📚 The Bank of Italy chooses 4Science to enhance their digital cultural heritage 💡 A modern and interoperable Digital Library Thanks to DSpace-GLAM, 4Science will provide the Institute with a state-of-the-art Digital Library Management System (DLMS), capable of #managing the #digital content of the Paolo Baffi Library in a structured and #interoperable way. 💯 The #system will ensure the #management, #consultation, #access, and #preservation of both digital publications and the digitized book #heritage, particularly regarding ancient works or #collections preserved solely by the Bank. During the restyling and update, the team took great care to preserve the State Library’s visual identity. When #navigating across a vast number of #digitized and digital #documents, search capabilities and tools make a difference in the user experience and in everyone’s workflow. It was born in 2019 with the purpose of #collecting, #archiving and #disseminating the scientific outputs of public funded #research in accordance with the European requirements of Open Access. 💡 INAF is Italy’s primary public research organization dedicated to #astronomy and #astrophysics. It also collects the cultural and historical #heritage of Italian astronomical observatories #collaborating with other Italian and international bodies such as the European Space Agency - ESA and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Born from a clear mandate to support #OpenAccess policies at the national and European levels, OA@INAF plays a central role in aligning publicly funded #research in astrophysics with the European Commission’s Open Science agenda. 📍 PND in Viaggio fa tappa a Bari! Ieri nella splendida cornice del Castello Svevo, si è svolta una nuova tappa del percorso promosso dall’Digital Library - Istituto centrale per la digitalizzazione del patrimonio culturale del MiC, in collaborazione con Regione Puglia, Innova Puglia e numerosi attrattori culturali del territorio. 🌀 Nel pomeriggio durante il laboratorio di Co-design del progetto Ecomic - Ecosistema digitale per la cultura, abbiamo esplorato il potenziale dei servizi digitali e dell’intelligenza artificiale, messi a disposizione dell'infrastruttura del MiC, per valorizzare, descrivere e rendere accessibile l’immenso patrimonio culturale pugliese e arricchire quello nazionale. Tra i temi affrontati: 🎧 Audioguide inclusive e personalizzate. Grazie all’estrazione automatica dei luoghi di interesse turistico dalle risorse digitali, è possibile generare contenuti audio su misura per bambini, adulti ed esperti. 📸 Tagging intelligente delle immagini Attraverso l’analisi automatica dei temi del Soggettario di Firenze, i catalogatori possono arricchire le migliaia di risorse fotografiche con parole chiave navigabili nella Digital Library della Puglia. 🔗 Grafo della Conoscenza Una modalità avanzata di esplorazione che connette risorse anche tra domini culturali diversi, permettendo all’utente di scoprire nuove relazioni a altre risorse digitali presenti in altri sistemi nazionali, senza uscire dal portale Puglia Digital Library. Verso una cultura interconnessa e integrata ! 💡 Con il contributo di 4Science abbiamo anche esplorato come potenziare la piattaforma open source DSPACE-GLAM con i servizi di content processing avanzato di Ecomic, fondamentali per supportare il lavoro dei professionisti della cultura e il mondo della ricerca. 🙏 Grazie!
