In terms of publication media, the Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business Research has emerged as a popular platform. Topic mapping results reveal that the keyword "Indonesia" is a focal point in the study of productive waqf. Topics closely related to Indonesia, such as potential, productive waqf, cash waqf, empowerment, development, and company management, are important aspects in the management and empowerment of waqf in the country. Newer research areas, such as empirical evidence, financing models, cash waqf literacy, cash waqf, and Baitul Maal wat Tamwil, have likely been developing in recent years. In terms of density, topics like impact, empirical evidence, and financing models appear to be less explored and may present promising research areas for the future.

Abstract

Writing high-quality academic articles is a challenge for many academics at developing higher education institutions, including at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Islam dan Bahasa Arab (STIBA) Makassar. These challenges include a lack of understanding regarding proper writing formats, appropriate research methodologies, publication ethics standards, and language barriers, particularly in writing scholarly work in English. This Community Service Program (PkM), in the form of the Scientific Journal Halakah Program (HAJI), aims to enhance the understanding and skills of lecturers in writing scientific journal articles through intensive guidance and systematic mentoring, especially for novice lecturers, in the process of producing high-quality academic articles. The methods used in this program include face-to-face lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice through several group/halakah sessions. This program successfully enhanced the understanding and skills of lecturers, particularly novice lecturers, in academic journal writing through intensive guidance and systematic mentoring. Evaluation results indicate that the program was both relevant and effective, as participants demonstrated improved comprehension of journal manuscript structure, research methodologies, the review process, and the use of reference management tools. Additionally, the program boosted participants' confidence in scientific publication and provided new insights into publication ethics. The program’s success has positively impacted the quality of lecturers’ articles, enhanced the institution’s reputation, and fostered a writing culture that supports research quality and innovation at STIBA Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to measure students' perceptions of the smartphone usage restriction policy implemented by the campus. The research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method and is analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The findings indicate that the majority of students hold a positive view of the policy, with most respondents agreeing that it helps them maintain discipline, stay focused on their studies, reduce time spent on less productive activities such as gaming and social media, and enhance their interaction with the campus environment. The policy is also considered effective in supporting better character development among students. The implications of these findings suggest that smartphone usage restrictions can be an effective tool for improving the quality of education and character formation in higher education settings.

Abstract

The halal food industry constitutes one of the strategic sectors with a significant contribution to both the global and national economy. Indonesia’s vast potential, as the country with the world’s largest Muslim population, necessitates well-directed and sustainable strengthening strategies to position the nation as a global hub for the halal industry. This study aims to analyze an integrated strategy for strengthening Indonesia’s halal food industry. The research employs a literature review method, drawing on academic publications, industry reports, and policy documents. The findings reveal four interrelated strategic pillars to enhance the halal food industry in Indonesia: (1) improving productivity and competitiveness, (2) implementing and reinforcing policies and regulations, (3) strengthening finance and infrastructure, and (4) enhancing halal branding and public awareness. Productivity improvements encompass reinforcing the halal value chain, developing competent human resources, empowering business actors including MSMEs and Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), and promoting research and innovation. Policy and regulatory strengthening focus on harmonizing halal standards with international benchmarks and fostering a conducive business climate. Financial and infrastructural support provides a solid foundation for sustainable growth, while strengthening halal branding and awareness shapes market preferences and expands global reach. Consistent implementation of these strategies has the potential to significantly increase the sector’s contribution to GDP, create employment opportunities, and boost exports of halal products.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the review of Islamic law regarding the implementation of profit sharing in the management of rice fields in Pakkanna Village, Tanasitolo District, Wajo Regency. The type of research used is qualitative research in the form of field research with a normative and social approach. The results showed that the cooperative system for managing ricefields in Pakkanna Village used a profit-sharing system called the maruma system, in which the land owner gave his ricefields to cultivators to work on, while the seeds came from farmers. The distribution is 2:1, where 2 parts are for sharecroppers and 1 part is for landowners. Contract agreements are only made verbally, because of mutual trust. The profit-sharing system in Pakkanna Village, in Islamic law, has met the requirements because the contract is based on the Qur'an and hadith. In addition, this contract has become a custom that does not conflict with syara' and law, so the use of the profit sharing system is permissible.
