In the United States and the United Kingdom, outsourcing has been a popular option for the facility management industry, both in-house and out. The task that facility managers most outsourced in the United States in 2024 was fire and/or water damage restoration, with bird and pest control also featuring high up in the list. The outsourcing of facility management in the United Kingdom has been somewhat different, with the UK government offering very lucrative contracts to top facility management companies that are recorded as being worth almost 500 million British pounds come the first quarter of 2025.An essential and lucrative industry
The revenue of Aramark, one of the leading facility management companies worldwide, reached a record high in 2024 of 17.4 billion U.S. dollars and has shown no signs of slowing down. France-based company Sodexo also had a record-breaking year when it came to finances, as their on-site services revenue increased noticeably within their North American operations. The revenue of ISS World, another industry giant, surpassed more than 11.5 billion U.S. dollars in the same time period.
