What's a common cooking mistake that'll make you question eating someone's food?

Letting cats up on the counter in the kitchen. Your cat went from shitting in the litter box, to touching the counters you're preparing food on, to even potentially touching the food. I don't trust it.

Not washing your hands before touching said food item while preparing it.

‘Defrosting’ items by leaving frozen things out on the counter all day

Overcooking pasta to the point of mush. Al dente please 

Sneezing in the food that's being prepared.

 Not washing their hands after handling raw meat.

Over cooking meat. Either people are afraid of undercooking meat, or they don't realize that when you take meat off of the grill or out of a pan or oven, it continues to cook for a few minutes. Too much dry meat out there, especially pork or chicken breast.

Not pulling back (or otherwise containing), long hair while cooking. Roaches. A dirty kitchen (old dirt, that is - it's fine if it got that way while cooking the current meal).

UNLESS they are my PARTNER or absolute BOO BFF, Taste testing then putting the spoon back in the pot of food!!!! Gah!
