The original question read as follows: "Below is a list of institutions. For each one, please indicate how much you trust that institution to do what is right using a 9-point scale, where one means ' do not trust them at all ' and nine means that you ' trust them a great deal '. Data presented corresponds to top four answer categories on the scale.
Survey was conducted in 27 countries. Edelman.com surveys 1,000 respondents per country from the general population and combines the results with "informed publics" interview outcomes from U.S., China and 200 other countries.
