Abstract

Abstract This research aims to determine the effectivity of learning mathematics using Quantum Teaching approach in matter of Linear Equations Systems in Two Variables at Class VIII Junior High School 5 Pontianak. This method used the experimental method. The results showed 1) Students activities classified as high at 67.83%, 2) There is a difference with students learning completenes in classical as evidenced by the results of t-test analysis that shows mastery students > 75% at a significance level of 5%, and 3) There is a difference learning outcomes between the experimental class and control class as evidenced by the Mann-Whittney test obtain sig 0.001 < 0.05. So, learning mathematics by Quantum Teaching approach in the matter of Linear Equations Systems of Two Variables in class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak is effective by aspects of the students by looking at the learning activity, learning completeness the of the students, and the differences in learning outcomes. Abstract

Kata Kunci: Eksponen, Kesulitan Peserta Didik, Scaffolding  Abstract: The difficulty of students in solving mathematics problems can be caused by their lack of understanding of prerequisite materials, resulting in weak foundations to answer questions on new topics. This study aims to describe the efforts of scaffolding provided by teachers to overcome the difficulties of vocational high school students in solving exponent problems. The method employed in this research is qualitative descriptive, and the sample was randomly selected based on the results of the Diagnostic Test. The sample includes responses from students categorized into high, medium, and low achievement criteria. Then, the samples were analyzed, and scaffolding was provided to the respondents. The scaffolding was conducted independently through interview techniques and implemented to provide assistance minimally to build students' conjectural thinking to overcome difficulties they encountered in solving exponent problems. The scaffolding provided includes structured task assignments, which are categorized as scaffolding level 1, recalling previously learned concepts categorized as scaffolding level 2, and assisting students in connecting and developing concepts they already possess categorized as scaffolding level 3. In the end, the researcher administered a final test to assess the effectiveness of the provided scaffolding. Keywords: Exponents, Student Difficulty, Scaffolding.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Bifidobacterium sp. and Guazuma ulmifolia leaf extract on Japanese quail egg production, including egg mass, haugh unit (HU), and egg yolk colour. A total of 96 quails were in the early stages of production, which were randomized into four treatments and six replications. The treatments were (T0) without Bifidobacterium sp. and G. ulmifolia leaf extract, (T1) 0.2% Bifidobacterium sp., (T2) 0.2% G. ulmifolia leaf extract, and (T3) 0.2% Bifidobacterium sp. + 0.2% G. ulmifolia leaf extract. Egg mass data was collected in the third and fourth week of the treatment period, while the HU data and egg yolk colour were carried out on the last week of the treatment period. The treatment groups showed significant differences in egg mass. Groups T2 and T3 showed significant differences in egg yolk colour. The combination of feed additives can increase the value of HU but not significantly (p>0.05). In conclusion, the combination of 0.2% Bifidobacterium sp. and 0.2% G. ulmifolia leaf extract in drinking water can produce the highest egg quality.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to develop algebra teaching materials based on numeracy literacy to enhance vocational high school students’ understanding of mathematical concepts and their ability to solve contextual problems.Method: The research used a qualitative research and development approach following the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, expert validation sheets, questionnaires, and numeracy literacy tests administered to tenth-grade students.Findings: The analysis stage revealed that only 44 percent of students met the minimum standard of numeracy literacy. After the implementation of the developed materials, 71.8 percent of students achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), indicating improved performance. Expert validation yielded a score of 81.67, suggesting high validity. Students also gave positive responses, with average ratings of 80.67 percent for content, design, and language.Significance: The study demonstrates that algebra teaching materials designed through a structured development model and grounded in numeracy literacy can significantly improve student learning outcomes in vocational education. These materials help bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world application, supporting national educational goals related to the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) and preparing students for professional environments.
