Abstract

The study is aimed to formulate the stategies of West Sumatera’s Tour Operator in facing the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis. The limitation of mobilization in travelling to break the chain of the spreading of COVID-19 Pandemic, has paralyzed the Tour operator business in all regions including in West Sumatera. The strategies are formulated using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Thread), by minimizing the weakness and thread and maximizing the strength and opportunity. Research data collection is conducted through in depth interview with some tour operator business stakeholders in West Sumatera, using purposive sampling method. Then, the data is analyzed descriptively, by noticing the strength, weakness, opportunity and thread factors of tour operator business in West Sumatera to formulate the strategies in facing the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis. The result reveals that there are several strategies conducted by tour operators in West Sumatera in the stage of short-term strategies, medium term strategies and long-term strategies to sustain the business. Keywords: strategies, business,tour operator, West Sumatera, COVID-19 pandemicAbstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan strategi usaha Biro Perjalanan Wisata (BPW) di Sumatera Barat dalam menghadapi krisis Pandemi COVID-19. Terhentinya mobilisasi dalam melakukan perjalanan wisata  untuk memutus mata rantai penyebaran Pandemi COVID-19 telah melumpuhkan usaha BPW diseluruh daerah tak terkecuali di Sumatera Barat. Strategi dirumuskan dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT  (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Thread),  dengan memperkecil kelemahan dan ancaman serta memperbesar  kekuatan dan peluang yang ada. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan beberapa stakeholder pelaku usaha BPW di Sumatera Barat dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Selanjutnya data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif, dengan memperhatikan faktor kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman yang dimiliki oleh BPW di Sumatera Barat untuk merumuskan strategi dalam menghadapi krisis Pandemi COVID-19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa strategi yang bisa dilakukan oleh usaha BPW Sumatera Barat yaitu strategi jangka pendek, jangka meneangah dan jangka panjang demi keberlangsungan usahanya.Kata Kunci: Strategi, usaha, Biro Perjalanan Wisata, Sumatera Barat, Pandemi COVID-19

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas mengenai penilaian kinerja dosen yang dilakukan oleh Jurusan perguruan tinggi Politeknik Negeri Padang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi kinerja dosen dilihat dari beberapa dimensi dan juga penilaian terhadap mata kuliah yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa apakah sudah mencapai standar yang ditetapkan. Penelitian ini melibatkan 450 orang mahasiswa dari tingkat 1 sampai tingkat 3 pada Prodi Administrasi Bisnis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap kinerj dosen benilai baik dan masih ada beberapa dimensi yang mendapatkan penilaian kurang baik seperti Kemampuan menghidup suasana kelasmasih mendapatkan nilai 2.56 atau masuk dalam kategori kurang baik. Dimensi lainnya yang menerima penilaian kurang adalah pemanfaatan pemakaian teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Dimensi yang mendapatkan nilai kurang akan dilakuka perbaikan sedangkan nilai baik akan dilakukan peningkatan agar mencapai baik sekali. Keterbatasan penelitian ini adalah masih dilakukan satu variable dan belum menambah dengan variable lainnya sehingga penelitian selanjutnya dapat ditambahkan variable lain agar lebih komplek dengan pengukuran yang baru.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how Sapta Pesona influences visitor satisfaction at the Padang Beach tourist attraction. The population in this study were visitors to the Padang Beach tourist attraction with a sample size of 100 respondents. The data collection method used was by distributing questionnaires online via Google Form. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability and classical assumption tests (linearity and normality). The data analysis method used is Simple Linear Regression Analysis, t test and coefficient of determination using SPSS version 21. The results of the research show that there is an influence of Sapta Pesona on visitor satisfaction at the Padang Beach tourist attraction. Based on the T test, it is known that Tcount>Ttable (15.866>1.661). The determination test shows that Sapta Pesona has an influence of 72% on visitor satisfaction visiting Pantai Padang and the remaining 28% is influenced by other variables that have not been examined in this research.

Abstract

Brand Image is a determining factor in decision making. This study aims to determine whether brand image (brand image), location affect the decision of prospective students to continue their studies in college. The place of research is Padang State Polytechnic with 244 students who are the class of 2022 in the Department of Commerce Administration. The research method uses quantitative methods with data collection using questionnaires, primary data obtained using quantitative analysis with data processing tools using SPSS. Data analysis was performed with multiple linear regression (independent variables brand image and location, while dependent variable is decision making). The percentage contribution of the influence of brand image and location variables on purchasing decisions is 46%, while the rest (100% - 46% = 54%) is influenced by other variables that are not taken into account in this study. The limitation of this research is that the number of samples is still small, namely 244 people and further research can be carried out with a large sample with the addition of other variables as factors that influence DNA, which can also be done with a mix method.

Abstract

Keterbatasan pengetahuan masyarakat Limau Manis hal ini termasuk anggota Forum Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Kelurahan Limau Manis, dalam mengelola potensi ekowisata Puncak Labung Limau Manis menjadi sebuah daya tarik belum dapat dimaksimal dengan baik. Maka diperlukan solusi yang tepat untuk menjawab persoalan yang dialami anggota Forum Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Kelurahan Limau Manis. Solusi dalam bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Pendekatan yang digunakan Metode Service Learning (SL) melibatkan serangkaian langkah yang mengintegrasikan pembelajaran akademis dengan pelayanan sosial kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan ini berupa pelatihan sadar wisata bagi Forum Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Kelurahan Limau Manis, pelatihan ini diharapkan akan memberikan pengetahuan, pemahaman dan keterampilan di bidang pariwisata, terutama sadar wisata dan sapta pesona. Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya Sapta Pesona dalam pengembangan ekowisata. Diharapkan, program serupa dapat dilaksanakan secara berkala untuk mendukung pengembangan ekowisata berbasis masyarakat yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Innovation plays a crucial role in shaping business competitive advantage. However, there is still little research in the digital era explaining how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can produce innovative performance amidst rapid technological developments. This study suggests that digital leadership is essential in driving innovative performance to achieve a competitive advantage. Drawing on the upper-echelon theory, this research examines how digital leadership influences competitive advantage through innovative performance. The survey was distributed to owners or managers of SMEs across several industries in Indonesia. A total of 113 SMEs took part in the survey and were included in the data collection. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling with the AMOS software. The research findings confirm that digital leadership influences SMEs' competitive advantage through innovative performance. Cross-sectional research and a self-report questionnaire are utilized in this investigation. We then engage in a thorough discussion of the research's implications.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the influence of entrepreneurial experience on the success of ethnic Minangentrepreneurs. The people of West Sumatra live an entrepreneurial life and are famous for the Minang ethnicity andalmost 34 percent of them live migratory as entrepreneurs in all regions in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitativeapproach using 150 samples, namely Minang ethnic entrepreneurs who have been entrepreneurs for at least 5 years. Dataprocessing using SEM with PLS. The results of the study show that there is a significant influence betweenentrepreneurial experience and the success of ethnic Minang entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Survival of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is important in uncertainty and rapid advancement of digitalization nowadays, which leads to significant changes in the business environment. SMEs must be able to be resilient and face turbulence to survive and maintain business continuity. To support this resilience, digital leaders are required to help enterprises transform and lead them to a more promising future. Thus, SMEs have a digital mindset so that they can recognize and exploit opportunities, as well as overcome the challenges of surviving in an increasingly dynamic environment. Based on Social Exchange Theory and Resource Base Theory, this study examines the relationship between digital leadership and SMEs resilience through the mediation of employee creativity. Based on a sample of 179 SMEs from various sectors in Indonesia. The data were analyzed using AMOS-SEM by assessing construct validity and reliability, as well as measurement and structural models. The analysis confirms the effect of digital leadership on SMEs' resilience. The findings also provide support for the mediating role of employee creativity. The findings reveal the effect mechanism of digital leaders on SMEs resilience and enrich the literature on antecedents of SMEs resilience. Practical implications and future research are also discussed.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) on Organizational Resilience (OR) while considering the mediating role of Leadership Ambidexterity (LA) in the context of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in West Sumatra. A quantitative causal research approach was employed, utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze data collected from 172 SMEs. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was conducted to ensure the validity and reliability of the measurement model. The findings indicate that EO positively and significantly influences OR (β = 0.431, p < 0.001) and has a significant effect on LA (β = 0.291, p < 0.001), which in turn impacts OR (β = 0.485, p < 0.001). The mediation analysis confirms that LA partially mediates the EO-OR relationship (β = 0.287, p < 0.001), suggesting that while EO directly strengthens OR, leadership ambidexterity enhances this relationship further. These results highlight the importance of fostering entrepreneurial proactiveness, risk-taking, and innovation, along with adaptive leadership strategies to enhance SMEs’ resilience. This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the strategic role of ambidextrous leadership in driving organizational adaptability and sustainability. Practical implications suggest that SME leaders should integrate exploratory and exploitative leadership approaches to strengthen resilience and improve business performance.
