Enterprise information system is database of information for management and decision making by managers. Integral part of information system is the subsystem which focus on the recording and processing of accounting documents. The importance of accounting, as an important tool for corporate management, continues to grow. In the paper, we present using the accounting system of the company, as a source of objective and relevant information. Information from accounting provides managers with an overview of past and current situation of the company and it is also supporting data for predicting development, tool for decision making and control. Software selection is important for provide information in the required scope and quality. For choosing accounting system, company decides how much information the system will contain and establishes the extent of its use. A question of selection of accounting system then linked with the management and directly affects the quality and speed of decision in the company. Subject to review is information system in selected companies. We applied the basic scientific methods of research. Based on obtained results, we concluded that an essential prerequisite for ensuring reliable and sufficient information is high quality accounting system. Another prerequisite is the relevance of using accounting information by managers.

This paper provides a review on the impact of information technology on accounting systems. This paper also discusses things about the accounting processes and its types. Accounting is a critical factor for the business, having the touch of IT can enhance speed and accurateness of computations as well as to enhance its flexibility to change and safety storage of information.

A number of accounting software packages are available offering a variety of features. They cost much less than what customized accounting software would cost. However, these software packages offer only the structure for accounting information systems. At the most, they reduce the programming effort for accounting information systems.

It is said that accounting is the heart of all Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP). This metaphor reminds us that accounting is the center and summarization of all business information and essential to manage the business. However, this analogy is also misleading because the heart is an independent organ that pumps blood to the whole body while accounting is (1) dependent on the subsystems-auxiliary ledgers-and (2) the data it process comes from those subsystems. This paper shows how accounting data is summary data that repeats the data contained in the other subsystems; a repetition required in a manual information system but redundant and unnecessary in a computerized one. Subsequently it shows how part of the data contained in the subsystems is in itself also redundant. It concludes with an accounting data model (IAC) that provides a better data structure for computerized accounting information systems.

This study aims to understand users and information system designers in designing and implementing relevant accounting information systems. Qualitative research is selected using an interpretive approach that focuses on exploring awareness from the perspective of users and accounting information system designers. The results showed that system users realized the importance of using accounting information systems to anticipate the number of transactions and errors in recording. From the system designer side, the designed information system must adapt to the conditions and culture of the system users. The relevant accounting information system occurs when the system implementation is based on mutual understanding and commitment between the user and the system designer.
