To balance AR project scope and timely delivery, it’s crucial to define clear project boundaries from the start and stick to them. Prioritize core features for launch and schedule enhancements for future updates. Regular check-ins, strict change management, and setting realistic milestones help keep the team focused. Clear communication and flexibility to adjust when needed without losing sight of the end goal are key to maintaining both quality and timelines.

Focus on ROI and break the work into tranches that align with delivering the minimum viable outcome at each stage. You can always add more later, but consistently delivering the minimum required is the real challenge.

One thing that I have found helpful in managing scope creep is through the leveraging of Agile project management planning. Define development sprints around clearly defined deliverables by specific milestone dates. This allows for the team to manage any change while driving towards the ultimate project goal. This will also drive continuous communication of status which is key to ensuring the impacts of any additional requirements are identified. Sharing this feedback and status to all stakeholders will help the project stay aligned to the agreed upon timeline and reduce unexpected changes to the project scope.
