Abstract

The literacy ability of Indonesian children is lower than children in other countries. In addition, students' vocabulary mastery is low. Even though the teacher had given vocabulary instruction to the students during the reading comprehension class, they still translated the text word by word into Indonesian. This study analyzes the effect of online learning on the acquisition of critical reading among students. This study used a pre-experimental study without a control group. Tests for the validity and reliability of reading comprehension texts and vocabulary tests were conducted before the test involving 40 participants. The technique used to collect data is a test. Validity and reliability were measured using some of the same texts used as pre-test and post-test. The pre-test and post-test scores were analyzed by Wilcoxon statistical analysis to test their reading scores before and after the intervention on the same subjects. The findings from the t-test revealed that the critical reading intervention was beneficial for students. Further studies showed that the instructional intervention adopted could help them improve their reading comprehension performance. These findings are expected to provide a teaching model that responds to the typical rise of today's online learning.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPrevalensi diabetes di Indonesia menempati rangking kelima tertinggi di dunia. Pada tahun 2021, jumlah warga Indonesia yang terdiagnosis diabetes mencapai 19,5 juta dan diprediksikan akan terus berkembang di tahun 2030 menjadi 21,3 juta. Salah satu faktor resiko pencetus diabetes mellitus tipe II yaitu pola makan. Hal ini dapat diperbaiki melalui konsumsi pangan dengan indeks glikemik (IG) dan beban glikemik (BG) rendah. Pangan berkarbohidrat dapat ditentukan kecepatan dipecahnya menjadi glukosa dan terserap ke dalam darah dengan menggunakan IG, sedangkan BG sudah mempertimbangkan IG beserta jumlah karbohidrat aktual yang terdapat dalam satu kali penyajian pangan tertentu. Review ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui IG dan BG sebagai faktor risiko diabetes mellitus tipe II pada pangan sumber karbohidrat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pencarian beberapa pustaka berupa original research article maupun review article yang memuat informasi mengenai IG dan BG pada pangan sumber karbohidrat. Hasil review diketahui bahwa cara pengolahan pangan yang berbeda pada jagung bakar, rebus dan tumis serta perbedaan jenis karbohidrat  pada nasi, singkong dan jagung dapat mempengaruhi variasi nilai IG yang dihasilkan. Selain itu, kandungan karbohidrat untuk satu kali penyajian pada nasi, singkong dan jagung juga mempengaruhi variasi nilai BG yang dihasilkan. Simpulannya dapat diketahui bahwa, cara pengolahan, jenis karbohidrat, dan jumlah takaran yang dikonsumsi dari suatu pangan dapat menjadi pertimbangan oleh masyarakat dalam memilih asupan untuk diet rendah gula. Kata Kunci : Diabetes Mellitus Tipe II, Indeks Glikemik, Beban Glikemik ABSTRACTThe prevalence of diabetes in Indonesia is the fifth highest in the world. The number of diabetics in Indonesia in 2021 will reach 19.5 million people and is predicted to increase to 21.3 million people in 2030. One of the risk factors for triggering type II diabetes mellitus is diet. This can be corrected through food management with glycemic index (GI) and glycemic load (BG). Carbohydrate foods can be determined by the speed at which they are broken down into glucose and absorbed into the blood using the GI, while the BG has considered the GI and the actual amount of carbohydrates contained in one serving of certain foods. This review aims to determine GI and BG as risk factors for type II diabetes mellitus in food sources of carbohydrates. The method used is a search for several literature in the form of original research articles and review articles which contain information about GI and BG in food sources of carbohydrates. The results of the review revealed that different food processing methods for grilled, boiled and stir-fried corn as well as different types of carbohydrates in rice, cassava and corn can affect the variation in the GI values produced. In addition, the carbohydrate content for one serving of rice, cassava and corn also affects the variation in the resulting BG value. In conclusion, it can be seen that the method of processing, the type of carbohydrates, and the amount of dose consumed from a food can be considered by the community in choosing intake for a low sugar diet. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus Type II, Glycemic Index, Glycemic Load

Abstract

Tanin pada tumbuhan merupakan salah satu metabolit sekunder yang sangat penting. Berdasarkan struktur kimia tanin diklasifikasikan menjadi dua, yaitu tanin terhidrolisis dan tanin terkondensasi. Selain itu, tanin dalam bidang kesehatan memiliki aktivitas farmakologi sebagai, anti-diare, anti-oksidan, anti-bakteri, dan astringen. Pada studi literatur kali ini akan membahas klasifikasi tanin berdasarkan struktur kimia dan ke empat aktivitas farmakologi dari tanin. Studi literatur ini dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data primer melalui pencarian dengan sistem online pada beberapa sumber jurnal dengan tahun publikasi 2013 sampai 2022. Berdasarkan dari pokok bahasan yang telah dibahas aktivitas farmakologi pada tanin yang paling baik adalah sebagai antibakteri karena memiliki kemampuan yang sama dengan senyawa fenolat dalam mempresipitasikan protein bakteri dan saling berkaitan dengan aktivitas antidiare, yaitu pada diare yang disebabkan oleh adanya inflamasi dari bakteri. Kata Kunci : Tanin, Klasifikasi, Antibakteri

Abstract

Agriculture is an important sector in the national economy, therefore the development priority is placed on development in the economic sector with an emphasis on the agricultural sector. Income in farming activities generally cannot be stable from time to time. The objectives of this study include (1) to determine the relationship between farmer characteristics and farmer income in farmer groups BPP Plumbon District, (2) to determine the relationship between the implementation of organic rice farming systems and farmer income in farmer groups BPP Plumbon District, (3) To determine the relationship between the characteristics of farmers and the implementation of organic rice farming systems with farmers' income in the BPP Farmer Group, Plumbon District. The research design used in this study was a quantitative research with a descriptive survey research technique. The results showed that: (1) there was a moderate relationship between farmer characteristics and farmer income in the BPP Farmer Group in Plumbon District, namely 0,703, (2) there is a moderate relationship between the application of organic rice farming systems and farmers' income in the BPP Farmer Group in Plumbon District, namely 0.643, (3) there is a significant relationship between farmer characteristics and the application of organic farming systems to farmer incomes. Based on the output that tarithmetic X1 = 7.551 and X2 = 5.252> ttable which is 1.998.
