Figures were restated based on the latest edition of the report.
Oil consumption in Canada reached roughly *****million barrels per day in 2024, an increase of nearly ****percent when compared to the previous year. Between 2004 and 2024, figures decreased by some ** thousand barrels per day, peaking at **** million barrels per day in 2019. In recent years, the Alberta oil sands were accounted for in the proven oil reserves under the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (now known as the Energy Resources Conservation Board).
