The source surveyed 7,021 adults in Australia, France, Germany, India, Japan, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom between November and December 2022 and 5,004 adults in the US were surveyed in January 2023.

As of January 2023, around seven in ten adults in selected countries worldwide did not know how the dark web works. Among researched markets, Respondents in New Zealand had the least understanding of the dark web, while almost half of those surveyed in the United States were aware of it.
