PES Congress in Amsterdam

The PES 2025 Congress will convene in Amsterdam from October 16-18.
This is a crucial gathering for progressives and civil society to tackle the major challenges of our time and to create a shared vision for a fairer, more sustainable future. Our goal is clear - to mobilise all those committed to progressive values and revitalise progressive thought. We need bold new ideas, solidarity, and a strategic willingness to cooperate among democratic forces. Together, we can build confidence for change and uphold our common values of freedom, equality, and justice.

PES Congress Programme

Across Europe and beyond, a wave of popular discontent is rising. People are anxious about the future and are losing trust in politics. Inequality is deepening. Authoritarian voices are gaining ground. The pillars of democracy and the promise of social progress are under growing pressure. For us the task is clear, we want to mobilise all those committed to social justice, democracy, and a sustainable future in Europe and across the world. We need new, bold ideas. We need solidarity and a new, strategic willingness to cooperate among democratic forces in society and politics.

The PES Congress 2025 is anything but politics-as-usual: it will be a Progressive Mobilisation — a large conference of ideas that brings together people from all walks of life to tackle the big questions of our time, and to shape a shared vision and concrete actions for a fairer, more just and sustainable future. We will assemble prime ministers, mayors, politicians, journalists and authors, activists, artists, academics, trade unionists and entrepreneurs from Europe and across the world — people with something to say and something to change. We are inviting a wide array of speakers from every corner of society to engage in dynamic and engaging formats, from showcasing ideas to interactive panels and open discussions, designed to foster real exchanges and to connect ideas with action.

Sustainability is a priority for the PES. We promote and push for sustainable actions not only in our policies but also in our work and the organisation of the PES Congress.

In setting up the event, we have taken into consideration the impact we are making on the environment, by taking into account the design and management of the event, its location and its impact on the city it is taking place in. The PES Congress event is reducing to the maximum the usage of paper, has its branding in a predominantly digital format and for its printed branding materials we have chosen to use water-based printing on environmentally friendly materials. The PES goal is to reduce as much as possible the carbon footprint of its Congress.

Progressive Mobilisation – In Europe and Beyond
is organised by the Party of European Socialists.

The PES brings together the socialist, social democratic, labour and democratic parties from all over the European Union, the UK and Norway. Together with 33 full member parties and 13 associate and 15 observer parties, we fight for a better and more progressive Europe.
