I grew up playing RuneScape. When my parents stopped subsidizing my account, I entertained myself by reading programming textbooks and doing competitive math. Great call by my parents.

I wasn’t cut out for India’s top engineering college, so I came to Stanford to study computer science instead. After college, I started a retail analytics company that was acquired by Palantir. I had to shut down my second company. Building a successful business was hard. Watching one die was harder.

But nothing was harder than spending seven years taking night shifts at San Francisco’s suicide hotline. It gave me a profound appreciation for human psychology and evolved into a lasting obsession with incentive alignment.

Blending my love for math, technology, entrepreneurship, and incentive systems, I founded and co-head the Customer Value Fund (CVF), which I run at General Catalyst. CVF is an entirely new form of financing that my co-head Pranav Singhvi and I created to fund sales and marketing for companies that have found product-market fit. We started at $0 and now manage capital in the ten figures.

I work with unicorns across all sectors, including healthcare (Commure, Ro, Dandy), fintech (Lemonade), enterprise (Factorial, Grammarly), consumer (Fabletics, InDrive), gaming (Superplay), and crypto (to be announced). After all, specialization is for insects.

While there’s nothing more fun than CVF, I’m also into fitness classes, all sports, great food (especially sushi), and great music (especially Metallica). I’m in two book clubs, but still believe the greatest piece of fiction ever created is financial models in Microsoft Excel.
