NERL is pleased to announce that it has signed a 3-year agreement with OA Switchboard, an intermediary that facilitates the transmission of standardized OA publication data between institutions, publishers, and funders. By joining in this collaborative effort consisting of over 21 consortia, 40 publishers, and 275 individual institutions, NERL members will be supporting global OA infrastructure with metadata that is authoritative, transparent, and timely. This partnership also equips NERL libraries with more data for reporting, compliance, and assessment, reducing administrative burden and improving insight into open access publishing activity.
“Open access is essential to the global equity of research and NERL is delighted to be partnering with OA Switchboard to streamline OA metadata and reporting across the community,” said Lanette Garza, Director for Collections Acquisitions & Licensing at the Center for Research Libraries. “NERL is happy to be providing this tangible benefit to our members to streamline and help inform their transition to open access.”
Yvonne Campfens, Executive Director of Stichting OA Switchboard stated, “We’re thrilled to welcome NERL to the OA Switchboard community. Their participation strengthens our shared mission to enable efficient, transparent, and reliable exchange of open access publication data across the global research ecosystem.”
