E. denticulatum is a seaweed species that is widely cultivated in Tinanggea District, especially in Bungin Permai Village. Previously, Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed was widely cultivated in this village, but due to its declining growth since the waters in the area were contaminated by mining waste, farmers have switch to E. denticulatum seaweed. The purpose of this field work and survey is to find out the mariculture management of E. denticulatum seaweed cultivation in Bungin Permai, Tinanggea District. The field work and survey was held in May 2023 and consist of two stages, namely the preparatory stage and the survey stage. The preparatory phase was carried out at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Halu Oleo University, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. The survey phase was carried out directly by visiting seaweed farming in Bungin Permai Village. The survey phase began with weighing the seeds, tying the seeds, measuring and weighing the harvested seaweed clumps, and interviewed 4 seaweed farmers using questionnaires. The next step was to measure water quality parameters. From this study it was found that the farmers was dominated by man (75%). Farmers aged between 25-49 years (100%) with elementary school education (15 %), senior highschool education (25%) and not attending school (15%). They have cultivation experience >10 years (75%). The number of ropes owned ranges 50-100 ropes (50%) <50 and >100 ropes (25%). The harvested seaweed was sold to local collectors at a Rp. 5,000-10,000/kg selling price in dry condition. The cultivation location was located in the western and southeastern parts of the village consists of silt and muddy sand a substrate. The majority of the seeds used was self seedlings supply (100%) which were taken between 20-25 days old (75%). Seaweed used as seeds ranged from 12,3-22,4 g/clumps and harvested weight ranged from 97.6-130.6 g/clumps. The cultivation method used is the longline method (100%). Maintenance cycle for 30-40 days. The average daily growth rate (DGR) was 6,5272±0,9338%day. The parameters for the quality of seaweed cultivation waters were temperature 30oC, salinity 32 ppt and current speed 0.08 m/s. Pests and diseases of E. denticulatum found were Sargassum sp., squid eggs, cat’s fur, and ice-ice. E. denticulatum seaweed cultivation activities are in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at the practice location. Among 9 criteria, there are 5 criteria of the SOP are fully adopted (profit farm, location of cultivation, selection of seeds, cultivation method, maintenance), 3 criteria are not fully adopted, and 3 criteria (cultivator profile, seed transportation and post-harvest) are not adopted at all (documentation and traceability) by the farmers.
