When asked why they bought from Amazon.co.uk instead of a different retailer in the past 12 months, the determining factor among many online shoppers in the United Kingdom (UK) was an old classic: the price. In 2021, nearly half of surveyed UK consumers said they had bought on Amazon.co.uk because it was cheaper here than elsewhere, making it the leading consideration. This number rose to almost ** percent in 2022. Many shoppers also found Amazon easier to use or had a Prime subscription to keep them from visiting the competition.
