Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Fashion
![]() | Points of interest related to Fashion on Wikipedia: Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Fashion or clothing. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Fashion|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Fashion or clothing. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Fails to meet the WP:NCORP standard. Lacks significant coverage by multiple reliable sources. Brandon (talk) 06:22, 17 October 2025 (UTC)

- Delete per WP:GNG. There is no significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources except few brief mentions or product listings. The content reads like promotion rather than an encyclopedic entry and lacks verifiable information about the perfume’s development, reception, or cultural significance. Without independent sources providing in-depth coverage, the topic doesn’t merit a standalone article and should be deleted per WP:NOTADVERTISING and WP:V. No great claim to notability here, and the article is related to the equally promotional Christian Ngan. The secondary coverage here is the usual celebratory "30 Most Promising etc." kind, in a promotional publication--wait, that's it. The TIC Mag link is dead, the supposed magazine unknown, and the competition not notable. Drmies (talk) 23:24, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

- Comment. IAbot was able to find an archived copy of the TIC magazine article. I wish people would run IAbot on any article on any article they encounter that has a dead link. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 01:13, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Pretty much a WP:ROTM model. Social media personalities are ten a penny, too. Forbes 30 Under 30 is a list designed to sell copies of Forbes and has no significance for notability. WP:NOTINHERITED from her relationships. Publication of a journal does not confer notability, nor does being a cover picture for a magazine. Fails WP:BIO. - Keep: she meets the requirements for notability with coverage about her as a celebrity, through various aspects of her life and career, in sources such as Correio da Manhã (Portugal), SAPO (website) , Flash! , Caras (magazine), and so on. The coverage is sustained, it is significant and independent. One can find it less interesting than discussing German philosophy or politics but then, no one is forcing anyone to read it. As for "social media personalities" being "ten a penny", maybe, but that's totally irrelevant; and the essay about "run-of-the-mill" coverage is a highly debatable one and I don't think it is relevant here either. e.ux 13:52, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

This was recreated after previously being deleted at AFD1 & AFD2 and I either cannot verify the sources as they are dead, or they are not RS or they are actually by PR companies….
Therefore a discussion is necessary. Appears to fail GNG, N and BIO Spartaz Humbug! 10:17, 11 October 2025 (UTC)

Keep: seems to meet WP:AUTHOR.Her book Win the Runway was the primary subject of various reviews (two linked on the page but the LA Weekly one being a 404) + https://fashionweekdaily.com/amanda-van-annan-shares-her-knowledge-about-modeling-through-her-new-book-win-the-runway/ or this https://www.flaunt.com/blog/amanda-van-annan (The guideline says that an author "is likely to be notable if (...) (he/she) person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews, or of an independent and notable work (for example, a book.."). Thatseems to[might] be the case. e.ux 18:51, 11 October 2025 (UTC)- So the first one is dead as you note. The second states it is presented by ascend agency and the third has no byline and it's not clearly an rs. This clearly does not prove ammunition to claim inherent notability. Spartaz Humbug! 23:24, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- I found the LAWeekly link on the Internet Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20210529070828/https://www.laweekly.com/amanda-van-annan-releases-a-guide-book-for-models-called-win-the-runway/ and added that as archive-url. It's also
byer ... "in partnership with" the Ascend Agency. If I were arguing to keep the article, I'd use the Nigerian newspaper articles. It's all very iffy. --GRuban (talk) 23:42, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks GRuban. If I have time, I'll check coverage in African media. There's https://www.villagevoice.com/amanda-van-annan-talks-beauty-and-fashion-in-her-podcast-series/ (bylined but unclear what the partnership is, that time) https://thesun.ng/meet-amanda-van-annan-a-serial-entrepreneur-and-inspiration-for-youth/ in The Sun (Nigeria)--e.ux 13:20, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

Singh has also gained a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for her contribution to Indian cinema Notable achievement for Singh include winning two National Awards for her work on Taj Mahal and Umrao Jaan as well as receiving the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award for her contribution to fashion design and research on the movie Mission Kashmir. Singh has also received the Prime Minister’s Women Achievers Award, and has worked with leading Indian personalities, as well as international stars such as Michael Jackson and Will Smith [[1]]. If there are then the article needs another positive look in Reach for the stars 💫💫 (talk) 09:28, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Speedy keep — she is a two-time National Award winner for Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story (2005) and Umrao Jaan (2006). Meets WP:ANYBIO criterion 1 — “The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for such an award several times.” (Refs: ToI 1, 2; Hindustan Times 3; The Hindu 4; DFF archive 5). Thanks to Eberechigab, whose comment encouraged me to dig deeper — these sources also suggest she meets WP:GNG. EmilyR34 (talk) 10:07, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

- Keep I have added to the article, based on The Times of India and The Hindu, that the subject is a two-time winner of the National Film Award for Best Costume Design. Both of those articles provide the WP:BASIC level minimum of multiple reliable independent sources that give significant coverage, and the two awards meet the "well-known and significant award" standard of WP:ANYBIO. Asparagusstar (talk) 14:25, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: Per the sources cited by EmilyR34 in this AFD. Seem good enough for the subject to get through WP:ANYBIO and GNG. BhikhariInformer (talk) 03:09, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Final relist. A source assessment would be very helpful at this point in the discussion.
