Abstract

The development of information technology is misinterpreted as a place of expression without control. Social media has blurred the boundary between private space and public space. Frequent phenomena such as taking and using photos of friends without permission. This seems to be a paradox between the right to freedom of expression in friendship. This study aims to assess freedom of expression and the limitations of privacy in cyberspace. The researcher will examine several cases of violations of privacy through photos and their impact on victims. This research method uses a qualitative approach. The technique of collecting data uses interviews, literature studies and documentation. The theory used is the theory of computer- mediated communication and using the concept of a privacy violation to help answer problems in this study. Through this research, it is expected to obtain applicative solutions in an effort to resolve privacy issues and limits in friendship.

Abstract

Hoax management is a significant factor in maintaining government stability. Public Relations is necessary to respond and manage current developing issues, especially during the current era of information. Public satisfaction is dependant on how the government manages issues and ultimately increase public trust. This research employed the qualitative approach, i.e., case study research method, which describes researches carried out intensively in great detail and depth. The data were collected through unstructured observations, interviews, and documentation. This research investigated the Communication Excellence Theory proposed by Grunig and Hunt, which illustrate the symbolic processes of understanding human behaviour within an organisation. This research also studied how the concept of public relations strategies is implemented in solving the cases mentioned in this study. The results of the analysis found that, for the Presidential Staff Office, social media was essential in establishing an effective government public relations as well as to manage public issues.

Abstract

Anak merupakan gatra dari pertumbuhan demografi yang akan mendukung terciptanya ketahanan nasional. Menurut data yang dihimpun dari Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional (BKKBN), menyatakan bahwa pada tahun 2015 jumlah anak yang berusia 16-20 tahun sebanyak 66 juta orang atau sekitar 25% dari jumlah penduduk Indonesia (BKKBN, 2015: 35). Data tersebut menunjukkan potensi generasi yang harus disiapkan untuk membangun Indonesia 10–20 tahun mendatang. Jika keluarga berhasil mendidik anak saat ini untuk mampu mengekspresikan gairah masa mudanya dengan hal yang positif, maka sangat mungkin Indonesia di masa depan akan menjadi negara yang sejahtera.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi di ruang publik baru memberikan peluang sekaligus tantangan bagi keterlibatan publik. Kehadiran media sosial membuat publik bebas berpendapat dan memilih informasi. Model crowsourcing berbasis web dapat membantu mendistribusikan kontranarasi terhadap berita bohong dengan menggunakan partisipasi warga. Tulisan ini akan mencoba mengeksplorasi tantangan publik dalam upaya meredam hoax, khususnya dengan menggunakan solusi kreatif. Konsep yang digunakan adalah crowdsourcing dengan media web sebagai teknologi tepat guna untuk memanfaatkan potensi masyarakat secara luas. Pengggambaran dari crowsourcing dalam contoh penanggualanan isu hoax yang dilakukan oleh mafindo dan situs turn back hoax.

Abstract

Currently exposure to pornography in children threatens from various sides, ranging from relationships to the media. The threat of pornography in various media is a reminder for families to be able to pay special attention to children. Meanwhile, in essence, children are a representation of demographic growth that will help create national resilience. This is where the role of the family is needed in protecting and educating. The research used a qualitative approach with a phenomenology method with the collecting data by interview and get the additional source from news in newspaper. The subject of this research is communication in family and the object is pornographic content. The results of this study aim to show the importance of building family communication in order to ward off the onslaught of pornography on children. Effective family communication based on Islamic values is effective as an antidote to even the most widespread information epidemics, such as the epidemic of negative pornography on children. Based on this research, the author initiated a communication pattern in the family, which can be divided into three stages, namely in the form of directions, actions, and invitations. It is hoped that in the future there will be an effective communication pattern between children and parents based on Islamic values.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTeknologi telah mengalami perubahan yang luar biasa dalam hal keamanan, teknik akses, protokol dan standar. Manusia sebagai makhluk pencerita identik untuk berbagi informasi ke orang yang dipercaya. Dengan perkembangan media digital, wadah bercerita berpindah ke media sosial. Hal tersebut akhirnya menimbulkan tantangan dari sisi pengelolaan privasi baik dari sisi pemilik informasi maupun penerima informasi. Penelitian  ini akan menelisik lebih jauh terkait pengelolaan informasi berupa cerita pribadi dalam hubungan pertemanan.. Hal ini menjadi menarik karena pelanggaran privasi biasa terjadi karena tidak ada aturan dan kesepakatan dalam pertemanan maupun level kedekatan yang berbeda. Teori manajemen privasi komunikasi menjelaskan bahwa setiap orang memiliki hak atas informasi pribadinya. Sehingga, informasi pribadi menurut teori ini merupakan berbagai jenis informasi yang akan membuat seseorang berada pada kerentanan, oleh karenanya orang tersebut ingin mengontrol informasi yang dimiliki. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik studi kasus. Dalam analisanya, penulis juga mengaitkan kajian dari sisi keislaman, sehingga diharapkan ditemukan pembahasan dan solusi secara kajian teoritis maupun sudut pandang Islam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan jika  Manajemen privasi di era digital sangat penting. Berdasarkan temuan dalam penelitian ini tantangan privasi dalam hubungan pertemanan adalah belum adanya kesepahaman dalam makna privasi.

Abstract

The second Instagram account is a privacy management effort that is often abused. The main purpose of limiting privacy actually ends up being excessive uploading of information. The demands for the existence of identity spur social media users to publish on a large scale. The theory used in this research is dramaturgy combined with the concept of identity and self-disclosure. In Dramaturgy the roles that are displayed on each stage can be different according to the needs. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data is deepened through interviews and literature sources from books, journals and articles. As a result, it was found that most of the second account owners used the account as a venue for self-expression. However, unfortunately many of these behaviors are carried out without considering the threatening side effects.

Abstract

Pengelolaan privasi di tengah perkembangan media sosial seakan berada di posisi dilematis. Di satu sisi media sosial memberikan ruang untuk berekspresi dan mengungkapan diri termasuk untuk segala informasi yang masuk dalam konteks pribadi. Namun di sisi lain hal tersebut berpotensi pada pelanggaran privasi. Uniknya, fitur second account kerap dianggap zona aman untuk mengungkapkan diri secara lebih terbuka. Pada situasi itulah management privsi diperlukan. Dalam teori communication privacy management (CPM) oleh Sandra Petronio, batasan seseorang dalam berperilaku harus ditentukan oleh dirinya sendiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi beberapa unggahan di second account informan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan jika berbagai pelanggaran yang terjadi di akun kedua disebabkan karena kurangnya pengetahuan hingga pemahaman yang salah kaprah jika data akan tersimpan aman pada orang terdekat yang dipercaya. Padahal orang yang dipilih masuk ke lingkaran akun kedua juga rentan untuk membuka data privasi pemilik akun bahkan menyebarkannya.Setelah penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi pengguna media sosial untuk lebih bijak dalam mengelola privasinya bahkan dalam fitur yang dianggap aman.
