Walmart de México y Centroamérica, also known as Walmex, sits comfortably at the top of the ranking of Mexico’s largest retailers, with around 65 percent of all supermarket sales in the country. Despite the economic challenges presented by the pandemic and the recovery period, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and food price inflation, Walmart’s bet on its omnichannel strategy and its presence across Mexico in more than three thousand stores all but ensures it will remain the largest retailer in the country for the foreseeable future.
