifaceted nature of their roles with a focus on two-way communication and interpersonal dynamics. Using a qualitative approach, specifically a literature study with a descriptive-analytical method, the analysis reveals a communication framework in the Qur'an's verses concerning fathers and their children. The Qur'an delineates the responsibilities fathers should uphold in nurturing their children's development. Additionally, the stories of Luqman, Ibrahim, and Syu'aib demonstrate unique and individualistic fatherly approaches, with the communication strategies employed positively impacting the psychological well-being of children.

Abstract

Nowadays, as digital consumers in the adolescent and early adult demographic, students tend to prefer search engines over printed books when seeking information. This shift reflects changing preferences in information access, with the internet and search engines like Google becoming the primary sources of knowledge for the current generation. However, even though students tend to rely on search engines, they must develop a profound digital literacy level. This study aims to determine the efforts of lecturers in the Tarbiyah Faculty of IAI Al-Hikmah Tuban to strengthen students' digital literacy through online learning. This research approach is quantitative. The data obtained from the results of questionnaires to lecturers as respondents are then described, and conclusions drawn. The results obtained from this study are that all lecturers are still consistently implementing online learning and are considered quite effective in strengthening student digital literacy. Efforts by lecturers to improve students' digital literacy include activities such as assigning tasks, reinforcing lecture materials, and replacing class hours with sessions conducted via Google Classroom, Google Meet, Zoom Meeting, and WhatsApp. No significant obstacles are experienced by lecturers and students of the Tarbiyah Faculty of IAI Al-Hikmah Tuban operating the online learning platform. It's just that sometimes they are constrained by the internet network and cottage students who cannot independently access online learning applications due to limited computer technology facilities. This research demonstrates the importance of student's ability to operate technology in learning and highlights the role of lecturers in the success of students' digital literacy in the future.

Abstract

The 21st century learning paradigm has undergone a significant shift, demanding active participation from both educators and students in technology-based learning processes. This holds for the study of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), a mandatory component of the higher education curriculum. This literature research aims to highlight the urgency of leveraging e-learning in higher education for the study of IRE as a response to the challenges of the 21st century. The methodology employed in this study is literature research, examining 31 articles published in the last 5 years related to e-learning, IRE studies, and the learning paradigms of the 21st century. The research findings indicate the importance of e-learning in the study of IRE, providing students with learning experiences through digitalization and technology. Several learning management systems (LMS) are reviewed in this paper, such as Zoom Cloud Meeting, Google Classroom, Moodle, and Schoology. Through the features offered by these platforms, educators can innovate in managing digital-based learning, facilitating students' access to IRE learning materials, encouraging discipline in assignment submission, and enabling independent learning without constraints of space and time.

Abstract

Kondisi di masa pandemi mengakibatkan banyak lembaga pendidikan yang menerapkan pembelajaran secara daring, sehingga nilai-nilai karakter tidak bisa ditanamkan pada siswa MI secara maksimal. Di era new normal, beberapa sekolah mengambil kebijakan berupa pembelajaran dilakukan secara tatap muka dengan memakai sistem roling waktu dan mentaati protokol kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan nilai-nilai karakter melalui budaya sekolah pada era new normal di MI Bahrul Ulum Binangun Singgahan Tuban. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi kasus (case study) dengan yang berarti prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilaku yang dapat diamati (diobservasi) secara alamiah atau melalui kehidupan nyata (real-life-events). Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai oleh peneliti dalam penelitian ini meliputi kegiatan observasi langsung, observasi terlibat (participant observation), dokumentasi, wawancara/ interview, dan analisis dokumen atau analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini mendeskripsikan pembudayaan nilai-nilai karakter di MI Bahrul Ulum yang meliputi nilai karakter religious, nasionalis, mandiri, gotong-royong, dan integritas.

Abstract

The increasing undisciplined behavior, low responsibility, and decreasing social empathy among elementary school students signify demoralization. This study aims to analyze the acceptance of the Merdeka Curriculum and its implications for demoralization at the elementary school level. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The study subjects included the principal, teachers, students, and parents of students at MI Bahrul Ulum Binangun and SDI Al-Hadad in Singgahan District, Tuban Regency, East Java. The results showed that acceptance of the Merdeka Curriculum was quite diverse. Teachers at SDI Al-Haddad and MI Bahrul Ulum welcomed the flexibility and differentiation learning approach, although they still had difficulty optimally implementing project-based learning strategies. Students showed increased involvement in learning, especially in activities that foster creativity and collaboration. The Merdeka Curriculum positively contributed to reducing indications of student demoralization, especially by instilling the values ​​of independence, responsibility, and mutual cooperation. In its implementation, the effectiveness of this curriculum is greatly influenced by teacher readiness, adequate training, and support from the school and family environment.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the effectiveness of the jarimatika method in improving the multiplication skills of second-grade students in mathematics at SDI Al Hadad Kedungjambe Singgahan Tuban. This study is classified as qualitative research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that the jarimatika method can improve student learning outcomes in multiplication material. The application of the Jarimatika method in the second grade at SDI Al Hadad Kedungjambe Singgahan Tuban shows that implementing the Jarimatika method significantly improves various aspects of mathematics learning. There is an increase in student active participation from 45% to 85%, multiplication accuracy rising from 50% to 90%, calculation speed with the average time to complete multiplication problems reduced from 10 minutes to 5 minutes, and student confidence rising from 40% to 80%. Additionally, the number of students achieving the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM) significantly increased after applying this method. Inhibiting factors include students being noisy, often chatting, and lacking understanding. Supporting factors include the ease and practicality of using the jarimatika method and the teacher’s ability to effectively manage and condition the class.

Abstract

This study examines how Nurcholish Madjid’s theories on secularization have been reinterpreted and their impact on Indonesia’s current Islamic curriculum. Madjid’s perspective on secularization is not a rejection of religion but rather a process that can strengthen faith and foster a more inclusive educational system. Using a qualitative literature review, the research demonstrates how Madjid’s concepts of separating religious and political authority can serve as a foundation for a curriculum that integrates general knowledge with Islamic values. This approach aims to cultivate students critical thinking and tolerance. The findings highlight the relevance of Madjid’s ideas to contemporary issues in Indonesia, such as globalization and pluralism. The study concludes with recommendations for curriculum development aligned with Madjid's philosophy and advocates for further research into the practical application of his concepts in educational settings. Ultimately, this research contributes to understanding how Islamic education can adapt to a modern, multicultural society while maintaining its spiritual core.

Abstract

This Community Service Program focuses on training and mentoring elementary school students in quickly solving exam problems using the ESKIM method at the Paramadina Tutoring Center in Tuban. The ESKIM method, which includes emotion control, time management, solving easier problems first, recalling material, and carefully reading and directly solving problems, was applied to enhance the students' academic abilities. The community service initiative utilized a ServiceLearning approach, where students, teachers, and mentors collaborated in a continuous and mutually beneficial learning process. Before the training, the 10 participating students struggled with problem-solving, with an average score of 75. After the training and mentoring, there was a significant improvement, with the students' average scores rising to 95 to 100. These results demonstrate that the ESKIM method is effective in enhancing students' abilities, and the ServiceLearning approach provides a valuable model for community service in education, facilitating the transfer of practical and relevant knowledge.
