Notion has opened a wait list for its coming Skiff-based Notion Mail offering, a key piece of its “future of work” strategy.
“We plan to officially launch Notion Mail in early 2025,” the Notion website explains. “Notion Mail will integrate seamlessly with Google and Gmail accounts at initial launch. It will [also] be available on iPhone and Android devices in 2025.”
Notion Mail follows the January release of Notion Calendar and like its predecessor, it’s based on an acquisition, in this case its February link-up with Skiff, which had been selling a privacy-focused email client called Skiff Mail.
Details are light. But based on the screenshots Notion provided, Notion Mail uses the same minimalistic look and feel as the core Notion client, and the firm promises personalization, and automatic inbox organization, archiving, and drafts. It will feature shortcuts and quick replies. And it will use AI to handle scheduling and follow-ups, message content suggestions, and more.
As a loyal Notion user, I’m of course interested in what they do here, and I’ve signed up for the waitlist. But Notion Mail will enter a market crowded with well-regarded Google, Microsoft, and third-party email clients and services. It will be interesting to see whether it makes any headway there.
