The estimated inflation rate of Argentina for 2024 was around 250 percent, which makes the South American country the second-highest inflation rate in the world – meaning that Argentinians have to pay 350 Argentine pesos to buy the same products and services that cost 100 pesos the year prior. It is not a surprise that Argentinians still rank inflation among the country's main problems, among other problems such as poverty, low wages, corruption, and crime. During that same year, the Latin America inflation rate was lower than 20 percent, that is to say, Argentina had a 12 times higher inflation rate than the regional average. The high price increases that terrorize the country and have become the norm since 1946 come with many consequences, such as loss of purchasing power, increased poverty, and economic uncertainty.
