Abstract

Although numerous countries have conducted studies on the function of school principals as supervisors, some principals, instructors, and even supervisors lack a thorough understanding of academic supervision. In the Province of Indonesian East Kalimantan, this study intends to examine the principal's function as a planner for academic supervision in the implementation of the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT) curriculum. The headmaster, a vice principal, and two teachers were all participants in the qualitative interview process used in this study. Thematic and interpretive analysis was done on the interview data. According to research findings, the JSIT curriculum was implemented successfully in the province of East Kalimantan by using school principals as academic supervision planners. Compiling the program, compiling and scheduling the implementation of academic supervision, and creating supervision tools in accordance with the JSIT curriculum are the three stages that make up the planning process

Abstract

Kegiatan analisis ini bertujuan dalam mengekplorasi peran yang dimainkan oleh supervisor kepala sekolah di dalam upaya peningkatan kemampuan profesional guru serta mengidentifikasi strategi efektif yang digunakan dalam proses tersebut. Konteks penelitian didasarkan pada pemahaman bahwa pendidikan berkualitas memerlukan pendidikan yang memiliki kemampuan profesional yang secara baik, dan supervisor kepala sekolah berperan penting dalam memfasilitasi pengembangan kompetensi tersebut. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjawab dua pertanyaan utama: (1) seberapa besar peran supervisor kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru? (2) Strategi apa saja yang efektif digunakan oleh supervisor kepala sekolah didalam upaya mendukung pengembangan kompetensi guru. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan pendekatan dengan melakukan wawancara secara kualitatif komprehensif terhadap supervisor kepala sekolah dan guru yang menjadi obyek pengamatan. Menganalisis data yang dikumpulkan secara tematik serta diidentifikasikan susunan kalimat dan pokok pikiran terkait peran dan strategi supervisor kepala sekolah dalam upaya peningkatan kemampuan profesional guru. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini akan memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam tentang pentingnya peran supervisor kepala sekolah terhadap upaya pembinaan guru dan juga akan memberikan wawasan yang berharga tentang strategi yang efektif dalam mendukung pengembangan kompetensi profesional guru. Implikasi dari temuan hasil bisa memberikan kontribusi yang berarti dalam usaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas. pendidikan melalui pembinaan guru yang lebih efektif, sehingga berdampak pada peningkatan mutu pendidikan secara keseluruhan. Abstract

This article explores the role of educational technology (EdTech) in improving literacy outcomes, focusing on diverse contexts such as Indonesia and Finland. In countries like Indonesia, where educational disparities are prevalent, especially in rural areas, EdTech has the potential to bridge resource gaps and provide equitable access to quality educational content. This review synthesizes findings from existing studies on the effectiveness of digital tools such as e-books, learning management systems, and gamified applications in enhancing literacy. The method involves a systematic review of literature, examining the impact of EdTech in multilingual and resource-poor settings, with a comparative analysis of Finland's successful integration of technology in its education system. The results demonstrate that EdTech can improve literacy by providing accessible, engaging, and personalized learning experiences. Furthermore, tools like language translation and adaptive learning platforms can cater to diverse linguistic and educational needs. The discussion highlights how EdTech, when effectively implemented, can foster more inclusive and equitable educational opportunities. In conclusion, the study recommends that governments implement policies supporting EdTech, schools invest in teacher training and infrastructure, and EdTech developers create affordable, context-specific solutions. Future research should focus on longitudinal and quantitative studies to assess the long-term impact of EdTech on literacy development.

Abstract

In today's world of education, educational technology is integrated with Metaverse. However, in reality, there are still many schools that have not utilized Metaverse in the learning process. In theory, with the help of Metaverse, it can increase interest in learning. However, in reality, student learning outcomes in mathematics, science and social studies, science and social studies subjects obtained by students are actually low. This urgently needs to be studied with the gap between theory and facts in the field, with the aim of analyzing the extent to which Metaverse technology is used in the learning process in the classroom, especially in the learning process of mathematics, science and social studies, science and social studies in junior high schools. The research method used is quantitative using a questionnaire survey. The research sample was 360 teachers spread across Samarinda. The sample selection was carried out randomly to teachers who had used Metaverse as a tool in the learning process. Data collection techniques with questionnaires. Assessment scale from point 1 to point 5. Analysis techniques with descriptive statistics assisted by SPSS Version 25.0 by calculating the mean, percentage, standard deviation and standard deviation. As a result, teachers proved to be proficient in using Metaverse technology in teaching mathematics, science and social studies, science and social studies. It was found that Metaverse technology has been effectively integrated into teachers' teaching methods and teachers provide better learning experiences to students. The conclusion is that there is a significant difference between teachers' attitudes regarding the level of use of Metaverse technology. However, no significant difference was observed based on teachers' experiences in learning.

Abstract

Manajemen yang baik sangat penting dalam mengarahkan bisnis ke arah yang lebih terstruktur dan berkelanjutan. Namun, banyak pemilik MSMEs yang menjalankan bisnis mereka berdasarkan pengalaman dan intuisi, tanpa didukung oleh pengetahuan manajemen yang memadai (Setiawan, 2020). Kondisi ini diperparah dengan minimnya akses terhadap pendidikan formal dalam bidang manajemen atau bisnis.Selain itu, banyak MSMEs yang tidak memiliki strategi yang jelas dalam menggunakan media sosial atau platform digital lainnya. Mereka sering kali hanya mengikuti tren tanpa memiliki tujuan yang spesifik atau rencana jangka panjang. Hal ini mengakibatkan penggunaan media online yang tidak konsisten dan tidak terarah, sehingga potensi penuh dari media online tidak dapat dimaksimalkan (Wicaksono, 2021). Dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, permasalahan ini perlu diatasi dengan memberikan panduan dan strategi pemasaran digital yang terstruktur dan mudah diikuti.Selain tantangan dalam memulai digitalisasi, mitra MSMEs juga menghadapi permasalahan dalam memastikan keberlanjutan dan adaptasi terhadap perkembangan teknologi yang cepat. Teknologi digital terus berubah dan berkembang, sehingga kemampuan untuk beradaptasi menjadi kunci keberhasilan. Banyak MSMEs yang tertinggal karena tidak mampu mengikuti perkembangan teknologi, baik karena keterbatasan pengetahuan atau sumber daya (Raharjo, 2022).Metode pelaksanaan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk penguatan kapasitas manajerial dan komunikasi digital MSMEs di Indonesia melibatkan pendekatan yang partisipatif dan berbasis kebutuhan, pelatihan dan workshop terstruktur, mentoring dan pendampingan langsung, pengembangan modul pembelajaran digital, penyediaan akses ke sumber daya teknologi, serta evaluasi dan pemantauan berkelanjutan. Sedangkan untuk luaran yang dicapai berupak jurnal terakreditasi.

Abstract

School dropouts pose a significant challenge within the education system, requiring sustained intervention. The non-formal education equivalency program organized by the Learning Activity Center (SKB) serves as a crucial solution to provide re-access to education for dropouts. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the Non Formal Education Equivalency Program in handling school dropouts at SKB Kota Bangun. This evaluation covers stakeholder perceptions regarding the program's success, benefits perceived by students, and its contribution to providing a second chance in education. This research employed a qualitative approach with an evaluative study method. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, namely the Head of SKB, Tutors, and Students of the equivalency program, supported by document studies related to the program. Data analysis was performed descriptively-qualitatively to interpret findings regarding the implementation, results, and impact of the equivalency program at SKB Kota Bangun. The research findings indicate that the Non-Formal Education Equivalency Program at SKB Kota Bangun is considered successful by the management and highly beneficial by the students. This program effectively serves as a vehicle for school dropouts to continue their education and obtain an equivalency diploma (Package A, B, or C), which is considered vital for job seeking and future planning. Students perceive benefits not only in the form of diploma acquisition but also in increased knowledge, skills, and the expansion of social networks. Although potential challenges in implementation are acknowledged, the program's fundamental goal of providing a second chance and addressing the school dropout issue is deemed to have been achieved. This evaluation concludes that the Equivalency Program at SKB Kota Bangun plays an important role in the local education system by providing an alternative pathway for school dropouts. The program's success in providing hope and opening future opportunities for students affirms its relevance. These findings are expected to provide constructive input for the management of SKB Kota Bangun and relevant policymakers for the quality improvement and sustainability of similar non-formal education programs.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the role of digital competence in mediating the influence of transformational leadership on teacher performance in the digital era. The study was conducted in Samarinda City with a quantitative approach and path analysis method using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results of the analysis showed that transformational leadership had a significant effect on digital competence (β = 0.672, p < 0.001) and teacher performance (β = 0.538, p < 0.001), both directly and indirectly. After including digital competence as a mediating variable, the direct influence of leadership on performance decreased to β = 0.285, with an indirect effect of β = 0.413 and a Variance Accounted For (VAF) value of 52.8%, indicating the existence of partial mediation. These findings confirm that digital competence is an important mechanism that bridges the relationship between transformational leadership and teacher performance. Therefore, the integration of transformational leadership development strategies with digital competency training is the key to improving the quality of education in the digital era.

Abstract

The culture of work ethic in the educational environment, especially in high school, plays an important role in shaping the character, responsibility, and productivity of school residents. However, there are still many high schools in Indonesia that face challenges in fostering strong and sustainable work ethic values. This study aims to examine in depth the influence of school principal leadership, school community discipline, and work environment on the formation of a work ethic culture. The research uses a qualitative approach through literature studies of scientific sources published from 2020 to 2024. The data were analysed thematically by identifying the relationships between variables through the synthesis of concepts and theories. The results of the study show that the transformational leadership of school principals is very influential in building a commitment to a work ethic. Consistent discipline and a supportive work environment strengthen the application of work values such as integrity, diligence, and responsibility. These findings show that work ethic culture is formed through systemic interactions between leadership style, rule implementation, and work environment conditions. Strategic intervention is needed through leadership training, strengthening the educational discipline system, and improving the quality of school facilities and work climate to realise a work culture with character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi manajemen pendidikan di tiga jenjang utama—pendidikan dasar, menengah, dan perguruan tinggi—dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu dan efektivitas layanan pendidikan di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif, studi ini mengeksplorasi kebijakan, tata kelola, peran kepemimpinan, dan keterlibatan pemangku kepentingan pada masing-masing jenjang pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa setiap level pendidikan memiliki tantangan dan strategi manajemen yang berbeda namun saling berkaitan. Perencanaan berbasis data, kolaborasi dengan masyarakat, dan penguatan kapasitas guru dan dosen menjadi kunci keberhasilan manajemen di ketiga jenjang tersebut. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini mendorong perumusan kebijakan pendidikan yang lebih terintegrasi dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Perubahan dalam dunia pendidikan di era digital menuntut adanya penguatan supervisi akademik sebagai salah satu alat strategis dalam mendukung pengembangan profesional guru. Supervisi akademik kini tidak lagi dipahami hanya sebagai proses evaluasi administratif, melainkan sebagai pendekatan kolaboratif yang mengintegrasikan fungsi evaluasi, pendampingan, dan pemberdayaan guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara supervisi akademik, gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, dan kompetensi pedagogik terhadap kinerja mengajar guru di tingkat sekolah dasar. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional, dan data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner tertutup kepada 80 guru yang berada di wilayah Kecamatan Martapura. Instrumen penelitian telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas sebelum dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga variabel bebas memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja guru, dengan kontribusi terbesar berasal dari kompetensi pedagogik. Nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 68,9% menunjukkan bahwa model penelitian ini memiliki daya jelaskan yang kuat. Temuan ini menegaskan urgensi penerapan supervisi akademik yang bersifat reflektif dan berbasis coaching dalam rangka meningkatkan profesionalitas guru. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan sistem manajemen pendidikan yang berbasis bukti serta menyajikan rekomendasi strategis bagi reformasi supervisi akademik di sekolah dasar.
