. Before seizing any immediate win opportunity, evaluate its impact on the vision, mission, and long-term business objectives . The impact can be positive, neutral, or negative. . If positive, grap the opportunity and build on it. . If no impact, take the opportunity but avoid distractions. . Any opportunity with negative impact on long-term objectives needs serious considerations. . If the decision is not to pursue a quick win opportunity for the sake of long-term strategy, communicate the lesson with the team. It is a great learning opportunity to align team's objectives. . If you don't win today, there can be tomorrow. So go after short term wins with gusto, remembering that every win grows your confidence, your brand, your influence and creates new opportunities. Importantly, align the accomplishments so they serve as a pathway to your vision. People may think this is not possible or haphazard, but the workplace and priorities change. Embracing change and staying adaptable trumps focus on a plan that is no longer relevant.

Consider short-term wins not as detours, but as stepping stones. Connect day-to-day activities with long-term objectives so that each decision contributes to the big picture. Prioritize those initiatives that provide immediate results and at the same time build momentum into the future. Move with agility, but not without strategy, so as not to lose sight of where one wants to go.

Work on your 3 year long term goal, involve your team and discuss strategic goals then clearly define your long-term vision, then break it down into smaller, achievable short-term goals that directly contribute to that vision.

Immediate wins are essential to keep going and stay motivated. Future ambitions are what going to make step change and provide long term fulfilment. It is inevitable to spent most of our time in firefighting or short-term wins and park long term goals forever, not easy to get out of the routine unless we consciously try and have a plan for it: - Have written long term ambitions - Make sure to read it aloud every day - Allocate at least 20% of your time for long term goals. If cannot get one week, be prepared to make up next week, - Review progress weekly. - Don't stop until succeed. - Celebrate!
