The seventh developer beta of iOS 26 is now available. While we are now in the later stages of the iOS 26 beta cycle, there are still some changes.

Below, we outline everything new that we have found in iOS 26 beta 7 so far.

Redesigned Blood Oxygen Feature

The seventh developer betas of iOS 26 and watchOS 26 include a redesigned Blood Oxygen feature on Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models sold in the U.S. since mid-January 2024.

Adaptive Power Notifications

iOS-26-Adaptive-Power-Notifications.jpg

iOS 26 introduces an Adaptive Power Mode on the iPhone, alongside the existing Low Power Mode.

Apple says Adaptive Power Mode can make "performance adjustments" when necessary to extend an iPhone's battery life, including slightly lowering the display brightness, allowing some activities to "take longer," and automatically turning on Low Power Mode when the iPhone's remaining battery life reaches the 20% mark.

iOS 26 beta 7 adds an additional Adaptive Power Notifications toggle in the Settings app, under Battery → Power Mode. This setting allows you to choose whether you receive push notifications each time Adaptive Power mode kicks in.

iOS 26 is compatible with the iPhone 11 series and newer, but Adaptive Power Mode is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro models and newer.

Other Changes

  • iOS 26 beta 7 fixes a bug that resulted in screenshots having a darker appearance.
This article will be updated if more iOS 26 beta 7 changes are discovered.

So that’s pretty much…it? I suppose? That’s all? 😄 Wow. I expected a lot more of the “liquid design”, “new design language” and a “major redesign” that only happens “once in a decade”. Federighi made it sound like it’s iOS 6 to 7 redesign again, it’s more like iOS 5 to 6. Apart from lock screen and toggles/buttons, I can’t even tell what’s new. Most stock apps look the same they did since iOS 13, Home app is pretty much untouched…that’s it? Wow. I’m so sick of Apple pushing half baked stuff as ground breaking. This beta is what we’ll get in 2-3 weeks as GM. That’s so unimpressive.

Seriously, iOS 26 could be an email.

Dude, this is just the changes from last week's beta 6.

Are there options for reducing the glass effect? As an older guy with old eyes transparent overlays aren't my thing.
I'm an "older guy" too and have "Increase contrast" and "reduce transparency" turned on on my iPhone as well as my iPad.
I did install the PB on my iPad and turned those 2 settings off to see what it really looks like and I am not bothered by liquid glass. That is on my iPad which I use indoors only.
I am not running the beta on my iPhone and I use that frequently outdoors, so I may have a different opinion with that once I upgrade after release (I am also considering getting a 17PM and it'll require iOS 26).

So if you are outside the US, you can get more notifications and for me I have more bugs now…

Wait what? almost every aspect of the OS is redesigned, what exactly do you want? You want it to suddenly add a holographic hand that comes out of your display and prepares coffee for you?

Ehm, no? But if I’m being told we’re getting another iOS 7-like redesign, then that’s what I expect? This is no redesign, sorry. It’s a facelift of Ive’s design, and Apple again overbloated what they will actually ship in few weeks.

What aspect of the iTunes Store app is redesigned? What about the Weather app? Home? Bunch of stock apps are basically the same as they were since like what, iOS 10? New buttons at the bottom don’t make it a “major redesign” that happens “once in a decade”.

It’s a total UI redesign. Not necessarily massive overhauls of the individual apps. Guess it comes down to expectations. I think it’s feels pretty fresh. No it doesnt look that different but the differences are in the details. New icons, new buttons, new animations. Those are what change the feel of the UI if you’re someone that appreciates details, not dramatically new colors or app layouts. I agree it’s not as big of a redesign as iOS7 was, but i don’t think it needed to be. This UI is almost timeless at this point. The iPhone hardware on the other hand….that needs some transformative rethinking.

Well, you were talking about changes from iOS 5 to 6 and iOS 6 to 7 when the article was speaking of an incremental beta update.

Maybe you misunderstood? I meant that what we have here now with Beta 7 is pretty much it. No further major changes, ironing out bugs until GM, so that’s all 26 is going to be.

What I meant was that the change from iOS 18 to 26 will be more or less like from 5 to 6. Nothing insane. Nothing like from 6 to 7, and that’s disappointing because during WWDC they pushed this overbloated marketing how much this will be the redesign we got with iOS 7. It’s nothing like that.

It’s not the major groundbreaking redesign they promised during this years WWDC.

Not really, no, it’s not. Total redesign was iOS 7, this isn’t it. My expectations were set high by overbloating of what Apple will actually deliver.

Watch this again maybe you forgot what they promised you, 7:14:

I know it’s a beta but I’ve been running the public beta since the first and man even with adaptive power mode enabled, my iPhone 16 pro is going through power like crazy!
I actually haven’t tried with the option off, maybe it’s not optimized yet.

I think that they're going to keep the ITMS untouched until they decide that usage is so low, they're going to stop it (and hopefully just allow people to redownload previous purchases).

The fact that it looks like the it did around iOS 8 makes it likely that not many people are purchasing music anymore.

Mind you, Music app should look a lot better, so...

That’s not good, I still buy licences for music and movies from iTunes.

Home, Weather, Reminders, Stocks, AppStore, Notes and even Music…all these Apps are unchanged. They now have a floating glass menu which is universal to the system now instead of the flat menu that’s in the iTS app, but that’s not a major redesign is it? It’s really a facelift. Apple again overpromised and underdelivered. I’m sorry that some in the heavily loyal fanbase don’t like what I’m saying but let’s call out bs when enough is enough.

Hopefully they fix the graphical glitches. Mine tries to switch between light and dark mode like 3 times every time I leave an app. lol.

That’s because apple now days doesn’t do any big changes. I do agree with you, iOS 26 is shocking, it’s exactly like iOS 18 you forget the funky ui after 5min, no new features that change the way we use our phone. And a decade only re design should have been complete major overhaul. But this is apple now days. They don’t get it unfortunately

I mean, they’re not unchanged. They’re all redesigned with a new UI. This UI just happens to look a lot like the old UI but every surface of the OS is new. The Home Screen icons are also all new. It’s like Porsche at this point. New generations that the average person can’t tell apart from previous generations uNless you know the details. That’s just mature, good design. I don’t want radical. And 90% of the Apple user base doesn’t either because people like what they’re familiar with. To me it feels like a very clean modernized UI that looks very similar to the old one. I’m happy with that. What about the weather app, for example, do you feel needs a major overhaul? It’s very simple and familiar at this point. What they showed at WWDC is basically what we got. They dialed back the glass effect very slightly, otherwise it’s the same thing they showed. I’m confused.

I don’t disagree with this. But I think they really implied the look of the UI was dramatically new, not the user experience in general. That’s never been Apples style. If you go back to iOS 7,8,9 and compare it to where it is now, it’s an entirely different UI with significantly different functionality. It’s just been slowly refined and updated each year vs a major redesign all at once. I think this is the most we can hope for with iOS at this point. It’s just too relied upon by so many people to drastically change it.

I sort of exptected a major redesign like we got iOS 7, since that’s what Federighi started his speech with. Now it’s just an inconsistent mess. Weather app looks dates, lock screen looks fresh, some bits are new most bits are old looking, it’s just an inconsistend mess now. They should’ve announced it when it’s ready, this is half baked.
