Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of Islamic Art Therapy with Doodle Art in escalating student’s self-confidence at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, as well as the effect of therapy. The study uses a qualitative experimental case study with single subject design model. Descriptive-comparative analysis is used by collecting data through observations, interviews, questionnaire, and documentation. The subjects were two students who had 10 indicators of low self-confidence based on observations and interviews, and their self-confidence scores were at a weak level based on the Lauster questionnaire. The five stages of therapy were implemented to the subjects six times in a month, including Warm up, Draw My Emoji, Motivational Session, Draw My Doodle, and the last, Evaluation and Follow up. The results showed that therapy has been implemented as planned procedure, however, at the first and second meetings, the motivational session requires a fairly long portion of time. The effects of therapy were emerged on changes in the level of student self-confidence. Seven out of 10 indicators have changed, which means there is a fairly high increase in self-confidence. However, the confidence score of two subjects was still in low level based on the Lauster questionnaire, even so, the score shows an increase. Suggestions for further research, the results might be different if the process of Islamic art therapy considers aspects in the Lauster questionnaire.

Abstract

This study aims to present a more complete understanding of science philosophy of Islamic Guidance and Counseling by examining it from a philosophical point of view so that it deserves to be called an independent science. Islamic guidance and counseling as an independent science will be able to know what the object of study is, it can be verified, can be traced to the source and method of obtaining it, as well as visible ethics, aesthetics and benefits. This study seeks to find out the paradigm of science of BKI in Islamic Religious Higher Education (PTKI), more precisely the BKI Study Program which is under the auspices of the Da'wah Faculty at UIN, IAIN and STAIN and to see its position beside the BK Study Program at non-PTKI universities. This paper is the result of library research which explores data on the science of BKI from various sources, ranging from books, articles, journals and online media. The results of the study show that there are different paradigms in viewing the science of guidance and counseling between western scientists and Islam, where the truth of science in the west is determined by ratio and senses, while Islam rests its truth on revelation (Al-Qur'an and Hadith), which is also does not leave the findings of the ratio and senses.

Abstract

This article aims to explain and understand the Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) technique and its development. This article uses the literature review method by discussing themes through relevant books and journals. The analysis technique used is content analysis. The results of this article show that the process of SFBT techniques and approaches need to carry Islamic values so that it does not only treat physically but also forms a kaffah Muslim by Islamic teachings. The reliability of a counselor is also needed so that this rapid counseling technique can run optimally. Islam-based SFBT not only helps counselors deal with life's problems but also helps them achieve worldly and afterlife happiness and peace of mind, by living life by the rules and instructions of Allah SWT. This method encourages counselors to focus on solutions and their potential so that they can overcome problems effectively and build a better future. The combination of the SFBT approach and Islamic values provides a powerful and holistic framework for counseling, helping individuals develop mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Abstract

Abstract

Death is usually considered a frightening specter by most people, so any effort is made to achieve a healthy life, "live all the time". Preaching about death are usually accompanied by images of torture and hell. This paper attempts to present aspects of Islamic counseling in the context of facing death by KH Muhammad Imam Syairozi in his Da'wa . The descriptive qualitative method was used to analyze aspects of Islamic counseling in the video lecture on the Youtube Channel, and was completed with confirmation through direct interviews with the person concerned. This research found 3 new things related to the study of Islamic counseling in the mission of KH Muhammad Imam Syairozi. He uses the "basyiron" strategy, which is giving good news, using analogous examples of daily life behaviors and comprehensive illustrations of human life. Some of the contents of his Da'wa that is interesting include: "The natural world of Barzakh is more perfect than the natural world", "God's creations are many, there is a natural world, natural Barzakh, don’t you want to go there?".

Abstract

Understanding behaviour plays a vital role for students in maximising their potential to achieve academic success and reach professional and life objectives. This study aims to assess the impact of motivational coaching rooted on spiritual principles on enhancing the learning behaviour of pesantren students. The study utilised quantitative research with a pretest-posttest control group design. Ten 11th-grade students from Madrasah Aliyah Bilingual - Pesantren Modern Al Amanah Krian Sidoarjo Indonesia, who exhibited low scores on the learning behaviour questionnaire, had motivational counselling treatment as part of the research. This study utilised the Mann-Whitney U test for data analysis. The results show that the Z-score is -3.318 and the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.001, which is less than 0.05, resulting in the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). Spiritual-based motivational coaching influences the learning behaviour of pesantren pupils. Future research should investigate changes in meeting sessions, populations, and research methodologies in spiritual-based motivational therapy and its impact on students' learning behaviour.

Abstract

Discipline is a fundamental value in education that has a significant influence on student learning achievement and character development. Obedience, compliance, and orderliness, which are important aspects of an individual's personality in the family, school, and community environments, are reflected in discipline. However, there are still challenges with low student discipline, which is influenced by various internal and external factors. The role of guidance and counseling (BK) teachers is vital in providing motivation through appropriate counseling services. An effective discipline management program includes planning, implementation, evaluation, and consistency from all parties involved. This study aims to identify the programs implemented by the BK teacher team at SMPN 13 Surabaya to build student discipline, as well as the behavior modification techniques applied. With a descriptive qualitative approach involving interviews, observations, and document analysis, this study found that the programs implemented include morning greetings, collecting cellphones in the BK room, congregational prayers, and participation in Sekolah Arek Suroboyo. Behavior modification techniques applied include positive reinforcement, token economy, and negative reinforcement. This research enhances our understanding of effective strategies for managing student discipline through behavior modification, and provides a model that other schools can implement.
