How do I create a tracker?

In Mastery Connect, you can create a mastery tracker for each of your classes. In the Tracker menu, you can add students  individually, import them from a CSV file, import them from a SIS, or copy them from another tracker or class.

Create Tracker

In the Home page [1], click the Mastery Trackers Option icon [2]. Then click the Create New Tracker menu [3].

Note: You can also create a tracker from your curriculum maps page, from your shared curriculum maps page, or from another teacher's curriculum map.

Choose Tracker Option

New Tracker Set

Select whether the new tracker will be from a Standard Set [1] or a Curriculum Map [2].

Create Tracker from Standard Set

In the New Tracker window, click the drop-down menus to select the Subject [1], Core [2] and Class [3], and Curriculum Map [4]. If your district has selected standards and a map for your course, you will be locked into those options.

Enter a title for the tracker in the Description text box [5].

To change the folder color, click the Folder icon [6], then select a color from the color palette window.

To select a method for adding students, click the Add Students drop-down menu [7]. You can import students from a CSV file, from a SIS section, or copy them from another tracker or class. You can also add students individually either from a SIS or by entering their names. If you add students individually, learn more about adding students to an existing tracker.

To save your changes and create the tracker, click the Create button [8].

Create Tracker without Active Tracker

If there are no active trackers, the tracker creation flow will automatically launch for teachers without existing trackers.

In the global navigation menu, click the Home link [1]. Select one or more subjects [2]. Click the Next button [3].

Note(s):

  • This feature required District Standards to be assigned. If a district does not have this feature configured, you will receive the regular tracker creation flow.
  • If trackers already exist, the regular tracker creation flow can be used to create trackers one at a time.
  • This tracker creation flow does not apply to Canvas-linked trackers.

In the drop-down menu, select all classes being taught [1]. Click the Next button [2].

Select any available Curriculum Maps [1]. Only maps assigned to the core by the district will display [2]. If no maps are available, click the Next button [3].

Teachers can optionally select sections [1]. If no sections are available, students can be added after tracker creation. Click the Create Trackers button [2].
