Abstract

Organic pesticides (natural) are medicinal herbs for controlling plant pests and diseases made from natural ingredients. One of the plants that can be used as a natural pesticide is a papaya leaf for pest aphids (sucker pest), grasshoppers and caterpillars. Some advantages of vegetable pesticides are, 1) friendly to the environment because it does not contain harmful chemicals; 2) the residue does not settle on the ground: 3) does not cause resistance / immunity of the pest; 4) can consume healthy food because not polluted dangerous chemicals; 5) low cost because it uses simple technology. Implementation of training of natural pesticide manufacture in Baru Village Reok District is with papaya leaf base, detergent and water. The result of this training is that people are satisfied and interested in doing it themselves at home and then used on agricultural land. The advantages of the pesticide is because the process of making it very simple and by using materials that are cheap and easy

Abstract

Abstrak: Guru selalu berinteraksi dengan banyak orang antara lain dengan peserta didik. Pada masa pandemik Covid 19, maka perlu menyediakan hand sanitizer. Akan tetapi para guru di SDK Akel mengalami kesulitan dalam mempeoleh hand sanitizer yang bermerk. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam membuat hand sanitizer berbahan dasar daun sirih. Mitra kegiatan adalah para guru di SDK Akel yang berjumlah 13 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, dan praktik. Pada akhir kegiatan, guru diminta mempraktikkan ulang langkah-langkah pembuatan hand sanitizer di depan tim. Adapun bahan yang digunakan dalam pembuatan pembuatan hand sanitizer adalah daun sirih, jeruk nipis, dan air bersih. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pembuatan peserta dalam membuat hand sanitizer. Hal ini terlihat pada hasil angket dan praktik.  Abstract:  Teachers always interact with many people, including with students. During the Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to provide hand sanitizer. However, the teachers at the Akel have difficult in obtaining branded hand sanitizers. Therefore, training activities for making hand sanitizers are needed. The purpose of this activity is to improve the skills of teachers in making hand sanitizers made from betel leaf. The activity partners are 13 Elementary School teachers at Akel. The method used is lecture, demonstration, and practice. At the end of the activity, the teacher was asked to re-practice the steps for making hand sanitizers. The materials used in the manufacture of hand sanitizers are betel leaf, lime, and clean water. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the knowledge and skills of participants in making hand sanitizers. This can be seen in the results of the questionnaire and practice.

Abstract

Shallots are a horticultural commodity with high economic value because shallots are always used in almost every dish. The importance of knowledge about shallot cultivation technology according to the agroecosystem has yet to be fully distributed at the Bantang Cama Farmers Group in Manggarai Regency. The targets to be achieved from this PKM program are increasing the skills of farmer groups in Waso Village regarding the cultivation of Bima Brebes shallots, as well as the results of adaptation of Bima Brebes shallots through the implementation of cultivation carried out in the highlands. Service activities were carried out in the "Bantang Cama" farmer group in Waso Village, Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, with 36 participants. They went through the stages of field observation, literature study, outreach, demonstration, and evaluation. The evaluation was carried out using a pretest and posttest to measure the improvement in the skills of the farmer group and see the results of the Bima Brebes shallots that had been cultivated. The results of the service showed that the skills of the farmer group after participating in the socialization increased from 38.50% to 87.60%. Bima Brebes shallots produced low plant height, number of leaves, and tillers. This shows a mechanism of low adaptability to the agroecosystem, the highlands in Waso Village.

Abstract

Fakta rendahnya literasi membaca di Indonesia bukanlah isapan jempol semata. Pasalnya, masalah berkaitan dengan rendahnya literasi membaca dialami Bangsa Indonesia mulai pada level internasional sampai lokal. Dalam konteks lokal, salah satu sekolah dasar di NTT, Kabupaten Manggarai, yakni SDI Kusu, ditemukan siswa kelas IV yang belum mampu membaca lancar dan pemahaman. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kondisi literasi membaca yang rendah pada siswa sekolah dasar melalui kegiatan-kegiatan yang memicu meningkatnya literasi membaca dengan memaksimalkan penerapan tahap pembiasaan dan pengembangan. Adapun kegiatan tersebut mencakup latihan membaca nyaring, latihan membaca pemahaman, membuat peta konsep bacaan, dan menceritakan kembali isi bacaan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes dan observasi. Mitra kegiatan ini yakni SDI Kusu, Kabupaten Manggarai, NTT. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan evaluasi sesuai kegiatan yang telah dilakukan, kemampuan siswa dalam membaca pemahaman dan membaca nyaring semakin baik serta menguasai tekniknya. Demikian juga kemampuan membuat peta konsep dan menceritakan kembali bacaan yang sudah dibaca semakin meningkat. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi tahap pembiasaan dan pengembangan literasi membaca dapat membentuk budaya literasi pada siswa sekolah dasar. Adapun saran untuk kegiatan yang akan datang adalah pembuatan jurnal membaca untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan literasi siswa sekolah dasar yang sudah terbentuk

Abstract

Utilization of narrow land with intercropping patterns on seasonal crops needs to be done to minimize crop failure and increase farmers' income. The people in Laci Carep Village generally cultivate plants in monoculture (planting one type of plant on cultivated land). The target to be achieved from this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the people in Laci Carep Village about cultivating horticultural seasonal crops with intercropping patterns. This activity was carried out in the community in Laci Carep Village, Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara with a total of twenty participants. The implementation stages of the activity include land surveys, dissemination, field demonstrations, mentoring, and evaluation with pre-tests and post-tests to determine the level of understanding and skills of the participants. The results of this activity show that community knowledge about intercropping patterns increased by 27% and community skills in implementing intercropping patterns on horticultural plants also increased by 35%. This shows that this activity was successfully implemented and right on target.
